I think Singularity could definitely exploit GamersOrigin and get one map but I feel GO are well polished for this patch and are able to back it up with flashy plays out of hqrdest and leaf.

eUnited vs c9 - 4-0

Last weekend must have been a wake up call for eUnited and I think they will be back on form. They have the players to play any composition they want and it could have just been some rust from a lack of scrims. c9 has new pickups as well so I can't imagine they will perform like a well oiled machine.

Misfits vs Gigantti - 3-1

I think Misfits will come out looking dominant but potentially slip up against the Reinhardt of Fragi when it gets pulled out with cwoosh's inexperience on the hero.

Everytime C9 makes adjustments to their roster we think it makes their team so much better. Can't wait to see what kind of car crash this new one is.

Junkrat short was amazing but I guess it just brings back Looney Tunes for me. I don't get this "sfm" vibe from it that people are complaining about. It doesn't really follow the other shorts of Overwatch vs Talon or whatever but it is my favourite one so far. Junkrat is daffy duck confirmed.

The map looks great aesthetically so hopefully it will be fun to play. Escort is my favourite gamemode so I'm pretty hype.

What #4 said. I can see them picking up Surefour. Plays a ton of heroes to a high level both projectile and hitscan like Tviq that they could potentially do anything. I wouldn't want to take anybody else from the old C9 so I'd bring hidan in and get rid of Mineral, Zebbo on lucio. Main tank I would look towards ChrisTFer as he plays a solid rein and winston and keep Manneten on flex.

That would be my ideal roster for a strong Misfits lineup but I'm not sure how likely getting rid of Mineral so soon would be.

I agree with this leaving the full swedish idea. I'm not convinced they'd pick up Cwoosh though simply because part of the issue with Nevix was that overlapping heroes with Tviq and you really don't need another Genji on a team with Tviq. You need somebody as versatile as Tviq that you can run any combination of heroes to give you freedom. They will have a hard time finding the right fit but they can always look across the pond or towards Korea for talent.

I think this is a serious underestimation of the value of playing together as a team over an extended time period. These world cup teams are essentially a mix thrown together a couple months in advance. Sure they can be some of the best players in their respective regions but they still need to get team cohesion and understand how everybody plays and that should take a long time.

Flash wolves has been around for quite a while and they looked fairly dominant when they've played before but this world cup they just don't stack up at all. They should have the biggest advantage of all this full teams that were signed up. Rogue has been looking shaky prior to the event, FW beat Blank, LUL Brazil. And if you are to believe the hype from the OCE scene Flash wolves are numba 1.

But this is an awful showing from them. Maybe it just wasn't their day, maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe you could consider a bunch of different reasons but at the end of the day they played and got lackluster results.

Secondly comparing team USA or team UK to top NA/EU teams shouldn't be a factor. Top EU and NA teams have mixed nationalities for the most part so you don't get to witness that at this world cup. The world cup teams shouldn't be stronger than their regions top teams otherwise they should realise they should already be in a team and have been wasting all their time scrimming and competing with current teams.

Could flash wolves compete with NA/EU Tier 1 teams? Maybe. Could they beat tier 1 teams based solely on their performance against US and UK? Not a chance in a million years.

People are trying to have this idea that every region is as good as the other but frankly it's just not true. Korea seems to be a step ahead of everybody with the number of tier 1 teams they have and then there's usually a pretty even split between EU and NA depending on patch and which one has the bright idea for changing the meta (NA with triple tanks and EU with dive). After that China and OCE are on equal footing but are on a fine line between 0 tier 1 teams and 1 tier 1 team.

Sure #21 could just be bait but on the off chance it's just not being able to articulate his thoughts properly, the OCE scene seems pretty bad all things considering.

I think most importantly we'll get to see how good UK are. Their group ended up being pretty easy in the end so this will be a good measure of skill. I believe in the UK roster to take this but drop a map.

I don't play ranked much for various reasons but I did make a team for the Overwatch University league and that was really fun so maybe try having a look at making a team for cups/amateur leagues like OWUL. Skill ranges from like 1.5k-4k and they match you in a division with people of equal skill.

I just couldn't force myself to care for contenders and it's on at a time that I'm usually starved for Overwatch to watch.The format was terrible, I couldn't watch any of the matchups I wanted to and for a large portion of the games I managed to guess a large amount of scores. When you end up streaming predictable games instead of exciting matchups or rivalries it really questions whether the organiser of what game is being streamed has followed Overwatch at all.

Edit: At the very least they should add an in-game spectator thing like Dota 2 has so I could watch the games I wanted to without having anybody cast it. Aside from just a learning perspective I could watch teams I cared about.

This is great news. I still find it odd that they're putting this 3.5k limit on it but I guess it's an easier way to trim the fat. I'm sure there are plenty of teams that can hold their own but have players below that limit but you can make some mix of 3.5k+ and that's a "quality" team.
