BOLD PREDICTIONS
China 2-3 South Korea
Edit: Darn
I feel like the French team has a lot of things to improve on, but their performance against China was great, but I'm not entirely sure how China as an opponent stacks up against other teams. What has also surprised me was Winz's ability to flex onto the Zen and play it at a great level. which allows Unkoe to sit on Mercy duty, they also have a great Junkrat from SoOn, and Junkrat was one of the heroes that gave South Korea a lot of trouble. I think they'll take two maps at most from Korea, due to their mappool compared to Korea's mappool.
France 1 - 3 Korea
I think this is going to be a very difficult match for France. We've seen how good Flex Tank play is key in winning matches and even though Nico really stepped up against China he was also often one of the first to go down/lose his mech.
SK are more than likely going to focus him down and build from there. France are going to have to be extremely efficient at targeting SK's supports which have shown to be a weakness when they run the Mercy.
In the end though I believe Team SK to be too strong and able to better capitalize on their opponent's weaknesses.
I think SK win 3-0, but the match may be closer than the score reflects, and honestly I'm hoping to once again be surprised with a high octane and exciting game of Overwatch.
Edit: Holy shit boyz, I did it! I no-lifed my way to my 4th star!

Down fraggin a guy after the fact is low boyz. Hindsight is 20/20, he's got balls for being this bold.
Involv3r [#14]aKm is styling on Fl0w3r on Pharah
But KnOxXx IS A NUT!
None of these 2 fuckers made it, it's a sad day.
I'm fucking pissed. How do you still stay in LOS of a Dva bomb when your Winston bubble is on top of it for more than a second. I legit don't get it. This is the only reason they lost this, uNKOE and I believe SoOn just botted.

Four stars monkaS
thaaad [#19]I always thought AKM was a great Pharah but he is really showing up right now, dominating the air battle.
aKm was the only one able to shut down Zza back in the Yikes/Arc6 days, everyone else got rolled. He's not an amazing Pharah, but when he's on a good day...
i feel like korea is fine with losing a first map and just use it to test the waters. flower wasn't performing well on pharah and they decided to stick on it anyway. despite this they win the map which is a bad sign for france this series. i think flower could have swapped to soldier at any time and it would have been much easier

makes no sense dude
docgeronto [#26]makes no sense dude
sticking on a comp to see what they get away with doesn't make sense? lol the same thing happened yesterday with team USA vs SK
Generation1 [#28]Rogue totally should've won the first map. That was a huge choke.
Rogue totally should've won the second map too. That was a huge choke :(
LaurenceR [#15]How aKm isn't in OWL is a mystery to me
I think we already knew the reason, or had an idea. Being it was a mix of teams thinking Rogue already had an OWL spot and by the time they knew Rogue wasn't going to be in the league many teams have already finalized their roster/already had enough hitscan DPS + the buyout was somewhat expensive.
I think the real mystery will be if he isn't signed mid season.
Game changing throws on all maps so far from France
First dying to diva ult and letting zunba resuit, causing them to lose map 1.
AKM roll with unkoe wasting mercy ult on numbani, means SK get higher timebank.
Bastion strat is risky, but them NiCO throws anyway staying in front of shield.
I get it's a high pressure situation but it's kind of mind boggling.
thaaad [#38]The perspective from some of these comments...
Just because France didn't win doesn't necessarily mean that they "threw" or "choked", why couldn't it be that SK clutched?
How is AKM rolling into his team and killing them SK clutching, or any of the other examples?

because they were fights lost due to mistakes by rogue and not by extraordinary plays by SK. A clutch means you win against the odds and a throw is losing despite the odds.

SK capitalizing on those mistakes is what made them win the maps. France capitalized on a lot of mistakes by SK as well. It happens. Just remember that France is not the only good team in this matchup.

but that's not clutching was my point... Clutching is winning a 1 v 3 or something. Capitalizing on a mistake is just doing your job. You should be capitalizing on mistakes.

In my mind clutching is when you win by pure mechanical skill in a tense or critical situation, not the other team throwing for you lol
Game is super close, I just feel like the scoreline could be different if not for those mistakes.

We might be watching a different match then, I saw a lot of great plays against the odds from both sides. It just seems like you are more willing to dismiss SK's good plays by calling them throws by France. We just have different viewpoints.

South Korea just choked now, France didn't clutch. See, there's a differnece.
Generation1 [#51]wtf is wrong with AKM? dude is playing like a fucking nut... you can literally tell he's like "You don't want me in OWL huh? well fucking watch this."
Agreed. I'm very surprised he's not in OWL. I would be willing to bet he ends up as a mid season pick up.
docgeronto [#58]aKm, Knoxx and Soon gods, Nico is a big weigh :(
Nicos genji is nutty and his D.Va has been acceptable but you can see where he lacks compared to Zunba, Mickie, and Coolmatt when he's put to the test.
ninya [#45]In my mind clutching is when you win by pure mechanical skill in a tense or critical situation, not the other team throwing for you lol

you are entitled to your opinions, but it doesn't mean they are right
the term "clutch" is commonly used as generation1 had described
LaurenceR [#56]Did South Korea forget they were playing one of the West's most dominant rosters? Cheese might work against some teams, but against a T1 team they know how to play around it.
Considering how Gibrralter is going, yea it seems they stopped playing around.
docgeronto [#66]GG strong performance from France, much closer than the score indicates...
Real rankings if trees had been fair :
1/ South Korea
2/ France/USA
3/ USA/France
4/ China
5/ Canada
6/ Sweden
If they would have seeded thew teams by rank SK(2) and USA(3) would have more than likely met in the SF so I think you example is probably accurate to en extent.

The 1st map was legitimately a throw/choke, two people died to a remeching dva ult when they had all the chances in the world to avoid it.
wentaway [#70]Matches were so close, gj to both teams.
A sign of hope for western teams? These koreans can be pretty arrogant (e.g. Hanamura).p.s. find a friggin OWL team for AKM!
And KnoXXX!
purple [#57]Korea literally throwing to give France a map
That's not true. France gave it their all.
Generation1 [#28]Rogue totally should've won the first map. That was a huge choke.
Boohoo cry more baby.
SK won that fair and square. And deservingly so.
Rogue put up a superb fight against South Korea, but you shouldn't discredit SK for playing their hearts out, too.
