foxes [#6]Dallas is too talented and experienced to go 0-3 ..... right? I'm not sure what has exactly happened to Taimou but DF overall seems to lack firepower where they didn't before. Either way looking forward to Link vs. EFFECT duels.
3-1 DF.
They surely came out bruised and scarred after that game against the Dynasty and gonna bounce back this time. Or at least that's just my opinion. Getting real scared for the Fuel
majkel1893 [#10]less xQc more Cocco and more mickie for the motivational speeches.
cocco should only be in when a rein is needed. Kings row, that's it. He gets outperformed by xQc on evertything else.

well u all look from the hero perspective but u also need to look from the mental and team chemestry perspective and they dont have it yet with xQc D:
Okay for real though. Houston is coming off a confidence boosting game, even though it was just against Shanghai, and Dallas is practically looking at a must win game, unless they want to be facing a possible 0-4 start. I hope they are motivated by that, and not discouraged. I believe the first game will set the pace for the rest of the series; if Dallas loses on Junkertown I could see them giving up again, even if it's just unconsciously. I hope some of the teamwork they've been doing on stream (and presumably in scrims) will pay off. These two teams have already done a 3-2. I think they will again. I'm betting on DAL 3-2 HOU.
Edit: Ignore this post. I was memeing, and it was in poor taste. I'm sorry. Please refer to my real prediction at the top.

Correct. Don't get me wrong. I love xqc. But they are obviosly putting him in as much as possible to get him experience at lan, with the team, and vs other OWL teams. It's a tactic that could pay off in the long term and DF are clearly not afraid to use it.
Really excited for this one. I'm not a huge fan of either teams but if I had to pick a side based on the players i like the most it would have to be Dallas.
That being said I think Houston has a very real chance of winning this since they seem to be better against teams that can't dive well. I think this might actually come down to how...effective EFFECT is...YYYEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
But jokes aside, if EFFECT is able to hard carry Dallas I'm not sure Houston has someone that can really deal with him like LAV had.
In the end I think this will be another huge 5 set match and that Dallas will win 3-2.
lol.
Kyky what are you thinking? Mickie is just a (massively overrated) dva main with a passable Zarya. If they wanted to run that Roadhog comp, why leave Taimou out?
The have to win this series already, so early in the season. Losing this would put them what, 6 games behind Seoul, make it 7 given they will likely sweep Boston.
Crazy player choice on Junkertown.
hamsolo [#35]Dallas player selection is mind boggling. They look tactically inept and bereft of ideas. KyKy needs to shoulder the blame if he made the call. Dallas are a shambles.
I can't imagine KyKy being headcoach for much longer. This team is non-existent.
Hitchcock [#40]I can't imagine KyKy being headcoach for much longer. This team is non-existent.
His/their best work was done as Envy. Revert to what you know. Dallas look fucked.
hamsolo [#42]1 Take the best in the west - Envy.
2 Break up the starting roster.
3 Dallas Fuel.

caganisso [#32]if seagull is on OWL even my grandmother can be a pro.
Well Mayhem might be looking for players as they only have a 6 man roster. First woman in OWL incoming?

a team that is favoured to finish between 3rd-5th place going 0-3 nice :)
hamsolo [#49]No Taimou again...
No substitutions after they got destroyed on the first two maps: I am speechless
danielbatmanj [#53]i dont like how people have all of a sudden pulled a 180 on the dallas fuel. remember, they dominated in the previous meta. they are still learning how to play this meta and how to play with their new players.
what? which meta they dominated?

Dallas have influenced the 180 by some, nothing else.
Right now, they're a complete mess.

I still support them, but I don't understand their thinking. They have one of the best roadhogs in Taimou, sub him out for Mickie, then have Mickie run Roadhog. There must be stuff behind the scenes cos that just doesn't make logical sense
F1NAL [#55]what? which meta they dominated?
the one where they won contenders, or maybe the one where they won apex and mlg vegas
thinking it comes down to over half the team being quite burned out, when it comes to overwatch, at this point (thinking, no taimou for a reason....he probably can't be arsed to give 110% at this point) and Mickie is painfully underwhelming on everything but Dva, they should have seagull play off tanks(which i always thought they brought him in for), maybe give Harry a chance as dps or something, this team needs some kind of spark of motivation.

so basically in 2016? wow
nidaleejuices [#70]When a coach can't get proven all star players to perform he needs to be replaced. It is really that simple. It happens in real sports all the time and since OW is trying to be real sports they need to cut KykY and get a real coach, maybe even a KOREAN!
I disagree. It can be like a puzzle, sure you have all the pieces but it can take time to find the way they fit together.

