The rematch we're waiting for
Rogue pretty much need a win here to keep their playoff hopes alive. Assuming that FNRGFE wins against RNG they have to get a huge win here, possibly even needing a 4-0 to get as many map wins as they can on top of hoping that EnVision doesn't get a single map, else they'll be tied in map wins (max of 16 for Rogue) with EnVision having won the head to head.
In the end though I think Envy win 3-1, I'll be very interested in seeing how this match goes now that Rogue are back in their optimal playing environment.
Personally I'd really like them to make it through along with Envy, FaZe and EnVision to the playoffs but we'll see how that turns out.
I may be wrong, but if Faze wins 4-0 against Envision, FNRGFE wins Renegades 4-0 and Rogue wins against Envyus 3-2, then both Rogue and FNRGFE will got to the playoffs and Envision will be out.
All 3 teams will have 4 wins and 3 losses with Rogue at 17 MW, FNRGFE at 16 MW and Envision at 15 MW.
That is the only scenario I can think of it for both corndog and rogue going to LAN.
More than anything else I just want to see a competitive match. I know Rogue has been slumping and players like Soon and AKM have fallen off significantly but they are still a dangerous team, certainly one capable of an upset.
Envy however is just so solid, stable and experienced at this point. They are all so comfortable in their roles and more than capable of flexing to multiple heroes on the fly.
3-1 Envy but hoping for 3-2 Rogue just to make things interesting.
Although Envy has been unreal recently, a huge reason for Rogue's poor first half of Contenders was the fact that they weren't playing in Vegas. they were playing from hotels in Canada on shitty pc's. Then when they got back to the Vegas teamhouse they started playing better again and winning again.
Taking the fact that they are back in Vegas and that they beat Envy last time they matched up against each other, 3-2 (which I think a lot of people have completely forgotten), this is gonna be a close one. I hope Rogue wins.
Easy fixes could have 4-0'd it for Envy. First, switch to the zarya, rein comp immediately on point C attack Numbani. Second, don't overextend during the last few seconds of Point B defense of Gibraltar.
The fact that the match came down to these small, but important fixes, means Rogue made it fairly close.
