I know they're mostly young adults to late teens but it only feel like I'm watching a bunch of kids bicker and troll, some being worst than others. Twitch streams, and the ability for anything to be remotely taken out of context, just seem to add fuel to this juvenile shitstorm.

It's unfortunate but these are the growing pains that the league, the players and the orgs will just need to move past if this is going to be more than just a fad.

While people like xQc and Taimou obviously have issues that I don't think can be ignored or hand waved away as "being young". I also think they're bigger cultural issues with gaming at large, so I think this problem stretches beyond them in a tremendous way (Gamer Gate, Chan, etc...).
However, I'm concerned that Blizzard isn't doing enough to help OWL players deal with the stress of competing every single week in front of thousands of people. You can see in some of the players how burnt out and stressed they are. Just check their twitter feeds every week, and they're all being crazy hard on themselves. I'm concerned with the quantity of games that the teams play are accelerating the burnout and blowup of some of these guys.
The Kephrii sexting incident that involved Taimou is a good example. I do think people are painting these boys to be more angelic than they actually are so when things like these come out it's mass shock..except for the people that actually know them.
Like you mentioned the league as a whole may or may not be doing enough to help them cope with what is now expected of them on top of the stress of the environment and burnout as you pointed out.
"Behavioral" issues aren't unique to OWL, but the league is the unique position of being an eSport that want to emulate traditional sports in these new more "PC" times where everyone is more exposed than ever thanks to social media and streaming.
Things could get worst before they get better, but hopefully they can figure it out and make the process as painless as possible.
Spot on, it's a huge issue in every sports league. I think that Blizzard has been good about being proactive about some of this stuff and getting out ahead of it before it becomes a huge problem. Just looking at the way other sports leagues handle things (specifically the NFL) and it's clear that Blizz may be doing a better job than most.
I think these issues are expected, and Blizzard probably knew to plan for things like this. I mean, if everybody else saw things like this coming, Blizzard should have too, right?

This was in '84 on a tennis court, you'll find plenty of other example over the years and (e)sports, it's the other side of the celebrity coin.

It's important to not associate the people that follow xQc with him entirely. That being said, I believe xQc just needs to stop caring about what people say on Reddit.

Look, for as much as I usually am part of the anti-xQc circlejerk, you hate to see a player with that much talent leave the scene. I hope all of this shit gets sorted out and we can all get back to playing the damn game. Ever since Sado got that 30 game suspension, I've been worried about Blizzard's stance on player discipline. Rivals like Jake and xQc may sometimes trash talk each other, just like fans of their teams will, but that's part of what makes it fun to cheer for a team.
As a side note being traded might be the best possible thing that could happen to xQc. SF Shock could use a main tank and the environment there would be better for him.
Would SF Shock really want to take in xQc after how spectacularly badly it has gone at Dallas? Obviously I don't know if this is true but from the outside it looks like Shock have built a solid tight-knit squad with a great atmosphere and team chemistry. Why on earth would you want to bring in somebody so disruptive to potentially ruin what they've got going.
Given the Shock's current record, he'd at least be worth a shot. Plus, isn't he friends with Sinatraa? They wouldn't have to commit to giving him a ton of playing time, just toss him in a few scrims and see if it works. I agree with your point about not wanting to be disruptive, though I wonder whether xQc is shaped by his environment or if his environment is shaped by him.
