Bon's Spirit Gaming have announced their acquisition of MiG's (formerly known as Afreeca Freecs) spot in Contenders Trials: Korea. BSG failed to secure a direct invite to Trials after placing 4th in APEX Challengers Season 5, finishing only three map wins away from second place.

The move has further cemented Afreeca Freecs' withdrawal from the Korean Overwatch scene after disbanding their roster in November last year. The Freec's were one of Korea's longest tenured organisations, first joining the competitive scene in August 2016. They went on to turn in largely positive results, including a second place finish in APEX Season 1. However, the team went their separate ways after a slump in the latter half of 2017 which included a 9th-12th place finish in APEX Season 4.
Bon's Spirit Gaming are now set to compete for a spot in Contenders Korea. They will face opponents in Trials such as Meta Athena, Meta Bellum, MVP Space and Seven, with the tournament kicking off on the 14th of February.
