It's been a while since once of these, so lay it on us.
With regards to the site or our coverage in general:
- what are we doing well?
- what could we do better?
- anything new you'd like to see?
Your feedback means the world to us--thanks in advance.
To be honest I've rarely frequented such a competent portal for esports.
Some might be more flashy, or more popular (not for OW), but the amount of content you create, its quality and the environment you managed to create (together with the community) is simply amazing.
Some months ago I would have asked for more coverage on Tier 3 scenes (there was always poi and others but still..), but recently that increased already, so yeh no idea of what could be improved.
Or better, everything can always be improved, but you are doing an amzing job already as it is.
Well- constant updates, stats, match results, quick news
Better- more event info, would love to see more team analysis (like for the world cup or OWL), editorials about certain teams or more player interviews
New- probably not possible, but some sort of highlight area where you could embed clips from OWL and have like a weekly highlight reel, idk
We actually have improvised watch parties on Discord, in #tournament-talk. Whenever a match happens, don't hesitate to start the discussion here, people will follow. It's the same with voice chat, offer to go in VC while watching a game and often people will follow the initiative.
As for coaching pages, I agree 100%, we should have that. Also have them listed in the team pages. #GiveChefHeidiAPage
New — Can you add an OWL player transactions page/section up top? Similar to how ESPN has a transactions page for the NBA to quickly see who has been traded, released, etc.
For the Inbox Replies feature could you add a filter that allows you to block out all replies to a thread that you've created?
For example my replies list has been swamped by every reply to the whoru thread and I don't really want those posts there, I just want to see direct replies to comments that I have made.
I'm a sucker for all sorts of match analysis, deep diving into specific plays and strategies. I'm not sure how that would integrate to the site, but it's the kind of thing I would even pay for if it involved pro players/coaches/analysts that like sharing with the community.
Loosely related to above, I would love to see videos of game/player highlights (uuuuge plays) and strategies, with a bit of story.
The design of event pages bothers me. Maybe this isn't how other people use the site but most of the time when I go to an event page (usually OWL), it's to see the upcoming week's matches. So if I go to the OWL event page I'm trying to see all matches for this week. Best case scenario I have to scroll past a list of all the teams (which I already know), then the standings of all the teams (which includes a list of the teams), then an empty bracket for the playoffs, and then I get to the list of matches. I'd propose putting the current week's matches at the top of the event page.
