The Washington D.C. Overwatch team has begun building their roster with the additions of janus and WizardHyeong to their ranks as main tank and head coach respectively.

The two former New York Excelsior New York Excelsior OWL Rank #18 Gangnamjin Gang Nam-jin (강남진) flex support Myunb0ng Seo Sang-min (서상민) flex support Flora Lim Young-woo (임영우) dps Yaki Kim Jun-gi (김준기) dps Kellan Kim Min-jae tank members found their way into free agency at the end of August, with the release announcements for janus and WizardHyeong happening at different times in the same day.

The team was reported as joining the second season of the Overwatch League by ESPN's Jacob Wolf early in September, and confirmed by Blizzard shortly after.

The addition of janus marks the first player addition to an expansion team. Currently, the team's coaching staff only consists of GM Kate Mitchell (announced September 7) and the aforementioned WizardHyeong.

The exclusive signing window for expansion teams began September 9, and will run until October 7. The day after, October 8, is when all Overwatch League teams can sign free agents. By December 1, all teams should have their players signed and ready to play, with a minimum of 8 players required for every team.
