From the article seems that C9 bought thefirst sspot in London and the Kroenkes groups(Denve nuggets Arsenal FC)
Bought the second spot in LA.
That means(if true) that we can have 2 spor for some city and London and LA are both of this type.
Clickbait [#4]over.gg told me that c9 is dead, fake news!!
Yea this is pretty hilarious, just shows how people jump to conclusions. Based on Kaiser leaving everyone went nuts about c9 shutting down and 3 days later they own an OWL spot haha.
With this https://twitter.com/Cloud9/status/895541433448321024 its onfirmed, honestly didnt expect c9 in london
nice to see some confirmed information with all the latest rumors (nv is still unconfirmed)
darkcvc [#10]So excited for this! Was hoping for eUnited in london, but good news that c9 is not dead and stoked to see what the team ends up being. In Bishop we trust.
2 spot in London (according to the article) as in LA so eunited can buy the second spot in London
poi98 [#12]2 spot in London (according to the article) as in LA so eunited can buy the second spot in London
I don't think the article says there are 2 London spots?
"Cloud9 has agreed to buy the league’s first London franchise"
I mean you could read in to that that there are multiple London franchises , but the same could be said of any of the cities?

Yeah for now it's definitely a 2nd team in LA and one team in London:

The Overwatch League official announcement is easier to understand. And while I think a 2nd team in London could be possible it hasn't been mentioned so as far as I'm concerned it doesn't exist.

Mmmm i think they have 2 spot only for big city but i have no proof.... probably they dont want to have small fanbase.
So 2 spot only in big cities...anyway this is the thought of who want money so probably the owner prefer it in this way.
Sayabi [#21]Finally, a team in Europe! With the entire Rogue roster under the french colors for the World Cup, I wouldn't be surprised if they bought a spot in Paris. They are well known to the french scene now thanks to that tournament, so it would be dumb not to do it imo.
I still think with the owner and partners (Aoki) they are heavily invested in Vegas and are probably more likely to pursue a spot there. Vegas is a good e-sports town and add into it the gambling aspect that is sure to come with OWL and its a good fit for any business.

I doubt Rogue has the money to buy a spot. Aoki is their biggest backer. I'm expecting the team to be sold to a French enterprise or such.
I don't think eUnited have anywhere near the resources needed to buy a OWL spot this season. I actually thought FNATIC might have come back into the OW scene and buy a spot in London seeing as they are a British organisation. Still, I'm glad to see there's at least one confirmed spot for Europe. Also pleased to see Blizzard are trying to sell 28 spots for the league, would make it very competitive.
Pixelfish [#24]But why London? You would think eUnited would be there instead. I could see C9 maybe making some roster changes in order to feel a little more European? But doesn't matter as much for the first season.
Happy that C9 is still alive!
Personally being from the UK myself I find the UK e-sports scene to be pretty shit adding to the fact e-united is NA based I believe it makes no sense in my mind for them to invest in the UK spot when they would gain very little from it, makes sense for them to grab an American slot even if the entire roster was British.
Be interesting to see how popular OWL is in London considering even the biggest games in e-sports are barely that popular but time will tell.

I think eUnited plan on moving the team to NA after contenders anyway. The whole London thing is because they've got 3 British based players currently on the roster.

Aye and it makes sense form that point of view but as I said UK e-sports is imo a bad place for a massive team to invest so much money, I mean them paying what 20M for a UK spot is really bad for business imo at least even if the entire roster was British I still can't see it being viable.

It's because it's London, which is one of the biggest attractions around. Even if eSport's isn't big in the UK, they'll still get fans.

Turns out FNATIC did want London after all.

If they're looking for 28 teams, I imagine they'll be a second, unless he's been told otherwise.
