Hot off the back of their top-4 result in the GosuGamer's Weekly NA #12, Gale Force Esports have split with their flex player Harbleu.
It's a surprising move, as Harbleu had been one of the star performers for the team alongside the fragging TJO twins, while Gale Force had been slowly improving to be able to contest the top North American teams. In interviews at the first NA LAN, Agents Rising, the players appeared content at their 3rd place finish and were consistently performing at a high level in the weeks afterwards. Gale Force Esports have also been invited to the JoshOG Invitational, alongside 7 other top NA teams, which is taking place in just under two weeks' time.
It is not clear whether Harbleu left of his own volition or whether he was cut from the team, and Gale Force Esport's statement on twitter leaves it enigmatic:
Harbleu and Gale Force Esports are parting ways. We thank him for his dedication and wish him the best in his future endeavors."
While Harbleu himself tweeted:
no longer a part of @GFeSports, was a fun time playing with them. looking forward to competing against them in the future now :>
It seems to be an amicable split either way, but leaves questions hanging in the air. Who will replace the powerhouse flex for Gale Force? And where will Harbleu find himself playing now?
The roster for Gale Force Esports is currently:
- Jackson "Shake" Kaplan (support)
- Joe "Joemeister" G. (support)
- Joey "jkw" Wavering (tank)
- Jake "torkTJO" Lepoff (dps)
- Nicolas "nicolasTJO" Aubin (dps)
- Tiffany "TifaPls" Chiu (manager)
