Mendo apparently got an offer but declined it
This just shows how much the T2 scene needs help. Funding for teams can't just continue to come out of thin air, and organizations are almost certainly going to continue to follow suit like EnVision if nothing is done to help these guys
Now I can be the one-trick doomfist in competitive deathmatch that I've always wanted to be!
Houston to get 2nd place since the Jakerat nerf won't be in Kappa
At least we'll get to see more Reinhardt play :D
The thread title made me really miss the pick/ban map system from pre-OWL tournaments, mainly because 2cp would just get auto-banned by both teams
Still a pick/ban system for heroes doesn't make much sense. Swapping to counter is an overall much better system and there's no reason to switch from it. If you can't counter something because you can't properly counter it, banning it does nothing productive for either party.
Doesn't seem like it. They're not on the org's twitter banner so I'd doubt it. My guess is their contract might've expired with HASTE and NRG didn't choose to renew it
Unless xQc gets denied entry by Blizzard I think he's probably going to be Canada's main tank this year
Good game but the most recent patches to it have made me shy away from it, mainly the changes to weapon switch speeds
Also if Epic is adding new content to the game every single week they're eventually going to run out of (good) stuff to put in the game
I enjoyed his CS:GO casting, but his OWL casting often has me wishing they'd have someone else casting. I think Bren would be fantastic but I'm biased because he was without a doubt one of my favorite casters when he was doing TF2 casting
#BringBackHexAndZPCasts
Looks like it's time for me to transfer to UCBerkley
If you want the TL:DW of this, basically xQc said that for the most part, the players were in the dark about a lot of major decisions that were made, especially with Rascal and OGE's additions to the team. There were no supposed tryouts for either of the 2 players and they were picked up with the expectation that issues were eventually going to fix themselves. He made it sound like there were people making important decisions that were not qualified at all to make those decisions. And the consequences of those decisions ended up coming down on KyKy unjustly.
He also explains the cocco situation and why he didn't get any playtime, which I won't go into for spoilers, but that combined with Custa's comments on Oversight about cocco probably not having a future with the Fuel ends up making sense
Understand that at lower ranks, more "meta" doesn't mean that you'll automatically win. The factors of execution going into things as well as how the enemy team is playing is something that you honestly should be paying attention to more. That being said, learning how the meta functions and how certain roles function is great.
Unfortunately you have to learn how to play matchmaking instead of playing Overwatch. But in the rare instances that you do end up playing actual Overwatch with people coordinating and talking strategy, those games are what really stand out.

Super out because sick, Nomy most likely in. Could this mean SHD's first win?
He tried to get into Quake Champions but has recently settled on Batalion: 1944 to my knowledge
No clue about Talespin
Remember that these are allegations. Even though there's enough evidence to likely point to this case being true, the official investigation on Blizzard's part is much more essential and will likely give more answers. I'd also imagine that they would be working with authorities if things get to that point.
Still, I was shocked when I had heard this come up. I never really thought of DreamKasper as someone who would do something like that. Like mentioned before, if he's found guilty, he'll probably never get to play professionally again.
Supposedly Snillo is starting tonight according to Slasher
And Cocco is permabenched
Also predicting 3-2 SHD if their roster isn't what it was when they played their matches vs London and New York (Mickie/Seagull/Rascal/EFFECT/Chipshajen)
There are such things as "bad trades", which if it is ultimately comes down to perspective on a subject.
The only justification that I can believe on the end of Dallas is that they want HarryHook back in to shotcall, but that doesn't make much sense, since Custa does that was shown to have the most positive impact on the in-game atmosphere overall, but there's not really anything to compare that too since we (the public) don't have access to their scrim/full match comms. Unless Dallas and their management are really doubling down and having the team build itself up with a stable roster that's going to start most games and so that they can focus on more important things, like the team they're facing and what they're likely going to run and prepare. These things are what OWL teams need to be focused on doing, not figuring out who is going to be in the next batch of contestants on musical chairs with the Fuel.
