I'm sure they'd accept a replacement if there were visa issues. Sharyk is not russian but he played for team Russia in the qualifiers.

Well xQc just said on Ult Advantage podcast that they have found someone to play for them, still a feelsbad for Tonic but hopefully the LAN gods will be with them come game time.

posted about 7 years ago

I'm guessing it'll be safe to assume the new addition will be an offtank player. Space ? PogChamp

Same situation with 123 needing to replace Tonic, they need a main tank that hasn’t played in S1 yet. Nothing to do with popularity. .

Same. That game was nuts. Especially considering that Hidan and Ryb were just brought in to replace Skipjack and Zaprey.

Atlantic Showdown and Overwatch Open were good tourneys tbh, and LAN too. Other than that it was just OMMs and small ones here and there.

Danteh was fine on Dva, nothing too shiny, but I doubt he enjoyed it. I'm guessing you're relating this to the new SF roster, I'm pretty sure that Babybay will take the Dva role, as noted by Bane #41, his twitter bio says he's the DPS/Offtank player in the team.

posted about 7 years ago

The roster was not the same according to xQc. Strong looking roster though, but legitimate concern as not having an offtank player has proven to be a delicate situation for many teams.
They have the best in game leader and solid players so it should be fun. Redistributes the cards for the teams that haven't been announced yet, the FA market is very promising. I also wonder if they'll still add players to the squad or if this is the final form of SFOW.

As mentioned here, Wolf says that LW Blue will represent NY in OWL. I know it was a rumour for the longest time, but I never saw an official statement or anything about it.

Same here my man, one of the nicest guys in the scene. Really happy for him.

Dude Danteh was the designated Dva/Zarya for Yikes before Space joined (was still the designated Zarya then). His Genji is nutty too tf you saying ? Zza played Genji like once or twice total...
Babybay is putting time into Genji and Dva lately, you don't improve magically, happens by practice, and they still have 3+ months before the league starts.

This team will not win games unless Sinatraa just happens to play out of his mind all the time. The whole team hinges on Sinatraa just killing everyone.

I literally can't figure out what to answer to this lmao.

XQC said they were better then the "current" Rouge, who back then were dominating and they would be the first "Super Roster". I don't see how they can be anywhere near EnvyUs' level

https://clips.twitch.tv/RichCarelessShrimpCopyThis
Here's xQc talking about the released NRG roster. They do really lack a flex player but time will tell, they got some crazy good players in there.

Also strongly disagree with points 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.

I think Babybay will run Genji and Dva, it's what he's been playing lately on stream. Iddqd will be hitscan obviously, Danteh flexing around (I think he plays more Pharah too).
Also #17, Nomy was rolling when he was on IMT, it was triple tank meta but his Rein was a joy. He had consistent visa issues which might've not done him a favour. And Super's monkey is top notch too, idk what you talking about, plus his offtanks are really good too.

posted about 7 years ago

I'm guessing they'll put in different players depending on which tanks they're going with.

posted about 7 years ago

Yooo NRG actually rolls social media wise, that reveal video is sick.

posted about 7 years ago

Nomy AND Super ? IDDQD AND Babybay ? Danteh AND Sinatraa ?
Don't get me wrong, they got some sick players in there, but this seems redundant. If this is like the OpTic leak, I'll wait for it to be official, even though it's highly likely that this will be the roster. Leaks like these are not good imo.

Happy to see Super and dhaK get in. Will be fun watching this squad.

Ok after thought, I think Super will be the starting tank but he'll run Hog and Nomy will sub in. But the other 4 is still a mystery to me, 4 top DPS players though..

Given who's on the flex support market, he's not on top of the list in my eyes. Roolf, Shake, uNKOE and maybe Rawkus (if FaZe doesn't get a picked up) are still a level above him in my eyes. No hate here, just an honest opinion. But I do understand your point about blind skepticism.
Chemistry also plays a big role in forming a team so who knows, plus the way he tweeted about some news he'll announce soon sounded like a good thing.

posted about 7 years ago

Danteh is not a hitscan player though, nor is Sinatraa. Genji Tracer and Zarya are the heroes they played at pro level most of the time, and Danteh had extra time on Dva and Sombra for a few games. Sinatraa I think is playing more hitscans lately I'm guessing to fill that role.

Now I didn't know who Danteh was until he got picked up by Yikes so I'm not aware of his past, but I could see him being passive agressive with his comments in game sometimes. He's a great player too though.

Actually better, you can get some canadian fans in as well, how genius of me, Kaaappa.

