Why do the casters insist on saying that the US were expected to win the Cup? South Korea.... Maybe??
If the Dragons played Dallas today they would've gotten their first Win 100%. Dallas is completely broken right now.
Soe reports that KyKy wants AKM to "pick up the Genji role".
Every sane person's reaction: ... WHY THO?
and then you put AKM on Genji. Makes perfect sense. Kappa
Dallas is becoming a mystery to me. Just when you think the team stabilizes they play a map like this round on Hanamura. Zero coordination on attack, that legit looked like quickplay. Plus Effect having maybe the worst map performance of his career. They need to adjust. Fast.
Tobi unchained! PogChamp
Tbf these polygon articles DO exist (it's polygon after all): https://www.polygon.com/2018/1/18/16896858/overwatch-league-women-esports-sexism-geguri
But yeah: I don't see any problem here. If geguri plays well everything's gonna be fine for the Dragons.
EFFECT won't play FeelsBadMan

Dallas seems to have given up. No EFFECT, no strategy, no energy. But hey: they all got a personal trainer now..
Seriously this team is turning into a joke.
It was the spectator bug. Custa has confirmed that Effect didn't see the stick on his screen. https://twitter.com/Custa/status/959920830393151492

Judging by Effect's stream pretty bad. He said "We just realized how bad we are" FeelsBadMan
Except that with Dallas it wasn't supposed to be a puzzle. People expected Dallas to be good ESPECIALLY at the beginning of the season because of their proven core. But that core got dismantled by random substitutions and now nobody on the team seems to have a clue what they wanna play.
Now Taimou comes in when the match is lost. KyKy seems to be trolling right now
No substitutions after they got destroyed on the first two maps: I am speechless
I can't imagine KyKy being headcoach for much longer. This team is non-existent.
Dallas is looking barely stronger than Shanghai right now. FeelsBadMan
It's getting real embarrassing for Fuel now with the C9s. They look even worse than vs Valiant so far.
If you're talking about the big steamers xqc and seagull: they are new to this team.
and they joined what is by far the most successful western overwatch-team (envyus). so yeah, your comment is pretty much bs.
(i do also think that they rely too much on a carry-performance by effect tho)
DF completely fell apart. What a huge disappointment.
THAT MATCH OMG PogChamp
I'm so glad he's back!
that match is already more HYPE than the last two put together. all these hero swaps!
I feel like the Dragons lost as soon as they didn't choose to pick up the entire roster of MY.
When sinatraa turns 18 he's gonna pull it all around for the Shock Kappa
Taimou has become such an inconsistent player FeelsBadMan
wtf envyus? they look horrible. what's going on?
Ok, I missed the first two maps, but I just saw the Gladiators getting absolutely slaughtered at Ilios. WTF happened at Junkertown? Does GC Busan hate the pirateship strat or what?
there is a chatbox on MLG TV if u happen to have an account on this platform LUL
I seriously just found out that this won't be on twitch. I mean... AVGN voice: WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

With the new spectator mode and Blizzard really drawing in new viewers, I think OWL can indeed be a success. The World Cup definitely got me hyped up for what is coming.
despite the horrible mercy meta, that match is awesome. great overwatch!
Flow3r making this Rated R
SK too stubborn to adapt to this meta. tobi looked lost on the mercy
2cp with this mercy meta is actually the worst
neither is Eileen 4Head
150K viewers. Is that a new Record? PogChamp
EFFECT = Tracer God, Taimou = Widow God.
"We should give Dallas Fuel a featured Genji Skin" 4Head
All focus on popular DPS players is exactly what I expected from NRG. I think they are gonna stay a meme.
London suddenly the biggest threat to Seoul in OWL! PogChamp
I remember Envy losing to X6 in last season's quarterfinal. Just saying. In fact I also saw a team called MVP space getting ranked from "easily the worst" to "easily the best" team in group A just because of 1 match. they placed 3rd in the end.
That being said, I'm not convinced yet that Busan is a better team than LH. We'll see.
A lot of the reactions to these matches are so over the top. I think it's Twitch chat rubbing off.
It wouldn't surprise me if NRG signs the most expensive roster.... despite Seoul eating them alive. FailFish
Lost 4-0? - Then just randomly hire famous players and cross your fingers that they will miraculously form a great team.
I highly doubt this NRG-esque move will succeed.
I get what you're saying but is it really likely that they will buy rosters off the traditional esports orgs to form their team? They might also take the NRG approach of buying big streamers who have no team chemistry whatsoever but bring in the sponsors.. Sounds like Doom & Gloom but I'm really worried that this will flop hard. (The Like/Dislike ratio on the youtube announcement also indicates that I'm not the only one having mixed feelings about this)
Correct me if I'm wrong here: So will Envyus, Rogue, Lunatic Hai, Kongdoo Panthera, LW Blue etc. all not compete in this league?
If so then this could be the biggest flop in esports ever. Looks like a huge financial bubble to me and the symbol of it gonna be NRG who are not even Tier 4 anymore but nevertheless buy a slot in an artifcially constructed money league. I sincerely hope I'm not getting this right..
Haven't seen such a Hype match in a while
How can people still underestimate Koreans when it comes to esports? LUL
Carpe could be very interesting for NV considering that Taimou wants to take a break now.
