If yall aint got ur dicks out for this one ur not a true ow fan
Winter Wonderland 2017
Seoul super fan here. I believe in mah boyz, NYXL was just a set back and we'll come back even stronger, ready to face Houston and the Jakerat!
jokes aside I think this will either be a 3-1 or 3-2 for Seoul but to be very honest I wouldnt be shocked to see Houston being able to pull through. I'm not quite convinced that they'll be able to out strategize Seoul but I'm expecting an insane game of mind games.
Let's see if Fleta and Jehong were right. Houston has a massive advantage in the sense that Coolmatt and Muma are arguably the best tank duo in the world while Seoul's tanks look very inconsistent. Probably due to how many players they're trying to get to play tank. Zunba works better with Miro, but Kuki is a better tank overall.
I'd say SEO 3-2 HOU

Fleta and Jehong were right about what? They said CM69 and Muma were the best tanks or ...?
Huckleberry [#26]Is Linkzr completely out of this match? Is it possible that they'll bring him on one of the follwing maps?
Don't think so, and they might need a 2nd dps with positive k/d ratio, can't always hope to win without it.
LordOfHorns [#28]I call bullshit
There is no way that a slightly upgraded FNRGFE can beat an upgraded Lunatic-hai
I’m sorry, none of these players are near the same talent as their opposition
If this is actually genuine and Seoul are just playing horribly then they need to make changes. FAST
I don't know... watching Miro going completely afk and killed by Jake without even trying to moving, and then gettin immediately ressed instead of reset...
Meanwhile winning the 1st map with Clockwork with a negative K/D

I wouldn't call TaiRong a slight upgrade tho.

Downfragged for pointing out what happened on Eichenwald? Is not like it's an opinion, it was on screen. :)
Does that mean they were throwing, I certanly hope not, for sure Seoul was playing horribly.
EDIT: just so to show it :P

I'm just going to say, the casters nutting over Fleta for killing CW with a bodyshot but saying nothing about the headshot clock landed on Tobi a second earlier triggered me. They're trying to push this narrative that if only clock didn't play Houston would win, and it's stupid. Seoul has better players at every single position, even if Linkzr plays.

I think it is worth to nutt Fleta after this ones https://clips.twitch.tv/HeadstrongCuteBobaPrimeMe

Seoul haven't been playing their best the last few games so would be interesting to see how Linkzer would do vs Fleta in the Widow duels

That play was nice, but the one I mentioned wasn't.
Wombat [#38]I cannot wait for Stage 2 so we can see some proper Overwatch
Junkrat is an awful awful hero to watch, completely ruins the game
The meta in stage 2 could be quad tank, Can't say i'm going to enjoy that any more.
Drex [#40]The meta in stage 2 could be quad tank, Can't say i'm going to enjoy that any more.
Still requires more skill than a spamrat
Hudsen [#44]What a series
Can't help but wonder if the outcome would've been different if Linkzr wasn't sick
Prob not. Why? Becuase Clockwork's widow/tracer/76 were on point, and the real difference was just the skill of pharah in this case.

it would have been absolutely. one player like linkzr makes a huge difference. I am not a houston fan but even i can see that they would have won with linkzr in the team.

Right, but if Linkzr was playing, they would've had Jake to pharah instead of Clockwork, and judging by his sub-par performance on pharah that could've tipped the scales in the favor of Houston
Damn, that was a really great match, super messy and fun.
I think Houston made some silly mistakes but I really admire how much they buy into their game plans. They're such a great contrast to a team like Dallas who can't really figure out what they're doing/find their confidence. Houston just picks something, goes at it full force, and if it doesn't work it blows up tremendously (see control center, Jake feeding Zunba to 1,000,000 charge) or it's super dominant.
I think Clock actually played pretty well, but if Linkzr was in and they had a better answer to Fleta's widow/pharah that it really could have been anybody's game.
CoolMatt made some really smart plays tonight and cemented his status as one of the best off-tanks in OWL. The heads-up play to boop the D.VA out of the window on Night Market was such a great example of how focused and strategic that guy is.
And man, Jehong looked great tonight. I think Fleta is fantastic but really, he gets carried a bit by his supports/tanks. I'm really interested to see Seoul play against a mid-tier team with top-tier mechanical DPS like Philly or LA Valiant. Would love to see how Fleta's play holds up against somebody like Carpe.
Still, what a great match! Always so happy to see a map 5 :)
Hudsen [#47]Right, but if Linkzr was playing, they would've had Jake to pharah instead of Clockwork, and judging by his sub-par performance on pharah that could've tipped the scales in the favor of Houston
Is that true though, because clockwork doesnt even play pharah, why not plug him into Linkzr's slot where they play almost the same heroes

I mean, Jake was so shook at the idea of 1v1ing Fleta on Pharah that he made Clockwork do it, dunno if that was the answer there.
(Realistically, though the map that Linkzr could have put them over the top on was Horizon. They had a decent chance of winning it even without him but Clockwork's not really the Widow player Linkzr is and they just looked lost after a certain point when nothing they threw at Seoul was working)

Alas! Reason on this thread! Hallelujah!
Man, what if instead of clockwork and Mendo as their backup DPS, they had a player that used to play with this team called Buds... You know the guy who plays all the heroes Linkzr plays at nearly the same level and his Widow is arguably better. Man, what a thought lol.
Instead they have benchedokusaii and clockwork the soldier 1 trick.

Buds on the same level as Linkzr?
Ok.
foxes [#54]Buds on the same level as Linkzr?
Ok.
I mean he's clearly better than both mendo and Clockwork. It's not even a question and Buds is extremely comparable on Widowmaker. He was better than Linkzr in the beta widow meta, obviously that was awhile ago but it's not like she's that much different now.
Linkzr's Tracer and Genji are clearly better than Buds but Buds definitely plays both at OWL level, at least as a backup. Their Mcree's are probably comparable but Linkzr might be a little more explosive or command more respect.
Buds is probably a better Soldier and Pharah.
So yeah, I'd say they are comparable. Buds is very underrated and when he eventually goes OWL, people will see.
Compare all of these heroes to Mendo and Clockwork and Buds is better across the board.

I think Buds is great but I think comparing beta window Window to how Widow is played now is a wild comparison.
The difference in mobility, and how on top of positioning and looking for weird angles that top Widow play requires now is something outside of good Widow mechanics altogether.
I do definitely agree that he is underrated though, hope he makes it to OWL soon.
What a strange game this was. If Linkrz was playing, it would've definetly been a win for Houston, I feel like. I also have no idea why their initial Tracer player would play Pharah and their projectile player would play Tracer. Any idea why the swapped around?
Other than that, Seoul is a complete mess, they should've been the best team with the upgraded Lunatic Hai roster but they look like they have the teamplay of a low tier team that's getting kept up by their mechanical skill.
Also, what the fuck was that blue dot on Jake's face and red dot on Clockwork's face?
accountseverywhere [#33]My zen skills of blocking out the announcers so I can pay attention to the game are rising.
Lol you all probably think the announcers are so great. Super glad they went with the extra retarded commentary just like regular sports. Absolutely zero value to anything they say.
