Over.gg is season 5 confirmed.
How is it stupid to say a player who's never competed in the best region in the world or against the best players in the world isn't a top 10 DPS player? I could name 10 Korean DPS players who I'd consider better than him, never mind western players. Top 10 in the West? Absolutely. A long way from being top 10 in the world though. My point was that I thought it was extreme to be spending that much money on one player. With OWL being brand new, I'd expect that kind of money to be gained only by the very best players in the game. If NRG has a war chest to spend on players though, then maybe it's not a problem after all.
I've got 4 downfrags for saying sinatraa isn't a top 10 world DPS player (which he isn't), so I agree with you on that part. However, I think the point that I've made in the past and people have made here is that yes he is a popular streamer, but he's also a good player. You don't receive the praise that he's had from some of the best players in OW by just being a typical streamer. He was always the carry on NRG even during there awful period at the back end of last year. If you're basing him off other players he's played with, he out shined the likes of Gods and Clockwork who've both kept themselves relevant in the NA pro scene. If they're good enough to do it, then why isn't he?
Yes he's not been in the pro scene for half a year, but you don't lose the ability you once had just because you only play ranked, otherwise how would new pros enter the competitive overwatch scene? There are undoubtedly better players out there in the OW scene, but there aren't many who are on a completely different level to him. If you're looking at it from a business perspective, you're going to select the most popular player out of a list of similarly skilled OW pro players. That's why he'll be in the league.
The only way Rogue wins this is if they stop relying on Soon to do all the work. Unkoe and AKM are supposed to be the world class stars in this team, and neither of them have performed at all throughout the first 3 weeks of contenders. Nico, Winz and Knoxx all have their limits, but the other 3 are what makes Rogue the difference between how they were before the World Cup and how they are now. If they can sort their shit out then Rogue can win this one comfortably.
I don't think they will though and still see Faze being clear favourites for this one. 3-1 Faze.
He's a lot better than the self proclaimed "tier 1" players who are advertising themselves on twitter, and if they think they've got a shot then he'll have no problem. Teams will probably just pick him up for his marketing value, as with a 12 man roster they know that he won't need to be on the starting roster, but he'd be a more than useful player if he's required.
Carpe is pretty much an aimbot in himself tbf, so it'd even it up I suppose. Gotta give RNG a chance somehow.
Seagull must be licking his lips right now then. If sinatraa can get paid that much then imagine how much the most valuable asset in OW is going to be making.
That last map to a casual spectator would have them believe Immortals is one of the worst teams in the NA scene. That self destruct by Envy was the most frustrating thing I've seen for a while.
Personally just can't wait to see the Taimou BM to Winz after this match.
And that's also why Rogue might not make the top 4. This game is just bizarre.
That right there is why Immortals won't make the top 4. Leaving the cart in overtime like that is inexcusable.
Just seems a bit mad to me. 150k for at least 1 year for a player who isn't a top 10 world DPS player in a league which nobody really knows if it's going to be a success or not. Have to see how it plays out I suppose.
He was clearly memeing, saving the strats for the big day Kappa.
If he's costing 150k a year then what on earth are the likes of Lunatic Hai, LW Blue and Envyus going to be costing.
His original post was what I said, why do you keep getting instantly down fragged, he just edited it.
Read #62 lol.
He's the best in the world and proves it every time he plays it. There's not another widow in the game who can play it in difficult circumstances like he can.
My joke #15 less frags. FeelsBadMan.
Who keeps down fragging you?
I'd probably feel bad if it wasn't Kungarna. There's only so much toxicity one person can take.
This could have just given Kungarna fourth place. Shocking from Rogue to be honest. Only Soon comes out with some credit.
23 points on volskaya? FNRGFE number one team in the world confirmed.
Edit - It's now fixed
Sounds silly because of how they've performed in the past but I think it might be time for an eUnited roster change. The triple dps dive meta is over and they really need a proper flex player. If the team is looking for a spot in OWL (which to be honest I doubt they are), I reckon they'll change it up by the end of contenders. Perhaps they'll look at doing a Rogue and take on board the UK team. Can't see this roster staying as it is with the new meta if they can't perform under anything other than dive.
IMT 2-2 Faze
Renegades 1-3 Envision
FNRGFE 1-3 Rogue
Kungarna 0-4 Envy
IMT 1-3 Rogue
Renegades 0-4 Faze
Anything other than a 4-0 to Envy will be a big surprise. Kungarna aren't at Faze's level never mind Envy's and Envy really should have 4-0'd them as well.
Big Chris gonna give the Swedes a taste of what's to come at Blizzcon.
That's a nutty roster. It's a shame they're currently 0-8 down in maps.
I'd probably agree, but I wanted to try and put at least one DPS player from each team in, otherwise I'd have probably included Nevix instead of Finnsi and Kragie.
I'd probably have Libero at 4, Sabe at 5, WhoRU at 6 and Arhan at 7. Everything else I completely agree with though.
I'm not disagreeing, I'm just saying that Ryu is more important, and therefore in my opinion is more of a valuable player.
I think the best way to judge it is to match their individual skill with how much of an impact they have on their team. So using your example, Ryu and Chips have a similar skill level with Ana (Ryu is probably better though), but Ryu is much more important to Lunatic Hai performing well than Chips is to Envy performaing well.

With the way eUnited have played and how uncoordinated they've looked, this should probably be a win for 123, who've looked very good so far. Unless there's been drastic improvement from them in the past week, I'm going 3-1 123, which would probably stop eUnited from making the top 4.
NRG ChrisTFer confirmed lads.
Probably mykL on multiple accounts.
Sounds stupid as you want the best teams to go into the latter stages of tournaments like these, but I hope RunAway beat LH and knock them out. I'd like to see a different winner this year, and a bit of redemption from RunAway. Going for a close 3-2 to RunAway.
I can understand the point of perhaps over hyping the Chinese team, as nobody is really sure just how good they are, but you can't do the same with Korea. The meta doesn't matter to them, they're just so much better than everyone else at adapting to different situations as everyone on that team has ginormous hero pools that they can all play incredibly well. It'll take something special for a team to beat them, which perhaps the Chinese will have with the uncertainty around them.
This match will pretty much decide whether or not Immortals make the top four.
The Queen will be supporting us for this one I'm afraid.
Providing the meta doesn't drastically change before Blizzcon, my prediction for potential winners before the draw would have been:
1) South Korea, 2) China, 3) France, 4) UK, 5) USA, 6) Sweden, 7) Canada and 8) Australia.
After the draw I'd have:
1) South Korea, 2) UK, 3) China, 4) Sweden, 5) Canada, 6) France, 7) Australia and 8) USA.
That potential semi between South Korea and China is mouthwatering though. Blizzcon can't come soon enough.
Jaru MVP.
This has been without a doubt the most entertaining day of Overwatch I've seen for a long time. Immortals (with the exception of Agilities) are feeding their brains out. What on earth were Kariv and Fate doing on that last push?
EnVision now really good or have Immortals and Rogue stagnated since the OWWC? Either way, this along with Misfits and Gamers Origin on the EU side is great for the Western competitive scene.
Nanoboosted Numlocked PogChamp.
Wonder which Envy member mykL is going to shit talk on twitter for this one.
Get 25,000 viewers, break the stream and then lose half of that viewership. Outstanding.
