Potentially best in the West imo.
If only Fragi's Winston was as good as his Rein. He'd be the best tank in the world.
What I can take from this series is that C9 are better than they were last week, eUnited are a long way off where they were in season 0 and the camera work really needs to be improved.
Kruise feeding his brains out.
How did Vallutaja mess that up???
eUnited looking very, very average at the moment. Nothing shown so far to suggest they've improved from last week.
eUnited 3-1 C9
Misfits 4-0 Gig
IMT 3-1 eV
nV 4-0 Faze
These performances are pretty worrying for Rogue. Yes they got the win, but they've struggled against arguably the two weakest sides in the NA bracket. If their performances don't improve then I don't think they'll be making the top 4. Soon for the second weekend running having to be the one getting things done for Rogue.
He's really underrated imo. His hero pool is huge.
I think having Knoxxx back on Lucio and Kolsti as main tank will be more beneficial for Rogue than Winz on Lucio and Knoxxx as main tank. I imagine they'll have pulled their fingers out their arse after last week and come back with a dominating performance. I'd be very surprised to see anything other than a 3-1/4-0 to Rogue.
I'd say there's a big difference between telling a Winston who to jump on rather than say telling your Rein to keep his shield up to protect your widow whilst she's grounded, telling him when to charge the other Rein when your Zar has bubble up or telling your Genji to save his ult to combo with grav. There's so many different strategies involved outside of dive which would be difficult to create with only a basic understanding of English. Dive shot calling is simply repeating "Lucio lucio lucio, zen zen zen, genji genji genji". The comms speed is much faster but also requires less communication. Anything outside of this normally requires more patience and therefore longer comms.
Call outs work for dive, as all you have to do is call the target you're jumping on and that's it. When the likes of Rein, Zar etc come back into the meta and you actually have to create tactics and strategies, that's when the communication becomes difficult. I can see why people don't think it's a problem because of how easily NA/EU teams can gel, but it's different as most Asians aren't anywhere near as fluent as most Europeans.
Yeah I know what you're on about. I'm British so I'd rather having some Europeans playing in the London spot rather than a team full of Koreans. But at the end of the day the organisation is gonna do what they feels best, which imo for LW Blue would be to use the full roster.
I get your point with the mixed roster, because organisations can sign 6-12 players, but my point's about the starting roster. You want your starting roster to be the best players, and with signing LW Blue, a top 5 world team, you'd want most of your starting roster to be their 5 Koreans. Because of that, the same situation that I was on about with having another Korean rather than a NA player is what I think is more beneficial.
I think the point is that if Flow3r isn't eligible and they decide to keep the remaining 5 members in the starting roster, it leaves one player short. If they decide to use a NA player as the sixth, language is bound to be a problem. The 5 Koreans aren't going to want to learn English just to compensate for one player, whilst the NA player isn't going to want to learn Korean either as they're still playing in the US. It's a lot easier if your roster is split proportionality with 3 native speakers and 3 non natives, but when it's 5-1 it's different.
To add to the European point, most people in Europe learn English from an early age, and it's vastly spoken by most teens/young adults in Europe nowadays, which is why mixed nationalities with EU/NA teams normally works well. As far as I'm aware, you don't learn much English, if any, in most east Asian countries, which is why the language barrier becomes much harder. I think if they're wanting to use the remaining members of LW Blue, they'd be better off bringing in another Korean.
Yeah I didn't realise he wasn't eligible. Nevertheless you still don't throw an American into a full Korean team, the language barrier will never be solved.
Numlocked is in for Chris on the official contenders roster for EnVision. Why on earth would you replace arguably your stand out performer after you've just beaten Rogue 3-1? Only thing I can think of is Chris has found another team to play for. Happy for Seb nevertheless.
Yes, lets replace the best projectile player in the world so we can have an American on the team.
Edit - Didn't realise he wasn't eligible
Feel bad for Kyb. His strength is clearly in his Genji and if you're bringing sinatraa in for the Tracer role then I'd of expected them to leave him in for his Genji. Interesting to see how this plays out with the ping disadvantage that Sinatraa, space and possibly fischer (not sure if he's returned from LA) have.
I feel so bad for Libero. Such a talented player but stuck in a team that just can't perform at the moment. Hopefully they get their shit together, otherwise he should be looking to a different team to show just how good he is.
Listening to Harbleu's stream, it seems pretty clear that he wasn't a fan of the new players that are on this new NRG roster. Whether thats because of their playing styles or personalities I suppose we'll have to wait until the roster is revealed.
Basing mine off of the current meta only and people who are technically free agents.
Mixed:
DPS Hitscan - Surefour
DPS Projectile - Shadder/Seagull (Shadder's Genji is better as well as his hitscan but Seagull's overall projectile is far superior)
Tank - MESR
Flex - Smex (Just needs to improve on his Zarya, everything else is bloody good)
Flex Support - Dante/Hidan
Support - dhaK/neptuNo
He's struggling a lot with the casting side. Think he's much better on the desk.
Logix ruining the 100% Nordic dream.
Hang on. Were Rogue playing from France? If so then that changes the complexion of the result completely.
Edit - Never mind, think they're all in NA.
I think Rogue have just become incredibly complacent. Throughout the entirety of the OWWC from twitter it looked as if they were just spending their time having fun partying in Vegas rather than preparing for Contenders. Hopefully this will be a wake up call for them, as their confidence was turning into arrogance by the end of TakeTV.
That rage quit lmao. In all seriousness that was some performance by eV. Fahzix won them that last map though. The heals on Tseini on the second point and then the sleep on Nico were just incredible. Rogue on the other hand looked very average. Soon was carrying them for the majority of that game.
Chris giving the French some British sausage.
I think they'll roll pretty much everyone this season. The only team I can see taking a map off them is Rogue, and I still think they'll comfortably beat them.
The experience they've had in Korea really should lead to them stomping almost every team. The Korean environment is just so much better than anywhere else.
I think they're hilarious.
Effect looks very, very good on Doomfist.
My days I love these casters.
I love twitch chat sometimes.
sharyk and Morte are having horror shows whilst Gigantti have been focusing Boombox so well. On the other hand, Linkzr and Davin are playing out of their minds.
eUnited looking like a team who haven't scrimmed properly for 2 months.
Anyone with a decent knowledge of competitive Overwatch knows he's one of the best DPS players in the world.
I wonder if remiska still thinks TviQ is overrated. Logix just allowed him the freedom to do whatever he wanted with his constant pressure on the back line. They look like a bloody terrifying duo.
Apparently the new Misfits roster have been incredibly good in scrims, so this might not be an easy game to predict. Originally I'd have gone 3-1 C9, but if what's being said is true then this could also be a dominating 4-0 to Misfits. Gonna sit on the fence and say 2-2 however.
Scrap that, just nerf the hero period.
For the love of god Blizzard, nerf Doomfist's right click.
Should this work, TviQ and Logix will easily overthrow Agilities and Grim as the best dps duo in the West. Swapping Reinforce for cWoosH seems a bizarre one, although if things go well then this roster could easily become one of the best in the world.
I think the point is he was born in Egypt and as far as I'm aware doesn't have British citizenship. Not that it really matters anyway, it's a bloody flag.
For real though, as good as I thought they were going into it, they massively exceeded my expectations. They've not been challenged once by any team on any map in any game that they've played. I'd have them as one of the favourites at Blizzcon.
Lads on tour just got an extension.
Germany caused the USA more problems than they did the UK, but ultimately they were much stronger. Gives me a lot of hope for the boys against Taiwan though.
You have to win that last fight though. 4v6 on 99% has to be a win.
My days Germany are throwing.
