Continuing the current trend of online Overwatch tournaments, the Overwatch Alienware Monthly Melee returns for its March edition. The Monthly Melee will see eight invited teams compete over a two day span, March 18th and 19th, for their claim to a share of the $10,000 prizepool. Last month we saw the recently reborn Rogue roster demolish their competition - dropping only one map over the course of the entire tournament. Despite not reclaiming their throne at the top, LG Evil put up a strong performance continuing their claim at the top of the current North American Overwatch scene.
So what’s new this month? For one, this edition of the Monthly Melee is essentially an international online championship with Brasil Gaming House and RunAway joining the NA teams for a chance to prove themselves despite ping disadvantages. The road for these international teams will not be easy as both LG Evil and Rogue return to compete in the Melee and re-assert their dominance. This edition also sees the return of Fnatic to the NA scene after their trip to APEX Season 2. This also will be one of the last tournaments prior to the introduction of Overwatch’s 24th hero: Orisa on March 21st.
