Hopefully NRG is actually competitive
laseralpaca [#6]I predict NRG disbands after this tournament.

can't imagine they would disband because they lost to t3 competition online

They are gonna most likely stick for atleast 2 more lan tournaments no matter the results imo, no point in changing if you haven't tried everything already.
Sideshow [#11]For a lot of these NA teams it seems like they just wanna ride out this patch and hope for less tanks in the future.
Well Kungarna and such are dickriding into toptier fully becouse World of Tanks tbh
Avast [#16]For clarification people think flex (the guy who gets banned) = babybay
Yeah, Forgot to add that.
underchemist [#20]but does that actually look like aimbotting? I can't really tell
Just some cheeky inhuman tracking, I didnt say he would be aimbotting ;)

I'd just like to note that at this moment my comment sits and -4, and by disband i meant a major reshuffle of the roster. If you think that doesn't have a very good chance of happening after mlg vegas, well then downvote away. Seagull can play on an elite team, but his friends can't. He needs to get out of his comfort zone to win among tier 1 teams.

NRG definitely seem more lost than most on their selections.
NRG seems to be set in their ways with Genji/Tracer cancer comp vs triple/quad tank in the current meta. They definitely needs to do some reorganizing or just disband altogether. I really wonder how long they are going to last with such inflexible roster. I feel bad for Seagull, almost all his comfort heroes have fallen out of the meta, though Zarya/Mei is still somewhat marketable nowadays, hopefully they can find a comp that works.
I'd really love to hear from their mouths the reasoning behind the comps they've been running. These are all really smart, mechanically inclined guys. It's impossible for me to believe they keep running Genji/Tracer because they're simply not skilled enough at the other heroes to do anything differently.
Alora [#29]From Dummy's stream he said "We''re at our rock bottom. No one seems to listen to the comms".
If we are talking about the same stream, then I am fairly sure that he said that they are still having some trouble with communication, but that they are improving. They have hit rock bottom earlier, but they are definitely climbing back up.
According to Dummy, they have some kind of tank-counter strat that they weren't able to properly execute due to some mistakes.
Alora [#29]From Dummy's stream he said "We''re at our rock bottom. No one seems to listen to the comms".
To be fair that's not a direct quote. He said we were at rock bottom on like day 2 or 3 of the WP qualifiers when they lost to unsigned teams, and the context of the comment were strictly these qualifiers, since he then followed up with "we did a lot better on day 4".
Then the comms thing was a separate comment which basically amounted to "we tunnel vision too much", not that no one is listening to comms. In fact he kinda defended some of their comp choices.
Anyway, they keep talking about improving, but if you're improving at this pace you're never going to catch any of the tier 1 teams.
tfw you really want to watch this but don't want to stay up until 5 am

Justin_Time [#38]NRG would be pretty good if ults didn't exist.
So basically if Overwatch wasn't a DMless shitfest of a game
The problem with this meta in particular for NRG is that it exacerbates their weak points and takes away their strong points that were somewhat keeping them afloat before.
They have strong DMers with clockwork, seagull, and engima but this meta the DPS roles are extremely weak due to huge healthpools and burst healing.
They have weaker communication and teamplay/strategy than their top team counterparts (fnatic cloud9 etc..) which the tank meta requires
Overall bad days ahead for NRG because regardless of the meta shift they were certainly having problems before.
clockwork and numlocked were signed in a meta where dps heroes were more prevalent. NRG were just unlucky with this new tank-heavy meta as a team whose cornerstones were always on those heroes. I don't expect them to pull out a win next time unless they have the confidence to use the heroes they excelled in.
I doubt Clockwork needs replacing, but they really need him to be practicing on everything that isn't Tracer. Let's be honest, he sucked on Roadhog, and both times he tried to play Tracer the rest of the team didn't have the versatility to play around him even when he was doing work. Whether that's because they're not capable of playing the heroes needed or because Clock is playing too unpredictably for his own team, I don't know, but the way this meta is shaping up he really needs to fill a deeper flex role.
I mean, the reason they brought clockwork was so he could play Tracer, so enigma could play Zarya and seagull could play dps on Koth. That only lasted for one round. Then seagull went back to zarya, enigma on tracer and clockwork on roadhog.
Don't get me wrong, Seagull did very good Zarya and from his streams he often says he likes playing her, but I don't think that was their initial plan. Both clockwork and enigma played tracer and both Seagull and enigma played zarya on that map. I think it was Flame that pointed out that all those role swaps could have caused problems.
Alora
don't understand why NRG are so conservative with ults, it's like they hold onto it for ten years
The idea was using Hanzo/Pharah ults with Graviton but in both occasions the graviton took forever to charge and got eaten by D.va. Still, I agree and it definitely didn't payed off since they lost a fight when they had 6 ults.
