LH 3-1. Despite their recent struggles, they still are the team that has shown themselves to be the best in the world over multiple seasons. Miro and ryujehong will find a way to clutch it.

Gonna have to agree with #3 and call the LH 3-1. As I stated on the game vs X6, Lunatic-Hai has struggled game to game in the past but they never seem to genuinely fade away. I still expect good things out of them this season.

That's true. iirc Gido was voted by his teammates Finals MVP last season. I think he really brings something more then just beeing decent dps to LH. Gido should be there whatever what, paired with WhoRU/Esca.

We could possibly be seeing Gido/Fleta for OWL if he can keep up the consistency since WhoRU is too young and EscA will eventually have to leave for military duty.

This was not just Gido getting outclassed. Profitt popped off but HaGoPeun absolutely massacred Jehong on Zen. Better at building ults and using them, not getting picked first as much as Jehong did.

And with that, LH's almost 10 month domination of Overwatch has finally ended. Huge probs to Busan, outstanding performances in both games.

About time for LH to get some real DPS next to WhoRU.

Let's not jump in to some unlucky conclusions shall we.

It sucks for GC Busan but there will always be an asterisk on this season due to the OWL scramble for teams. Kind of takes away from a great season for them.

#34 EnVy had to deal with Drunkmou, and Meta were in just the right meta for them to shine.

I think coach of GC Busan deserves as much praise as the players. I think the main reason GC Busan was able to play so well against LH both games was because they knew exactly how to take advantage of LH's weakness.
We all know LH's DPS isn't the best, and that has been the problem LH suffered with. But in the match against X6, LH showed that they can somewhat overcome it by letting the DPS to play what they are best at (Whoru on Genji and Gido on Tracer). However, GC Busan was well-prepared to counter that by playing Soldier/Tracer. When LH rushed in, Hooreg placed biotic field, and GC Busan just fought on it. When Whoru changed to Junkrat, GC Busan played Pharah to counter that.

But because of this exact reason, I do not see GC Busan defeating C9-Kongdoo. Birdring/Rascal have giant hero pool and good at pretty much any DPS heroes. Because of this flexibility, it's very difficult to find any obvious weakness of them. I think this is similar reason why GC Busan had harder time with RunAway. RunAway is way more flexible team than LH.

LH needs to get top level hit scan player if they don't want to face the same difficulty again in the OWL.

#34 EnVy had to deal with Drunkmou, and Meta were in just the right meta for them to shine.

Envy were slumping way before that. When they lost their 56 (57?) win streak. And you could make the ongoing meta a case for every team that's succeeding/not succeeding.

Point being, people are too quick to draw conclusions. LH and EnVy have been at the top for multiple months and across different metas, that's what it means to be a great team. Can't expect teams, no matter how good they are, to dominate forever.

Lack of flexibility is the biggest problem for LH. Everyone can expect what kind of comps LH will use in games as their DPS players have limited hero pools. This makes them so vulnerable to counter picks. They really need flex players in the roster.

Which is exactly why I hoped LH to pick up Libero. But it seems like NY is the one who got him. I don't know what NY will do once Flow3r joins in March. They have four top DPS (SBB, Flow3r, Libero, and Pine). Libero can flex tank, but MekO is quite good, so I doubt they would use Libero for that. Pine can flex heal as well, but then again, JJonak is really good.

so it seems LH no longer #1 in world, C9KP > GC Busan > LH ?

I love how I got told that "my statement was contradictory to the facts" when I said I didn't think WhoRU was as good as he used to be. I still think it's pretty true, if you look at the game here the main problem was lack of any solid DPS from Lunatic-Hai.

3 series if you're willing to count MVP Space.

both of LH dps played well. whoru just had more room to move on the first map, and was played around really well on the second.
it's mindblowing to me that in this stage of the game, people who have been watching this game competitively since release, still try to single out individual players who were "underperforming" rather than looking at the team play and team compositions. at the highest level team play is what separates teams, not which player is slightly better at a certain hero.
