Imo the league format really sucked the fun out of reporting on T2 Overwatch. As someone who wrote articles as a hobby during work/study breaks I couldn't really justify investing time in something I wasn't really interested in.

If true, it's a really good thing for the scene. Teams couldn't justify spending relatively enormous amounts of money for little return. Only problem is trying to fairly balance the ping disadvantage. Retaining LAN playoffs is also cool.

Community rep isn't involved in building the roster as far as I'm aware, that's the job of the coach and the GM. Community rep basically produces content for the team, I'd love to have vlogs going up on social media to give a kind of behind the scenes look at the World Cup.
