This is gonna be good. Fusion looking much better post mercy meta with Eqo. HOU takes this 3-2
1-9-17: OWL Skins/DF bug fixes
1-23-17: Blizzard World + cosmetics
1-30-17: Mercy/Junkrat changes
I'd say Phillie, 'cause it's "my" team, but I guess Huston is playing great and just too good of a Cinderella story for me (except for the hideous continous gum munching; can't really stand that lol) so I fear this is an Outlaw game, close one but still theirs.
Writing it here, unless Linkzer breaks (injuries, mentally or skillwise) or they decide they want to try the full NA roster for the sake of it, I see Huston as the final winner of OWL season 1.
Well I mean in OWL you need to be the best to compete at this level. If you cant compete with the best in the world you dont belong on the team.
I am a HUGE outlaws fan and I love jake but not sure he is the long term answer for the team. He carried on jakerat and I think he is a serviceable tracer, but he is not as good as any of the other starting tracers in the league.
Fragi always reminds me of Bud Spencer <3

Anyway gg both teams, was a great match, btw also thanks for you guys at over.gg will never love that "spoiler-free" toggle enough.
What a rollercoaster of emotions that map 5 was. Poko diving into the well when Philly were on top nearly sent me into a meltdown.
Jake proved today that he's the biggest douchebag in OWL. Gets exposed on any hero that requires skill, can only play Junkrat well, unironically plays Bastion and just gormlessly sits there chewing gum with his mouth open. Best of all, he has the tenacity to say that he's one of the best DPS players in the league. I'm so glad he got t-bagged today.
He hasn't, but a lot of the other players do consider him to be the best DPS player in the league. There were some videos going around of people on both London and Seoul saying that Jake would be the player they're scared of the most.
FWIW, I do think Jake is one of the top 10, maybe top 5 DPS players in the league, but I think he has some confidence issues that tend to plague him. Look at the difference in demeanor between him and Carpe (who absolutely went off last night) both during and post match. Carpe always seems to be calm, and keeping thought in check through out the maps. It feels at times that Jake can swing and tilt wildly in both directions. You can tell he takes this very seriously, and he's always extremely hard on himself after every Houston loss.
I think when Jake is performing and is "on", he's absolutely one of the scariest DPS players in the league, and it enables the rest of Houston's really smart and creative play to shine. When he's not clicking, he definitely tilts under the pressure of not performing.
I still think Houston are a top 3 team though.
So, I'm not a fan of Jake. In general he rubs mw the wrong way and I have trouble hearing him talk for more than a few minutes at a time.
That being said I do think he is legit a top tier DPS player. What puts him there is his game brain, imo. Mechanically I only see his Junkrat being top tier, with Genji/Pharah being "OK" because he does his job at a serviceable level on those Heroes. His Tracer is a bit weak but he can and does help his team finish the job but is unlikely to carry the game from his own plays or initiation.
He's good because he works well with his team and does what needs to be done. The team looks more coordinated when he's in and overall results show that Houston as a team is a forced to be reckoned with.
As much as I want to say otherwise you have to give it to the squad, they're pretty damn good, and consistent.
