Hope he's planning on joining a team soon - always a ton of fun to watch him play. (Also maybe a stream soon @harbleu :P?)

Excited to see all the tournaments coming up right at launch. This one has some interesting scoring/hero/map rules (medal point scoring, hero limits on KOTH maps, map restrictions).

Prize pool upped to $360 now. Glad to see the growth - all of it goes to the winner still I believe.

I think pluppie is on like 2-3 teams at this point lol. Let's see if he can keep this up or will pick 1 in the near future.

He wanted to play a DPS role but there wasn't a spot for that on the team as well as some other issues he hinted at.

It looks like Mix^ has picked up TviQ at least for this week though: http://www.gosugamers.net/overwatch/teams/14586-mixup

For overwatch he primarily played Mercy (and other supports) for the team.

Apparently ruwin left mixup team - it'll be interesting to see who they'll pick up for the spot. Wonder if it'll be someone from tf2 (indust?) or someone else from the OW scene. Regardless looking forward to seeing some good games!

Edit: Also prize pool doubled apparently http://www.gosugamers.net/overwatch/news/34380-gosugamers-overwatch-weekly-prize-pool-doubles

Interesting - ESL is going with 1 hero limit. My guess is fewer of the top teams will register for that tournament.

NA (Saturday, Feb. 20th) $120 for first place & $120 for charity (picked by first place)

EU (Sunday, Feb. 21st) $500+ Prize Pool

Glad to see new org's trying to have tournaments. I hope they try different formats of map picks etc so we can experiment with that as well. Anyone know any teams competing in these?

Edit: Prob was obvious but just realized the NA one was weekly which means both Saturday and Sunday there will be a $120 NA tournament. Wonder if teams will play in 1 or both.

That game really showed some of the potential overwatch does have to be a great spectator sport- the diversity of lineups and different strategies really makes it interesting as a spectator. If blizzard can add some support for casters to know big plays in advance then the combination of showing huge plays + analyzing team comps/switches should make this a blast to watch.

Great game by Mix^ and Tviq's team. Mix^ looked really dominant except for that last push - can't wait to see upcoming matches.

Looks like Mix^ is playing! Can't wait to see how the games go and if the meta is different from EU. Best of luck to the team.

Camera work and casting overall seems a lot better in this tournament compared to the pug from Thursday. Hopefully they can keep working off of this baseline to keep improving. Made it a lot easier to understand what was happening and the casters seemed a lot more enthusiastic as well.

Yeah agreed, something interesting to see would be someone casting the same game with different styles: So once focus on plays that are happening, once on hero switches and the strategy effects, highlights etc. Also I wonder if increasing the time required to gain ultimates would help slow down the pace a little? I know in tf2 even though choke points are a bit slow and boring, they do help casters catch up and do some more strategy based analysis.

Just finished watching the matches from the first map. I think it's still pretty early to tell, but it is nice to see more hero diversity. Still really worried about how spectator friendly the game is- I approached the video with the mindset of wanting to get excited/see what was happening but it was honestly really confusing. I'm sure Blizzard will keep working on it, but hopefully through these beta tournaments, producers will be able to figure out a good method for casting matches.

So glad that you all are doing this and providing content for viewers even within the first week back. Can't wait to watch/catch the vods and I hope there will be more in the future too!

Another league announced - this one with a LAN as well during beta.

Weekly tournaments are back as well so there should be some good spectator competitive content for anyone not in the beta: https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/443b1i/gosugamers_overwatch_na_and_eu_weekly_tournaments/

Harbleu plays soldier, so he might be able to play pharah as well? Dummy having better ping will be interesting too. Let's see if they change up their main roster! Still curious about those last holds though :|

After that first round of Hubris vs NotEnigma, I'm not sure if that rush last to defend part of the game is good or not. On one hand it's extremely exciting, really fast paced and gets you as a spectator on the edge of your seat, but on the other hand it just gets repetitive. It seems like having spawn waves would definitely make it less stretched out, but again, as a spectator, it's hard to follow the other skirmishes but those last fights are really engaging. Thoughts?

Edit: Also would be curious to know how it is as a player if anyone from one of these teams could share the player perspective. It seems like a lot of team coordination must go on during those moments.

Seems like they were originally using distance the cart was pushed as a tiebreaker assuming both teams didn't fully cap.