I don't know if they do it seriously enough. It's just like Bastion's ironclad drama all over again, to a lesser degree the recent Hanzo ult buff that has been canceled, Junkrat with two 120 dmg mines, how did that shit make it to the live servers is still beyond my understanding.

Also, I don't think the pros were ever exaggerating about any buffs/nerfs throughout the game's lifespan, so why not give them priority feedback and actually make the game better.
And I strongly believe that if all heroes are in a good spot at the highest level, they'll eventually be at the lowest.

And this isn't a complaint, this is legitimate concern. And as long as it's not the best way, it's not the only way. I'm sure they have a lot to deal with, but ranked is a mess on many fucking levels, observing tools are not in a good state, the last two patches have been underwhelming to say the least. I know they're trying but this isn't enjoyable at all.

posted about 7 years ago

I don't think anybody here argues the fact that he could be replaced, it's more that he actually got replaced. Adding Snillo in my eyes is an upgrade to the team, but the guy gets cut from his team, is left LFT a few months before OWL and now gets this taken away too.
OWWC is way more serious this time around, but it still is a showing competition. Unless he did something worth cutting, the guy earned his spot fair and square imo.

posted about 7 years ago

That could definitely be a start and will probably tone her down to a reasonable level.
I'm seriously questioning whether Blizzard runs these changes seriously before letting get through PTR.

That Mangachu tweet was about being able to go back to spawn, swap to something and then swap back to get your abilities back (be it Dva to get Mech back or Mercy to get res or whatever), not about Mercy herself (pretty sure about this unless there was another tweet I didn't see).
And Mercy wasn't broken before, she was garbage (bad kinda broken), which is why she never saw any play time in pro play if the team wasn't running a Pharah. She was 'good' in ranked simply because it's solo queue.

Taimou said yesterday that new Mercy would get a 100% pick rate in pro play too. She's invincible for 20 seconds; Winston can't even get to her with a double jump on certain maps btw, her GA speed is crazy and the slingshot bug is actually legit broken. AND YOU HAVE TO LOOK IN THE AIR FOR SO LONG.
So now, instead of Mercy hiding for res, we get a whole team babysitting a potential res.

So no, as much as I like watching Pharah, this iteration of Mercy will not make it into tournaments.

posted about 7 years ago

Mercy will get nerfed eventually. No way she makes it out into pro play as is right now. A bunch of pro players already said she's just plain broken, just a question of time.

LG Evil would arguably the most fan-friendly full american squad. With how the meta is slightly moving away from full on dive 24/7, I feel like they'd do miles better.

posted about 7 years ago

I agree with most of what you're saying but calling people braindead for not seeing what you see isn't productive my doggie.

posted about 7 years ago

Same could be said for Realzx and Roolf for example. By the time Blizzcon hits, they wouldn't have competed for at least a few months. Sure Reinforce's case is different, there are a couple other equal if not better options, but still, you stand by your friends no matter what imo, especially in a tight ecosystem as OW is as of now.
Options are there but they don't have to go with them. It comes down to a choice at the end.

I'm not even a big fan of Reinforce, but the guy was there from the start of the competition, it is scummy what they did to him in this instance. Completely agree with ThisOldDog.
Also, I like Tvique but this 'the decision does not come lightly it fucking sucks personally' is pure bullshit honestly.

True. But I don’t think GO was winning that anyways, 123 upped their game on Numbani 3rd. It was a cruise from there on out.

posted about 7 years ago

GO messed up that nanonoon play. I think Poko meant to shield BenBest to prevent the flashbang, and in turn BenBest was to shield Hqrdest but he went the wrong way. That was a very agressive play, I like it but seeing how they didn’t finish the map, they could’ve played more passively imo. Moreso when BenBest had shatter in like 5% iirc.

Ok Finnsi’s Mccree is pretty spicy.

GO flexing like champs. That quad tank village was so good against a predictable 123. Shrine was just Leaf showing off, absolutely smoked.

Yeah it's a huge feelsbad, but hard to imagine them still performing with the news that hit em just earlier this week. Unlucky.

Only upside to it is if TS wins this, GO gets their playoff ticket.

I said the same thing about Taimou and Effect, they're too good at their roles to potentially give up a starter position (given that Taimou would pick up on projectile heroes that nV was desperately lacking). Which was my reasoning behind not thinking this move would happen.

It makes perfect sense though, Timo for Hog, Mickie for Dva, Seagull for Zarya + projectiles, and Taimou-Effect can improve on the heroes they already play. Fits like a glove doesn't it ? But somehow the fact that he wouldn't be an automatic starter blinded judgement (mine included) even though we're aware that he hasn't competed in a long ass time.

I just hope we can have Timogull for a long time, PMA matchmade in heaven.
