According to anonymous sources, NRG has decided to restructure their roster once again. While Brandon “Seagull” Larned will remain as the centerpiece of the team, NRG has also elected to continue with support Tim “dummy” Olson. The remaining four members of the team were told that management would be potentially trialling other players in order to field the best roster possible.
As of now, Carl “enigma” Yangsheng, Yomar ”milo” Toledo, Matthew ”clockwork” Dias, and Seb ”numlocked” Barton will remain active on the main roster while NRG searches for potential replacements. Though they are not definitively cut from the team, several parties are reluctant to continue playing for the organization after hearing the news.
NRG originally acquired an Overwatch roster by purchasing the team from Luminosity Gaming. On that team were Mark ”Pookz” Rendon and Daniel ”GODS” Graeser, who are currently free agents. While the roster was once considered a top-three team in North America, the team has fallen from grace, failing to escape the group stage of OGN APEX Season 1. In the wake of their failure to qualify for the Winter Premiere group stage, NRG will be attempting to find a solution to their struggles.
As it stands, the current NRG roster is:
- Brandon “Seagull” Larned (DPS)
- Matthew ”clockwork” Dias (DPS)
- Carl ”enigma” Yangsheng (Flex)
- Seb ”numlocked” Barton (Tank)
- Tim ”dummy” Olson (Support)
- Yomar ”milo” Toledo (Support)
However, the roster is likely to face changes in the upcoming weeks, as the only locked positions are currently Seagull’s and dummy’s. As the Winter Premiere progresses, members of NRG that are not locked in might begin to trial for other rosters.
Update: I have been informed that Seb "numlocked" Barton will retain his position on the team as well. That leaves clockwork, enigma, and milo's positions uncertain.
