Well considering that Shock almost beat them in Stage 1, then did so in Stage 2/3, it didn't surprise me that they would face Titans again. I mean we kind get to see a fighting game in action;

Shock V. Titans Round 3. FIGHT!

Quite frankly, NYXL messed up big time, then again the seeding was skewed in their favor to be easy. IMO this really all started when in Stage 3 ATL beat them.. twice. If you lose two times in a row two ATL then to Chengdu who is worse, then again to Titans I just don't think NYXL is as amazing as they always say each time "Oh they'll get it right" mean while it's like PTSD again where they roll through Stage 1-3 but flop as soon as the Semi's come around.

That being said, Shock needs to be careful there's likely a chance that our OG Runnaway rolls like they did in Apex.

Let me preface this by saying that I'm 500% rooting for VAN to win...

But holy fuck do SFS look scary. They lost one match then absolutely shit on the rest of the teams. They took down team that VAN barely beat and just bitch slapped them right out of the playoffs.

I'll be praying that I'm dead wrong in my gut feeling and that VAN pull off what I can only call as an upset at this point. Anyhow, my pred (that I hope VAN boom):

Yeah we can end up in a scenario where it's Stage 1 all over again but perhaps if it goes all the way to 8 maps, they could clutch it all in the end but it would likely be extremely close.

Mano & Meko got pretty much outplayed in the Shock vs NYXL game and they managed to put up a good fight for 3 maps.

The game is being shown on ESPN. On Saturdays, ESPN airs college football games all day. They like being able to broadcast OWL, but not if it takes away from their most profitable content. On Sundays, nfl games are aired on Fox, CBS, and NBC instead, so ESPN has time slots available for non-football related shows.

ikr! I know and fully accept that the time will not be great or even good for everyone but they could have at least made it on the weekend. I dont care what time it is, i will be awake for it, but 8AM on a monday there is nothing I can do. It's an absolute disgrace if you ask me, because they could have just had it at the exact same time one day earlier (6pm saturday in Philadelphia) and it would have been watchable for every time zone in the world.

edit: ik this may seem harsh and selfish but cmon i have been following closely all season and i just wanna watch the grand final, IK im not alone here

Well I mean it's basically in 9 hours for me. Most viewing are in NA anyways, though; if you have ESPN/ABC, can watch it that way too.

Though if you really cba, just get a better job that has a flexible schedule. 5head. No offense, I've seen this complaint before esp. when it was last years CSGO tournament, you wanna see it but "you work", or "I'm in EU/Greenland" like they cannot schedule things for everyone across the world, that's impossible. I have a friend who is 15 hours ahead of me.

Just saying, some people will just have to miss out on it or avoid spoilers.

I willbe able to watch it, but it never stops to amaze me how some (and yes I mean some not all and not most) people in the States perceives the world.

Here we are speaking of a league that wants to be international, and will probably be form next years.

A league that's made at 70% of players who are not from NA.

Implying that the biggest number of viewers is form NA is I'd bet to say quite wrong, to be honest I believe that summing up China, Korea and Australia, which can work around lower different time zones, you'd probably get more viewers.

The answer "find a better job" then is imo simply stupid, you either don't have one (too young or too rich), or are very lucky and had your job fall on your lap to say something like that, jobs that will leave you free the whole morning usually aren't "good" jobs, but are shift jobs.. which means you work unholy hours to get that morning off.

Which is understandable; officially we haven't transitioned into International OWL yet but it just bothers me that people haven't realize that scheduling cannot be the whole of the world yet esp. not after many decades since pro-game streaming got more and more popular in the later years.

Sure they hype it up so much, it does feel contradictory all things considering where is our teams that were suppose to be for the other countries like Israel or Austria? It isn't whole international if a majority of OWL players are Korean and rest is (other).

Though this appears to be like a issue with OWL overall imo. Some teams/people simply cannot get in due to money or age.

But afaik there is a 1 hour wait before the broadcast officially begins, then another hour for watchpoint, 30mins for a music performance then it starts a 3pm.

But do you know what else I know? It is very possible for them to schedule it so that everyone in the world has it on a weekend. Every single person. Just make it one day earlier (Saturday local time), they don't even need to change the time, and that will let it be on the weekend for everyone. I don't care if it's at 3AM, but if it's on during work there is nothing I can do, and that is avoidable.

Runaway now is not OWL level, as fanboy-triggering as that sounds. People loved them for their underdog streak, and their vibrant brand/personality, but expecting them to get pick up is very unrealistic. They still have to actually win something first. At the same time, I'd honestly advise Flowervin to sell Bumper, Stitch and Haksal and then rebuild. Those buyouts money can help Runaway for a few more season