As far as the Valiant, the reports that uNKOE isn't helping the team atmosphere is a good justification, as team atmosphere is equally as important in a team as the players itself, but knowing that Custa isn't going to be filling the Zen role that was previously occupied by uNKOE confuses me. Is KariV going to remain on support ? What about Verbo? Is there still going to be a language barrier between the Koreans in the team and the non-Korean speaking players? I personally don't keep up with LAV that much but to my knowledge these questions haven't been answered that clearly, and I guess from my perception of the matter, the LAV staff don't entirely know that answer yet either. Custa will certainly bring a positive environment if he's shotcalling, but will likely come at the expense of Verbo's playtime.
I know it's nerd writings and there are almost always always more questions than answers but sometimes there is more than meets the eye with trades like these. There are more moving parts than just "one player in and another player out".
Agreed. Even though I'm a new addition as a writer I'm going to work towards the standard that Scrubasaurus is setting :D
Sometimes it honestly makes me angry that masters games comes down to which team has the better smurf/alting players. Like I completely understand why people would want to play on an alt account, but I don't understand why some people (DPS mains are the worst offenders of this) just get another copy of the game to play the same heroes that they would on their main.
Also when I was in diamond last season, I had a guy that was, although friendly and cooperative, said after a loss "well this account has fallen too low, time to buy another account". This really just rubbed me the wrong way since not everyone has tons of money to afford that, and there are many better things (imo) to spend your money on. I just can't help but think if more DPS mains made tank alt accounts (even if it's just to play zarya/hog), there would be so many less games with triple (or even quad) DPS/solo tank/solo healer
Honestly I wouldn't see this as a terrible trade for the Fuel. They're definitely a bit of a mess and I can understand why they'd consider trading EFFECT for SoOn. Personally, I'd also be a bit frustrated if I was EFFECT and regarded as one of the best tracers in the league on a team that hasn't really seen a good showing since quite a long time ago when they were under EnVyUs. I might be speculating a bit but that's the most logical conclusion I could come up with.
At least if this theoretical trade goes through, half of the old Rogue roster would be reunited once again
Nobody remembering numlocked who's become just a paycheck collector FeelsBadMan
They have Korean coaches, but no Korean players
I guess they're happy with their DPS lineup and don't want Taimou to become the Fuel's iteration of CWoosH, but I'm not sure about why they'd want to shop around with Cocco. Seems like he'd do fine moving to a coaching role if and when he decides to retire. Guess they're banking on OGE to be the solution that they're looking for at the main tank role.
Still I can't help but wonder if they've considered numlocked. He seems like a good all around tank and would be infinitely happier actually scrimming with a team instead of just playing ranked all day and picking up a paycheck.
3 threads about the same topic Not like this
In all honesty this seems more like a move that the Fuel needed to make to get themselves back on track to being a notable team and not just one that's playing without their true starting roster.
That being said, the tank line of Dallas should be more focused without the distraction of the "xQc drama" as some people might put it. Hopefully this can help the Fuel improve as the OWL season continues.
Cocco is 28 according to liquipedia, which is notably higher than a lot of players in the league
It's important to not associate the people that follow xQc with him entirely. That being said, I believe xQc just needs to stop caring about what people say on Reddit.
That being said, I find it interesting that they've recently announced OGE as an edition to the roster.
Also, wtf is with xQc's response to that announcement. I don't want to get into theorycrafting or anything but it seems really easy to assume that he's packing his bags and about to leave DF. That is unless I'm just overthinking all of this, which I hope is the case.
Either way, cheers for all of the popcorn!
The thing is it's not as easy as "sub out x player and sub in y player and instant win", team atmosphere is a big part of these teams, and from following the team when they were under the EnVyUs banner really highlighted that Mickie was an essential part of the team that kept them together.
That being said, it's tough rooting for Dallas, since everyone knows of their potential but constantly sees them fail to actually reach it.

Nomy definitely needs replacing, but I feel like SF's plan is just to wait for Super to become eligible and then just have Nomy as a sub. iddqd also seems to be in the same boat. Once sinatraa becomes eligible, I feel like he'll either become a perma sub or just traded away to another team like Florida.
