The bigger question is if there'll even be a World Cup next year.

The bigger question is if there'll even be a World Cup next year.
Diem's like "Why am I even in this picture? I've already been playing DPS..."
It isn't like being a full Korean roster was doing them much good.
There's finally a Canadian on a Canadian team! Woo!
No, because the finals were FU against another NA team. Sorry, EU.
I know more players will be added by the coaches or whatever, but the all-star team starters should be voted by the OWL players or something. Leaving it up to the fans is a mistake.
Who’s ready for another clown fiesta?
Making fun of the struggles trans folk go through sure is an option. I don’t know why you would, but here we are.
I think it's really cool that OWL has such vocal fans, but I could definitely do without the screeching...
That's ridiculous. The captain gets to hold the cup first in the NHL and then it gets passed around the team, which makes far more sense. OWL should follow that example.
They gave the trophy to the team owner. The fuck?
It sure seems like shotcalling is Dallas’ biggest issue. That and the way they seem to just give up. They clearly weren’t even trying on Numbani.
Babybay has been really impressive throughout this match. He's known for his 76, but he's shown a surprisingly deep hero pool.
That was so over the top, I couldn't help but laugh.
AKM is the biggest no brainer of the bunch. It's crazy he isn't already on a team.
EnVision beating Immortals at the beginning of Contenders S1 seemed like a huge upset before we saw Immortals' performance for the rest of the season.
I’m glad Korea looked mortal this year. It gives some hope that OWL might actually be competitive.
I never expected to see attack Torb in a pro game and I certainly never expected it to work.
Getting a map is enough for me. I'm now satisfied by this match.
You felt so strongly about this, you had to post it in two different places?
This match was even closer than the score would indicate. Great showing from both teams.
Mercy ruins everything.
I'm not sure how you determine Russia to be better than Canada when they actually played each other and Canada won. It was a super close game, though, so I wouldn't even say one team is notably better than the other.
JUSTICE FOR REINFORCE!
All down to a single point.
It's nice to see Team South Korea's mortal. I don’t think it'll happen this time, but there's always next year...
Monte pulling some wrestling shenanigans!
As much as I wanted the series to continue, it would've been heartbreaking if France lost Junkertown after that crazy overtime push.
So many fantastic moments today. I love it.
El Presidente seems to be the pro team comp of choice for the first point of Junkertown.
That's the Chinese team I was expecting. Sanctum was a warm up, I guess.
I don't care for XQC's stream, but he was a rock for Canada. Just solid play throughout. Also, Mangachu's Pharah is always a joy to watch.
Exactly. I get that he's impressively skilled, but maybe Dafran just wants to have some fun playing Overwatch without having to worry about all the pressure of streaming or esports. Nothing wrong with that. Maybe he actually does want to come back, but either way, people should just let him do his own thing.
He may not want another chance. The whole reason he did what he did is because he couldn’t deal with being a pro Overwatch player.
LiNkzr is nuts.
Dafran made it clear he didn't enjoy being a pro Overwatch player. Him not being in OWL is best for everyone involved.
The crowd seems to be cheering for Gigantti. I wonder if that's because of the whole Team Sweden thing or if it's just because they're the underdog.
I don't like that. The game has enough maps that there's no reason to have any repeats.
Definitely. I like Grim. I just don't think his Tracer is OWL caliber.
It's possible Immortals' recent trouble has been communication (the number of times they C9ed or took too long to get back on a point suggests this is the case). If so, replacing Fate and Kariv to solve that wouldn't be totally crazy. I don't know how good Fate's english is, but Kariv seems to struggle. I assume Soon would replace GrimReality, who tends to be inconsistent.
I was hoping Rogue would stick around for future Contenders seasons and then get into the second season of OWL. I wasn’t a fan, but there’s no denying their talent. AKM, in particular, not getting an OWL spot is pants-on-head crazy.
Wait. I thought Numlocked wasn't going to be playing this weekend. Is my memory lying to me?
That doesn't mean she won't come back in a few months.
And winning OWC doesn't even really mean anything. It's just for bragging rights. Now UK needs to wipe the floor with Sweden.
It would be silly to drastically change the meta in the middle of a tournament. It would kind of invalidate the last 6 weeks.
That might've been the most exciting game this entire season.
This is like the first week of Contenders all over again.
There were some talented players on Bazooka Puppiez. Just because they couldn't make it work as a team doesn't mean individual players aren't good enough to get a spot on an OWL team.
