There's lots of EU players better than both xQc and Danteh who aren't signed, but as you rightly mentioned earlier, their popularity on stream makes people notice. Unless OWL rosters have someone properly qualified to be selecting talent, they'll be selecting players from NA with large followings, as that's the best known region in OW. xQc and Danteh (to a lesser extent) are renowned for being toxic and the way they act has built them their audience. They're definitely good players, but there's countless better options within EU who are unsigned. The problem is that most EU players don't have the audience that those in NA do, and so they can become very unknown if they don't compete for a lengthy period of time. It's a big problem for OWL season 1, and I really hope that for season 2 there's much greater integration of EU teams and EU players, as the region itself is second only to Korea.

I've gone with a DPS, Flex, Tank and Flex Support

EU - Tviq, Zappis, Fragi and Greyy

NA - Taimou, Spree, Cocco and Chips.

I understand the idea of wanting NA players for teams in the first season of OWL, but not signing one of the 3 best DPS players in the west, and arguably the best hitscan player in the world, is madness. I'm more baffled by the fact that he's not been picked up by Misfits, as splitting AKM and Tviq up was the biggest mistake western Overwatch has ever made.

He's too good for them, expecting him to be part of team London.

And with that, LH's almost 10 month domination of Overwatch has finally ended. Huge probs to Busan, outstanding performances in both games.

I think he's been signed by an OWL team.

As a Genji main, I hope that team colours can be represented on any hero, rather than the ones shown on the announcements, otherwise I might have to start supporting Envy as well as Misfits.

He's a good player, but he's definitely not the best hitscan in Korea.

It's not the pick rate that concerns me, it's her usefulness. Bastion mains still exist even though the hero itself is borderline useless. As you rightly said, Mercy will still be played, but she's far less effective with the nerf. I'd have preferred to see say a 10 second cool down after you pop valkyrie for ress rather than an instantaneous one, but leaving it at a 30 second cool down just seems far too much for me.

Really good piece. It's hardly surprising that the two most successful OW teams (Envy and LH) are the ones who have made the least alterations to their rosters.

I'm really against this because, in my opinion, Mercy is going to go down the Bastion route. Not tested correctly in PTR, released live being incredibly op and then nerfed into oblivion. Blizzard needs to be trying to encourage people to be playing support heroes, as the game currently is filled with 1 trick DPS mains, and nerfing the supports just deters people more and more away from the support section. This is one of the reasons why competitive is in such a bad state. I really hope that hero 26 is going to be a very enjoyable support to play, because if it's another DPS, competitive is just going to get even worse.

Libero has finally been set free. Any OWL team will be lucky to have him.

Lack of full EU means only one outcome. Flag meta still strong though.

3-0 Misfits. Space being on decent ping will help but Tviq and Logix on LAN is terrifying.

The UK needs to stop producing tanks, more supports pls.

I think IDDQD is still a fair bit behind the other 3 in terms of toxicity. I haven't seen him tbag and then type ''You okay'' in chat after killing someone yet.

From Overwatch's sweetheart team of Numlocked, Harbleu and Seagull to Overwatch's bad boy team of Babybay, Danteh and Sinatraa.

Completely agree, on paper the team seems really unbalanced and lacking real star quality for the amount of investment NRG supposedly has.

Favourite team - Misfits
Favourite players - TviQ/Libero/Harbleu
Favourite ever match of OW - Rogue vs Misfits (Overwatch Open)
Mains - Genji, Mei and Zarya
Favourite movie - Interstellar
Favourite food - Salmon
Favourite over.gg member - Bren

I think we know why.

Harbleu does not like sinatraa lmao.

I thought they were gonna have a super toxic roster. Turns out it's only Danteh and Sinatraa. Solid line up though, really happy for Nomy and Sleepy.

Best in the West.

Every single Western pro seems to think the exact same thing.

3rd best support in the West imo, just behind Chips and Unkoe.

I still think, based on the last 6 months, I'd take Agilities over SDB. But again, it's a game of opinions.

posted about 7 years ago

Yeah, but my idea was to create the best team possible from players based in that region. Can't do much about most of the best players in NA being from EU, I think that's fairly well recognised.

posted about 7 years ago

I tried to avoid having a completely EU team for the NA side, hence the Agilities pick.

Just for a bit of fun seeing as the tournament scene is going quiet for a couple weeks, I was wondering what super teams people would make if they could have any players from any teams (or free agents) in that particular region. The players can only play for a team if they're currently based in that region (not counting OWL so the likes of LW Blue are still KR rather than NA), meaning that members of Envy, Rogue and Faze are still NA.

EU:
DPS - Tviq
DPS - Linkzr/Dafran (Yes he's a bit of a twat but he's still one of the best hitscan players in the world)
Flex - Zappis/Kryw
Tank - Fragi
Flex Support - Boombox
Support - Neptuno

NA:
DPS - Akm/Taimou (Difficult to decide for the hitscan role)
DPS - Agilities
Flex - Spree/Mickie
Tank - Cocco/Fate
Flex Support - Chips
Support - Harryhook

KR:
DPS - Birdring
DPS - Flow3r
Flex - Zunba
Tank - Fissure
Flex Support - Ryuje
Support - Tobi

That's just made it a lot harder for the UK. Having said that, hope we batter them now to give Reinforce some justice.

Chips, Taimou and particularly Mickie struggled so much on the attack there.

He'll probably play the Haksal role. Projectile when needed or sub in for Lucio if they want Harry on Soldier etc.
