How can you not be top 6 if you beat 2 teams out of 8.
I agree the final should be pretty much underwhelming though. :(
Hope they prove me wrong.

Prediction:
Heart : Canada 3-2 Sweden
Brain : Sweden 3-0 Canada
Spicy.
so xQc to Boston? -_^
Wild guess since it's a global league: Legal restrictions in certain countries.
Golden Sausage? I'm a fan.
You're delusional.
You're comparing with events that happen once a year, and often times, in different cities each year.
OWL will be 3 times a week. In the same city.
Again, just think about the LCS. 450 seats is quite alright.
Did you guys expect the stadium to be as big as the Staples Center? Turn down your expectations guys, esports is starting to get big, but it still isn't THAT big. Can't find the capacity online, but the NA LCS studio probably have around that, does that mean LoL is a dead game? :P
iirc Team CC is NetEasy's entry to esport to understand the space a little more before building their OWL team. I think team CC will only compete in OPS.
The dream :
Paris Rogue
London eUnited
Taipei Flash Wolves
Bangkok MEGA
Moscow 123
Sydney Blank
Rio BGH
Dubai Laser Kittenz
A Chicago, Toronto, Swedish and Finnish team
More chinese and korean teams
Consider me a rageoftofu fan.
This name deserves fame.
A special thank you to TISRobin311 for his help with the article.
/r/cow's very own MVP
I really wanted Chance in the Canada national committee ;_;
This will be a hard task for them being in the same group as France and Denmark. We can expect them to smile all along though.
Give me some Surefour vs Hydration Pharah battles.
Weird that the rest of the game is going to be played on the new patch.
I guess they will go with Lui for this match since I believe they are required to make every player of their roster play at least a game.
Nah, it's related to their Vainglory team being in London for some big lan tournament. :P
They probably declined any kind of invitations while they are searching for a 6th player.
Out of all the teams that have pulled off since the last 2 weeks, I'm only surprised by Dignitas and Splyce because they were doing good.
The orgs surely have had informations about OWL recently they we aren't aware of.
Pretty sure NRG will lose, but still excited to see how well they do.
I'm so hyped for this year's world cup.
Trying to find how to watch the VODs is somewhat hard. :'(
op logic
Exactly what I was thinking during the first two map.
Too bad the big names dropped out, but I'm happy to see teams from different countries than usual like Israel and U.A.E. Always nice seeing more countries join the fray!
Why are all the finnish teams missing? :o
Is that really a goal any game strives to achieve anyway? I mean traditional sports don't even have those (well they do but it's not that big compared to their salary) and their popularity is indeniable.
100k prizes, University of Toronto, FishStix casting and I wasn't even aware of it! Thanks for the heads up.
Nice article CommanderX, really well done.
This is nice.
I will take a dozen.
This is not unique to reddit but the world in general.
Yah and they look pretty darn strong in the round of 6 too.
Exept on Illios, C9 looked really great. Can't wait to see them against KD Uncia and AFBlue which will probably be harder.
Looks like Immortals Renegades is already out of the tournament even if they win their 2 matches tonight, but god, that first map, Mangachu is quite scary. He does alot for this team. That Torb on D totally saved the game, and he carried that last fight hard on Pharah.
Holy mother of brackets. It's really well made, but really bad to look at it.
You're right, but there seems to be alot of free agents right now that can fill that role.
While yes' group B is clearly the group of death. Having Kongsoo Uncia and AFBlue in the same group as Cloud9 won't be easy for NA team..
And as for the new patch, at least it shouldn't drop 3 weeks before the end of the tournament like season 1, we all know it's a matter of days before it hits.
Really great first map.
Mangagod :|
We've been getting some really good and close games tonight.
Oh shit. Iddqd+Seagull plz
What's mostly frustrating about this meta, and you mentioned it briefly, is that the star dps players don't have the ability to shine as best as they could be. They can't show their full potential because they have to play the meta by going on d.va or roadhog. And while I still find Overwatch fun to watch even with the triple/quad tank meta, it is way more exciting when star players have the ability to show off their skills by playing dps characters.
Really good points on hoa they should be using PTR.
Nice article as usual Harsha, we expect nothing less from you.
Nice find.
Sideshow, you're going to be one hell of a journalist.
Pretty much everything Hulk said was highly interesting.
Best interview.
