I don't get it, but I love it.
Never have I seen as much throwing as we did during this match. Both teams deserve a hard L imo.
Hella proud of the boyz! I knew they had potential but I wasn't expecting it to start showing this fast, or in this meta!
The boiz are back and they're ready to take it all the way.
I think the only thing I'd change is put the GZC in 10th and move everyone else down a spot.
I'm also still a bit iffy on Dallas because their performances seem to really swing based on the play style of their opponents (not dissimilar to Seoul's woes).
As for Atlanta I feel like they might (?) be 1 or two spots too high but not enough to be confident about it. They got a massive and dominant win against Paris but their schedule could otherwise be considered moderate, imo.
Still interesting that we won't even have that great of am overall picture after stage 1 because of wildly different strength of schedules or other circumstances. We are, imo, looking at the best OWL stage to date, in terms of league parity.
They'll have deserved it when they make it happen, not before, imo.
But to be honest, to be the best, you gotta beat the best. They have a though schedule also dropped winnable games.
They had a chance to catch a break, a few even, they just failed to do it, imo.
Elk isn't eligible to play for the rest of the stage unless they had him sign a full contract.
Yeah that's understandable, though I still think some teams could be moved around a bit, but here's what I'm seeing after week two based on your rankings:
Alright! I'm not gonna comment on original placement of teams here, just their movement based on Week 2 matches!
SFS: They lost to Vancouver which might be the best or 2nd best team in this meta right now. I think they keep their spot in your rankings so no movement for them from me this week, (-).
ATL: They beat Toronto, an up and coming but, imo, weaker team than others at the top. At best I'd say this gives them a (+1), but not a (+3).
SEO: Seoul beat an interesting and odd team in the Hunters. I don't think they're a necessarily good enough team to warrant a (+3), like ATL I think this is a (+1) at best. However, if you tell me this is a move to adjust Seoul to a more appropriate spot in the rankings (not just based on their last win, then I can get on board with it)
LAG: The gladiators lost to what is considered the best GOATS team in the league by a narrow margin. I'd consider not moving them at all or giving them a (-1) at the most. I'm breaking my rule of commenting only on the week's games by saying that I think they should be placed higher given their performances against what I consider two other top teams.
DAL: They got swept by the GZC and beat a much weakened PHI team. I'd either not move them at all or give them a (-1) for a train wreck of a loss and a decent performance against a handicapped squad.
Based on your rankings this is probably what my week two looks like
I TICKED THE MATCH. YYYEEESSS!!!!
Yeah, but a guy can dream right?
The real questions.
Gimme Mangachu and we got a deal MTL. I promise not to shit on your city again....
Sideshow's back with another of his previous series:
"This is where I'm putting my analysis without it being limited in size. Some are tiny moments in the game that are important but weren't noticed by the casters or viewers, some is just breaking it down on a deeper level because I'm doing it via VOD. It's basically "what would be possible with an analysis desk and replays?" and running with that."

Literally what fans do.
Who kept saying it? No one has them in their top 10 for this Season, and last Season's pre-rankings mean nothing right now.
Not sure what point you're making if Dallas never was, and still isn't, a top 10 team. That much was made clear very early on, so the hype you speak of is non-existent.
Possibly, since I'd assume that most of the French speaking fans would be more interested now that they have a Contenders team in QC. Runaway does have solid fanbase but proximity might say some fans as well. TO is about a 5hrs drive for me. MTL is around 2hrs and Vancouver is way too far so I default to TO, even more so now.
Looking forward to being able to see some games and make a trip out of it.
Just basing this on my own bias along with what I agree with from analyst opinions. I'm also assuming that GOATS will be played more often than not here.
I think they could have gone with Climax/Ivy and either either Stellar or Asher but like you mentioned they seemed to put less value into Climax. Still feel like coaching could have gone a long way in helping them achieve what they wanted and I'm not convinced Asher is THE guy, but hey, I guess we'll have to see how things go.
Edit: There's always the possibility of them picking him up later on (and I hope they do) so I'm still kinda holding out hope for that.
Shrug, lots of hot takes and shock value comments. But, and this is just imo, not much in the way of tangible speculation. A few examples:
London Spitfire: They were a mediocre team throughout most of S1 that caught a lucky hot streak in the playoffs and won 6 matches after being taken to the brink of elimination by an LA Gladiators team that was missing its best player.
Not that I can back this up anymore than you can, but that lucky hot streak extended into winning the final, I'm not so sure luck had as big a part to do with it as you seem to insinuate. They did lose the first series to LA but were never brought to the brink of elimination, they never faced a series game point. Semantics, amiright?
Toronto Defiant: They're a mid-tier contenders KR team without a star or even particularly good synergy.
I don't know where they'd rank in KR contenders as they are now so you might be correct. My best guess is that the extra support they get from being an OWL team could be what makes them a better team overall, but that's not something I can evaluate. Now, "star power" wise they have Ivy and Neko, though I can't say how effective either will be in this team. It's hard to tell overall but looking at their individual play styles I'm guessing (yup, another guess, go figure!) that this is going to be an aggression focused team. As for the synergy comment...Yakpung, Ivy and stellar come from the same team and both their tanks like to play relatively aggressive. Whether that translates to synergy or not, I do not know. I'm not sure that's something we can even speculate about right now, we've never even seen them play as a team.
Entertaining post to read though.
Sideshow's back with his video series. From the man himself: "Series talking about shit, most recent one is breaking down the playstyle of AF.Blue. Before that it was Selfless adding Carpe and Midnight, predictions for Contenders, freecam thoughts, etc."
You can pick up the previous offerings here:

post was moved to it's own thread:
Stage Power Rankings might be where it's at. Looking at how well teams did compared to their pre-stage one rankings and where people expect them to be after stage 1. And so on.
I'm surprised people can give opinions that are this in debt with the lack of data on these new teams. Looking forward to seeing who's gonna be luckier with their blind guess.
At this point I'm not sure you can over-hype Dallas. They look like a middling team, maybe. SFS though, they look like they could be king slayers, or implode in an absolutely fantastic fashion.
Looking forward to seeing which it is.
No explanations given, just my gut feelings and biases.
He was in OWL, didnt impress and was middling at best. Not sure if he "deserves" to be picked back up by an OWL team but I do hope he finds another home to show what he's got.
Runaway giving a bit of hope to their opponent before mercilessly crushing it over the next 4 maps.
