I have been trying to keep track of the best teams in each region, but it's getting so complicated now that so many changes in roasters are happening. So I thought it probably makes more sense to keep track of good players until roasters somewhat stabilize. But right now, I am not super familiar with the players outside South Korea region. Who are the players to keep an eye on?
Please pick top 5 in each role (top 10 for DPS since there are usually two DPS in standard comp) for the region you are familiar with. I will start with mine!

Well, he played both Sub-tank and Tank, but I was never really impressed with his D.Va. His Winston seemed to be quite better actually. Currently, he is contacting Western teams for trial.

i personaly dont think you can quantifi it, different players have different playstyles and fit in different teams (for example in my opinion 2 best ana players chips and ryu have completly different playstyles but i personaly prefare chips)

Yeah, I agree. Also, some players look great not necessarily because of their individual skiils, but because of synergy with the team. But the reason I wanted to start this discussion is because as many roaster changes were being posted for the Western teams, I couldn't really follow what would be considered as impactful change to the roaster and what not. I thought sharing thoughts on notable players might help people follow the potential impact of roaster changes a little better? Like I didn't really know Jaru until he joined EnVision and totally upgraded the team. Also, I didn't know ChrisTFer was such a beast.

i cant follow it either :P i have no idea whats going on in the overwatch right now coz of so many upsets

why envision is playing so well is still a surprise for everyone i think

and thats the thing in sports (and esports) puting "best" 6 players in team most likely wont make them the best team in the world synergy is much more important, and because of this we many changes will have completly unexpected results for better or for worse and thats why picking best players is not realy good
instead we should focus on teams that have proven themselves and have potential to be top teams for example misfits was alweys considered to be potentialy best western team even tho they played terribly and now after few more roster changes they are best in eu

I think often times people more familiar with Western rosters and players don't understand the impact of roster changes until they happen. Jaru flew under the radar for a lot of people, even those in the west, because he played for middling Toronto Esports roster that didn't get much screentime, and he likely would not have ended up on very many lists, if any, of top 10 North American DPS players before joining EnVision. Other players perform much better on some teams than they do others, and it can be difficult to tell if it has to do with team chemistry, their skill improving or degrading, or if is because they are on a roll or stuck in a rut. I personally believe Clockwork has played much better at a much more consistent rate on FNRGFE than he ever did on Splyce, NRG, or Gale Force.

All that being said, I don't think a little discussion and debate on which players are the best in the west hurts anyone, and may give you an idea of who to keep an eye on. I'd just take it all with a grain of salt.

I think the best way to judge it is to match their individual skill with how much of an impact they have on their team. So using your example, Ryu and Chips have a similar skill level with Ana (Ryu is probably better though), but Ryu is much more important to Lunatic Hai performing well than Chips is to Envy performaing well.

actualy no, chips is a very supportive ana people usualy dont notice how much he does coz what he does is, heal and dont die and thats VERY important for envy but hard to notice
because of how well he keeps team alive they can play solo heal (like last week in contenders i think)

I'm not disagreeing, I'm just saying that Ryu is more important, and therefore in my opinion is more of a valuable player.

Both are extremely skilled Flex supports, but personally I'm more partial to Jehong. My reason for it is that because of their different play styles, I feel like Jehong has more impact on his team and they rely on him more so than Envy does Chips because the LH DPS' due isn't as potent as the ones one Envy.

His big plays are often a big part of why LH is able to clutch out games they could have lost and when they lose him the whole backline crumbles very fast without players like Taimou and EFFECT being there to do equivalent damage to the enemy.

So I consider him the best support flex in the world not just because he's insanely skilled, both are imo, but because I think he has even more apparent impact on his team's success.

That's honestly just wrong. MESR literally hard carried Liquid once he learned Winston before they had Shadder/Fury and back in the Reinhardt days, he was insane. Best earth shatters. He literally just gets better and better.

EDIT: to be fair, part of his success might have been Rapha's shot calling.

I personally think that there's no point in arguing about who is better than who in a game where the top teams are teams that are well coordinated. EnVision proved that shotcalling and coordination is more effective than having better players.