They need someone doing something what Harry does as a support. When NV swapped Harry to DPS they did great but they lacked Effect back then. Harry + Effect would be a great dps duo.

dominating a meta by winning 1 single na only tournament... didnt know it works that way

Except that with Dallas it wasn't supposed to be a puzzle. People expected Dallas to be good ESPECIALLY at the beginning of the season because of their proven core. But that core got dismantled by random substitutions and now nobody on the team seems to have a clue what they wanna play.
Hitchcock [#40]I can't imagine KyKy being headcoach for much longer. This team is non-existent.
well thats a little reactive lol
hamsolo [#80]Break out the broom, we got a sweep.
Dallas are fucked. Houston have erased the Phillie blip. Clockwork won't be seen a great deal more.
There was no Clockwork needed in that match
I just don't understand what's going on with Dallas:
what's the point of having Taimou if Effect is going to play hitscan over him, Mickie is going to play Roadhog over him and Seagull is the designated projectile specialist?
what was the point of picking up Custa, a Zenyatta specialist if they are going to put him on Mercy (which he was clearly not performing well on) and put chips on Zen?
I'm just so confused by so many decisions that DF is making, let alone how they are playing.
SKYTRiXSHA [#83]There was no Clockwork needed in that match
Linkzr is the better Tracer on that team imo, so if he can flex when needed they can keep Jake in for his calls and Junkrat.
zero [#20]If Taimou stops playing like a donkey, Dallas has a good chance to win.
Taimou was the problem LOOOOOOOOOL 4Head
At this point Dallas’s gameplan is have Effect pop off. If he doesn’t do that, and looses Widow duels, like we’ve seen today and against Valiant, they are screwed. Why Taimou wasn’t in the game is beyond me, why Custa is even playing is baffling, I haven’t seen him make a single good play so far. They aren’t running xQc on Junkertown, which is so good for Orisa, and xQc has proven himself to be a fantastic Orisa player. I have no idea what I Dallas is doing, KyKy needs to stop dicking around and actually try and win a game. Losing to Seoul is fine, even getting swept by LAV isn’t the end of the world. But losing to Outlaws is humiliating. I have no idea what Dallas is even doing anymore. They need to fix their shit and actually perform like a team and not Effect and the Streamers
Houston outplayed Dallas pretty hard on this one. I will say this though, even though the casters were praising Jake for his Genji I can't say he was hard carrying on it, just doing his job and cleaning up fight with Dragon Blade. His Pharah was also a bit underwhelming but it's pretty clear that his presence alone is a plus for the team so as long as he's not feeding I don't see a reason not to have him in.
As for Dallas they seem to have the same issue that Misfits previously. I wonder if having Seagull grind Genji so he can be at a level where they can actively use him with EFFECT and probably xQc and run dive when appropriate.
I mentioned this is my prediction but cutting down EFFECT's impact on the game was key here imo. If he can't get into your backline the rest of the team is much less threatening and I'm not sure what the solution is, but I feel like they need a few comfort comps/strats that they can reliably run.
Lastly though I can still see why Houston was able to handle Dallas so easily and imo that still pertains to their lack of a strong dive comp that they can run. To me, the next step for Houston is to get a win against a team that can dive them effectively so we can see if they are able to hang with the top teams. Seoul, London, LAV and to some extent NYXL should all tell us more about how they deal with having to play on the back foot instead of just playing with a tactical lead.
My expectations for Houston have risen, and even though I think they should make the playoffs, I'm still not sure if they're contenders for the top.
caganisso [#48]a team that is favoured to finish between 3rd-5th place going 0-3 nice :)
I mean, the first two sets they won 2/3 maps they put him in for (Junkertown x 2, Illios). Can't say he's specifically to blame.
If you look at the actual results, it went like this:
They lost a super-tight series to Dynasty, a great team.
They were convincingly ground out by Valiant, a very good team.
They got rolled by Outlaws, a low-mid-tier team.
That looks a lot like terrible, terrible tilt. Seagull can't be the cause of all that.
Humble, soft-spoken, team-first players will outperform cocky individualistic all-stars every time. That's why Korea always wins, and that's why Dallas was bound to burn out eventually. It's telling that Effect refused the chance to play for Lunatic Hai because Envy would give him more playing time. Dallas' players are neurotic and unable to play together despite their incredible talent. Dallas has players who get tilted. Houston has Coolmatt and Muma.

This whole analysis is stupid. Words like "neurotic" assume serious mental problems with players on the team, something you know literally nothing about. I highly doubt you are a doctor, I highly doubt you personally know any of these players. How do you know that the reason they lose is that they get tilted? You know literally nothing about their team, their mentality, how they are coached, etc. etc. etc. So assuming you do is just stupid.

Apologies. I should have used a better term. What I meant to say is that the team doesn't coordinate well which makes the individual decisions look impulsive. As for the tilt factor, Dallas won the initial fight on both control stages and on both offense and defense on Eichenwalde, but looked worse as the round went on. This doesn't guarantee that tilt was involved but it does point to tilt being a possible factor.

Maybe he needs a promotion then. This is NOT just about line ups, team culture looks wrong. Kyky could never get the old c9 roster back on track when they started fumbling and was eventually cut because of it... he won't be able to get this roster back on track either. Something needs to change.

Envyus's dominance over NA has never been indicative of their matchups versus the top teams from the rest of the world.
See: Overwatch Open, Gamescom, APEX S2/3. APEX was an amazing win, no doubt, but it's been over a year since then. It should also be said that their APEX championship came with a perfect storm of everything working out for them.

Have you watched some of tiamou's stream? He often sounds and acts literally like a lunatic. I'd be hardcore surprised if he is not a junkie. If he went into a proper regular workplace in that giggling-junkie state you can see him on his streams, the boss would probably send him home immediately, or even fire him. The whole guy is as much a big piece of cringe 90% of the time as only a cringy kid can be constantly high on something very unhealthy.

We got a reddit doctor coming out of hiding boys. Would you mind telling me what degree you have? You're qualified to make psychological statements on his mental health and personality, right?

That is a streaming personality. Just like HarryHook who laughs all the time.
