While I’m sure I’ll still be watching some of the matches this stage, if only just for the tokens, my interest in this stage has significantly decreased. Pretty lame to be playing on a patch that was live for 2 days. They really dropped the ball here on this one.

This is so shitty. Probably the worst patch the game has ever had is the one they will play on. Even on the current patch I'm seriously considering quitting overwatch. Unless something changes and they stop making extremely easy heroes better than hard to play heroes when each are being played to full potential........ If things keep going in this direction though I think I will quit. They are trying so hard to cater to new players and I don't think even the new players will like it.

Wasn't the Mercy meta the worst one?

I know I'll get tons of downfrags for this, but honestly, who has ever believed that OW was going to be the next big competitive FPS shooter?

They never wanted for it to be a pure FPS shooter, from the get go, Mercy was in with team resses, Torbjorn was in, you already had all the tanks,etc...

Players (not just OW players) should just stop asking devs to modify existing games to cater to their needs, there are (and will be) plenty of FPS shooters, why did everyone jump into OW expecting it to be what Blizzard didn't want it to be?

I used to play a lot of Dirty Bomb (which was available before OW), the game "died" even before it was born, 'cause people jumped on the OW wagon, due to Blizzard being known to deliver amazing games (and also Dirty Bomb having a lot of issues), and guess what? They did it again, just is not what people looking for a pure FPS want, well move to another game.

I'm not even talking about fps games. I'm talking about all the mechanics. Of course heroes with hitscan abilities are going to have the highest skill ceilings. But I think more heroes SHOULD have high skill ceilings. (Not that they have to be hitscan! There are plenty of difficult heroes that aren't.) Briggite doesn't. The only ability she has that takes any mechanics is her whip shot. I feel like heroes should either take great aim, great brains, or both. And she doesn't require any of those things atm. Can you imagine if symmetra was the best hero in the game? But also the easiest to play? That wouldn't make any sense. Imo the heroes that hold the most sway over whether a game is won or lost should also be the most difficult to master. And no I didn't enjoy the mercy meta but I think this is worse. Listen she will be the most powerful hero in this owl meta, and SKILLRAT will be her best counter. That is depressing.

It would make the most sense to keep the brig nerf but hold off on the hanzo rework. Although hanzo really doesnt seem to be that far off balance.

You don't have 1.22 on lan OWL servers till 1 day before stage 4 starts. Hoping you'll fix this bug. Lol

The community has to play with that hanzo live, so eat ur own rework and see how it tastes. No one asked for a hanzo rework, tweak to scatter arrow was all. Every hero doesn't need to be viable only to get nerfed again in an endless circle. Want to talk about reworks, try doomfist who was rolled out recently and is buggy as hell gets no love in comp.

Gonna watch the dragons vs Dallas. Then I'll watch those numbers drop weekly by another 20 percent like in stage 3.

If you're going to not play on the live patch, they should have at least had the decency to just play stage 4 on the stage 3 patch. It's much better for players and viewers to watch a months-old patch that was played in comp for a long time than a patch viewers don't even remember that existed for 2 days.

I'm really disappointed that we won't be able to see the new hanzo in action. At least blizzard world is a little bit better now and only Hanamura is the boring map.

Hopefully Blizzard can find a way to bring OWL more in line with their patches, or even better the other way around.

From my point of view they are trying to get their feet in 2 shoes, on a side the competitive environment (OWL spceifically) which requires stability for the teams to be able and practice, on the other the casual playerbase (and by casual I mean whoever isn't a pro paid to play) who can't stand playing a broken hero/patch for months.

Since they are investing so much into the competitive scene, I'd say that would probably better for them to delay live patches (for everyone) so that they land in-between stages or seasons of OWL.

To everybody (mainly reddit) saying that owl should be in hanzo rework patch to avoid having a discrepancy between live and owl : sleepy has a good point

He said in a tweet that hanzo will be nerfed soon, and see a drop in pick rate and a new meta will emerge. So whichever patch blizzard choose there would be a discrepancy anyway. Except that if owl rolls on the new patch then the pros will be stuck with broken hanzo for the whole stage duration
