I mean Carpe wasn't near to being considered one the top dogs when he was in Korea, and he ended up doing fine in FaZe.

Wasn't too clear, meant mid-map
I did. That particular sentence doesn't make sense is all.
Embrace the memes.
All jokes aside, this roster is actually one of the sickest in OWL. If you could make player swaps mid-game map, this would be a contender for the title imo.
And I'm so happy for SPACE, let Roadhog be meta again BlessRNG
7 players seems a bit tight compared to what other teams have got, but damn do I love everything in that reveal video.
Anyone know anything about Asher ?
Surefour, Bischu and Remiix confirmed.
Btw I legit was thinking why no one picked purple in their colour scheme yesterday after Philly was announced. And it's on Rein, couldn't get any better.
BoomBox then ? IIRC Zuppeh was a really good Ana, might bring in more balance.
And talk about a player not known to anyone a couple months ago, BigG00se living the dream, good for him.
Has to be BoomBox.
I don't know how this needs to be said again, but you need to chill the fuck down and stop calling people stupid. I've seen dumb shit come out of some of your posts too.
Just fucking relax and quit the keyboard warrior act, it's really annoying at one point.
I like the skit and the colour scheme. The rest is pretty meh to me.
I hope they at least get Shaz and Fragi. They are clear upgrades on Rein and flex support, and Zappis is a well rounded player that built 2 successful teams, but he said he wouldn't be in S1.
Doesn't look very promising so far.
You guys (and others in this thread) are taking this way too seriously. This is not the first banter post this forum has seen, nor will it be the last. There are worse threads over here.
He literally prefaced his post saying this was gonna be banter.
I say you do you dude. Although I'd say up that banter game, cause Dallas bouta Fuel those guns up some Outlaws' asses.
Wat? BromaS is a nut.
South Korea will win but anyone who thinks a US upset is impossible
Are you drinking koolaid then ?
This most likely will be the rest of FaZe + Surefour and others.
Like the video, most importantly the effort put in it, love the branding.
I think you're putting SBB way too high on the rankings. Don't get me wrong, one of the best korean tracers, but Sinatraa is sick too (and god knows how much I hate myself for saying this).
Also CoolMatt and Zunba are pretty neck and neck on Dva. The rest is heavily in Korea's favour besides Adam's Mercy vs Jehong's.
3-1 SK, but a close series overall.
Chris is gonna eat Cwoosh alive on Rein. Sweden will most likely play dive for the most part, but I believe in the lads. LET'S GET IT! 3-2 UK
Too harsh for Mercy at first glance, but she needs to go down the Roadhog path to see better days in the future.
I'm actually really surprised they didn't get a second main tank.
I don't know when hog was played all the time it was triple tank meta. Dignitas, to say the least, was in their darkest time during that era. Never really saw him pull it against top teams.
Jake can play Hog too, but it doesn't compare to others in the league.
I mean of course if Hog's back they'll put someone to practice on it, but it's not the same. Not to mention they got 2 great off tanks but their hero pools are redundant.
They can't run a Roadhog comp to the level most other teams can. I mean why not have a Hog specialist, there are a few available too...
Oh wait, just spotted the typo LuL.
I really like what they did branding wise. The logo, the name, the skin, SICK!
The roster is 50-50 for me, some names I really like in there, some not so much. Can't wait to see them in action.
I completely agree with your last part about Mercy. Not totally about the rest.
I think the heroes you named have low skill floor, as in they don't need to do a lot to make them work in most tiers (hold shield, amp up on weak allies, leaping on the backline are not very hard concepts). Lucio especially is top 3 in skill ceiling imo, so many ways you can win fights with good understanding of the hero.
The tanks you mentioned don't require much mechanical skill, but cooldown management, timing and decision making are not something anyone can pull off, moreso when there are so many ways to individually counter them.
I agree with you on Reaper though, one of the easiest heroes as well.
I certainly hope so. But even though some roster intros were fine, they could exponentially increase the quality of them just with minor details.
Best player intro for me was dhaK's, the beat dropping right with the Lucio pose and that sick in-sync wallride into 5 man boop from a scrim.
You can make instant fan favourites just with a well done video is all, what can I say I'm a sucker for detail.
This legit looks like some Avast meme LuL
Teams could do so much more if they invested time in it, this is like the first impression you're giving to everyone watching...
I'm thinking Blizzard is hitting a brick wall when it comes to finding a good balanced kit for Mercy, which is why they're pushing changes to Ana, although they're very welcome in my eyes if it makes her more playable.
As a tank main (most of which is Winston), Mercy heals are my bane, literally frustrating at times when there's no follow up damage. Ana's heals are counterable with bubbles or anti nades of your own for example.
Plus Ana has an infinitely higher skill floor and ceiling than Mercy ever will, ergo she's more challenging (=fun for me) and more satisfying to pull off. Plus better entertainment value when watching pro players come up with amazing clutch plays.
