Cox Enterprises have purchased a spot in the city in which they are based, Atlanta. Their team will be run by Atlanta Esports Ventures, the product of a partnership between Cox and Province, Inc. The Guangzhou spot has been acquired by Nenking Group, owners of the Chinese Basketball Association team the Guangzhou Long Lions.
The addition of these new teams has bumped the total number of franchises based in the United States up to ten, while Nenking will compete alongside the NetEase-owned Shanghai Dragons as the two Chinese representatives in the league.
