CyberPower PC, in conjunction with CEVO, announced today that they would host an upcoming Overwatch tournament titled the CyberPowerPC Overwatch Spring $5K Invitational. The tournament will feature a host of North American talent in an online format taking place on May 6th and May 7th.
The tournament features these 8 teams from North America:
The obvious storylines to follow in this case are numerous. We will see the effect of time on Cloud9's teamwork, as the team will look to incorporate XepheR and Selly more and more into their roster. Additionally, NRG Esports will compete without a determined sixth roster member for now, though they were last seen with ultimawep in Seagull and Mendokusaii's absence.
Matches are set to begin at 12:00 PM Eastern on May 6th, and the casters for the event are Andrew "ZP" Rush, Robert "hexagrams" Kirkbride, Josh "Sideshow" Wilkinson, and Brennon "Bren" Hook. Alex "dashner" Pylyshyn will man the observer's camera throughout the event.
The tournament format is a single elimination best-of-five set throughout, while the prize pool will be split in this manner:
- 1st - $2,500
- 2nd - $1,750
- 3rd - $750
Matches will be streamed from CyberPower's channel. Check out our event page for a full overview.