Fiveking's Lucio tattoo is sick! Why are main supports the coolest players
xQc wasn't in contenders S1, kind of makes no sense to compare them.
No they're not. What gives the edge to koreans is their commitment to their team and their craft, which westerners are lacking. And it shows even more on a game so reliant on teamplay as Overwatch is.
Mechanically, westerners have nothing to envy from koreans.
Nevix the monster. My favourite EU player since I first saw him on old Misfits, glad he made it in OWL, although I was kinda hoping he'd get on a better team.
There's a big difference between playing a comp once and most of your roster being DPS players. LGE players could all play any tank, SF can't.
Good to know, although their only hitscan is Fl0w3r, since SBB's Mccree was pretty awful to be completely h. I'm guessing they worked out solutions to counter a Pharahmercy, but still.
Zunba-Mano vs CoolMatt-FCTFCTN might very well be the decider for this game actually. Looking forward to it.

Rejoice all, Big Cheese is on the case.
Although, idk if it's internet pressure and the bad press Blizzard has gotten because of this that made him look into it or a pure misunderstanding, but we hopefully get to have more of Harsha's interviews PogChamp
I feel like this will be way closer than people think. Not just because of Mercy, but the US squad is pretty good tbh.
So many good matchups in this game too.
Also interested in knowing how Fl0w3r's Pharah is cause JAKE's is pretty good, and Adam's Mercy (assuming he'll be playing her here) is better than Jehong's by a stretch.
He did quit OW because he didn't like the way Blizzard is going with OWL (not prioritizing competitiveness).
YIKES :candle:
LG Gods' Widow 3k vs C9 was the first ever moment I actually PogChamped IRL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7jgwL8F_HU
Context for this is so good too, Mccree was like a surprise pick from Surefour after being a must pick for the longest time, and Gods just comes in and rolls. IIRC Reaver swaps to Widow on 2nd and it's game over for LG.
There's also this one from my favourite team ever, Gingerpop's Ana 5k vs Selfless with the sick sleep on Dafran's nanovisor https://youtu.be/O2gjjAKuSRU?t=107
So many to choose from though..
IIRC CoolMatt's Zarya was pretty sick, although the scene has changed a lot, and there are a lot of new offtankers as opposed to that era of Overwatch.
Doubling on roles is actually the smartest thing to do going forward. They added a flex DPS, a flex support and a main tank. Got everything covered and some more.
Other than that, I'm curious as to how you came with that statement about Fragi and Tonic being better ?
People need to realize that regardless of their perception of a player's skill level, there are plenty other factors that go in when picking up a player.
Yes! Train is sick too. Although I think CoolMatt would be the starter, but would still be good to see him in.
He barely played Rein with Arc6, it was full on dive meta in the last 2 OMMs. And imo whenever he was on Rein he did pretty good, the synergy with SPACE was so good.
His Winston is better, but I wouldn't say his Rein is sub par. Plus you can't really compare with Cocco who is more on the defensive side, playstyles are not the same.
I'm trying to be objective here, I think he's top 3 main tanks in NA. No one grinds this game like he does too, yes he's loud and can rub some people the wrong way, but he's a good player and has a huge following.
I was secretly wishing for a LiNkzr Surefour duo. Can you imagine!! Hopefully it's still doable.
Also I got you with the upfrags whenever I see the downfrags.
That play wasn't his fault tbh, he insta dies if he doesn't jump.
I know Jake and Mendo can play hitscans, but from what they showed before, not nearly as good as they are on projectile.
And I personally can't fathom how Mendo is in OWL, he has a good network and a pretty big fanbase, but he has been benched time and time again since the OG FaZe and even before. It's a given that he's more mature and that's in the past but still, don't understand this whole situation.
It might be true yeah. But it would leave the current leaked roster with 3 projectile players and 0 hitscans. And even one hitscanner seems insufficient seeing the rest of the OWL rosters.
I'm just gonna wait for the announcement, not gonna get Jebaited Kappa
Genji's deflect hitbox is large for sure, but when has it ever been game breaking ? Genji's actually one of the heroes with the highest skill ceiling in the game. Plus comparing a potential one shot ability on 80% of the hero roster to a mere deflection is a bit too much imo.
Most broken hero after Mercy, and he's not even broken, just a really strong ability, is Junkrat with the double 120 mines. Bring them down to 80-90 dmg each and everything's fair. Besides Mercy, which the dev team is working on.
Runaway didn't put Kaiser in in the APEX finals though, might shake things up. Although Tizi did good, I believe Kaiser's Rein is one of the best in Korea, haven't seen Gesture's yet. It'll be an exciting game for sure.
Of course he does, everyone in his position would want that. But there's no reason for him to publicly go out and say what he said without it being true. So I'm pretty sure this isn't the exact roster, unless he's giving us the 1,2 step and this is the exact roster. Fuck...
