You do realise that long callouts create chaos in comms, that's why teams have shotcallers, obviously the shotcaller will have to be somewhat proficient in whatever language the team is using.
And you prepare your strategies before the game starts, everybody pretty much knows where to go and what to do against a given team. I'm not saying it's easy, but words such as hotel, level 3, heals, peek, take damage and whatnot are not hard to communicate. As I'm sure that sticky situations might arise from time to time, but progress comes with practice.
I don't see how having different tanks impact how callouts work, if you could give me an example maybe we can discuss this part.
And yes, asians might have a more difficult time speaking it since they don't have latin languages to relate words to. But they take gaming careers seriously, so I don't think they'll be discouraged very easily.
#34 Well before every fight, the shotcaller's/main tank's (in some cases) job is to lay out target focus before engaging, among other things. If a Tracer at a top tier level is constantly sticking the wrong target, then you wanna be looking at a different Tracer to pick up for your team. Successful teams are successful because everybody is on the same page especially during the tougher moments.
And just my take on what you said, trading Pulse bomb for Res is a huge win, but I'm guessing that was just a random example.
#37 I'm not talking about shotcalling though, maybe that wasn't clear. And you brought up Zebbo, who was shotcaller for old Misfits that won the Overwatch Open 2016. They had 3 Swedes and 3 French players.
And Pine ? Pine plays Mccree and Widow, never seen him play anything else. Who's their Genji, Pharah, Reaper, Junkrat, etc assuming Pine can pick up Soldier 76 pretty fast. I don't see how that's a flexible duo tbh.
P.S: 500 word essay due tomorrow HAhaa.
I don't really understand this communication barrier thing. In game, callouts are obvious and are for the majority one word callouts.
Outside the game, as in team bonding and stuff, I'd get the point but not when we're talking in-game. Almost everbody who games knows bits of english, or at least understands bits of it.
Get a tutor in there with some english only team bonding activities or whatnot and english will come in no time.
As for LWB, it would've been way better if Flow3r was able to compete, cause they're looking scary this season, and everybody's yet to see them in action. Only problem is SBB's hero pool is limited, his OWC Mccree was not looking good tbh, so they'd need one or two extra players to fill up.
You don't see Korean squads picking international players up, hopefully they decide to go with some unexpected picks. They can do some damage in S1 for sure.
100%. I think everybody knows that Super/Jake wouldn't do as much if not for speed, heals, tanks peeling etc. But my point was, for the most part, that perception matters a lot in this type of situations.
Obviously, and sadly, when someone's making a play, casters (and viewers) for the most part will engage on the play itself, rather than how/why it really happened. Which subsequently gives less exposure to supporting teammates.
Jake and Super are definitely the flashier players of the team, but it takes 6 to make it happen. Funny you mention that, this reminds me of Talespin/Reaver back when they got ripped online for not doing good when Taimou/Surefour were so heavily supported.
At least you guys stuck it out together until the end. Good luck.
Major difference between a meaningless ranked game and consistent scrim results. Not saying they are top 2, saying based on scrim results, a bunch of pros say they are.
Only ones sitting pretty safe are Jake and Super. Avast, Train, Voll and Rob can get spots in T1.5 T2 easy, the first two will have an easier time than the latter imo. They gotta grind for that OWL spot though.
Good luck to all of them, OG Hammer Time Twitch spam right here.
According to a bunch of pros, NRG is in top 2 NA right now (from scrim results), their roster is set for the most part. Public release will be in the next few days I'm guessing.
:hammer: :alarm_clock: BibleThump
I don't know, if Mccree ends up being a softy he loses his street cred, that's a yuge nono.
I like hating that it takes this long, if that makes sense. Having a bunch of films in a short period of time takes a big part of the enjoyment and anticipation for me.
Although, a short every 3 months or so wouldn't be bad tbh. I just love how 'real' the connection to the characters is.
Hard to make a bulletproof plot for fictional characters in 10 minutes tbh. Maybe I'm just a sucker for shit like this, but every cinematic since day 1 has been A level though. They play on viewers' emotions which is what a good short/film should do imo.
Nah just talked about Junkertown and then popped the short.

Who esle shed tears ? I sure fucking did, no fricking shame, Mei has always been one of my favourite heroes.
Overwatch cinematics are honestly movie-worth. The detail, story, soundtrack and the whole vibe are amazing (no play).
I don't necessarily agree with Shadder being a better hitscan than Seagull. Everytime he popped the 76 on Liquid it was really lackluster. Who has the better Genji is debatable for me, although I might be biased cause Seagull is my papa (insert Seagull fanboy meme here please).
And I agree on Smex, top fucking tier Hog, he showed he has some Dva chops, and he can play a bunch of DPS as well.
Best in-game leader and callouts, I name dhaK.
https://www.twitch.tv/dhak
You hit the jackpot if you hear 'Pharah has barrrrage'.
And Custa is australian, unlucky.
Fucked up PogChamp squad:
xQc - CoolMatt69 - Surefour - Seagull - Adam - Roolf
I doubt we'll get this iteration just cause S4 and Seagull together is so dreamy that it seems impossible.
My personal favorites:
xQc - Smex - Sinatraa - Seagull - DhaK - Custa
This squad honestly looks doable to me. Not sure about either Sinatraa or Danteh as both of them play the same heroes and are really good at them, I just give the edge to Sinatraa cause he can play hitscans as well.
Also with xQc and Smex ranked history I doubt this'll work LUL
Yes definitely one of the best in NA with Bischu, who's not talked about as much but equally as good, and both of them have nutty Zaryas as well. CoolMatt can 76 as well so that might be a plus.
And to reply to BillDozer, I actually am not sure about neither Sleepy's or Space's age, it was just a hunch.
And btw, Space would be a sick flex to pick up too. I guess flex is where the OWL spot locking competition gonna be at.
Damn LWB is rolling in low blows these last few weeks. Luna now this, unlucky...
I'm gonna go on a limb and say the player that wasn't in Contenders is Sleepy, who's a very good flex support.
My prediction for the roster would be Dhak as main support, Mesr/xQc for main tank, CoolMatt/Bischu on Flex and Sinatraa on DPS.
I also wanna see Seagull back in this team to round it up, with his pool they literally can run anything at a top level. If not Seagull, then I hope it's Nesh (although very doubtful seeing some of the DPS names that are FA as of this moment).
Official press conference with all the LH players after the announcement https://www.twitch.tv/videos/168836426
If anybody could translate into a paragraph or so what have been discussed, it would be the shit.
By the way, the fucking player intro clips are sick.
Harbleu is a nutty (for real, one of the best NA) Zarya and Reaper also. Roadhog is his trademark hero, but he can flex some muscles too.
Touché. But still, with all the good things being said about new NRG, I was hoping he'd be in it.
Welp, I guess more Harb streams, only + side.
There's no team more deserving of OWL Seoul than MVP Space.
Who else lost it when Junkrat went Kreygasm ?
Jehong is so recognisable with his hair pulled to the side tbh
Decider match for LH. I wish this was the last group game but will still be very entertaining.
If this doesn't end up with a 3-2 for either side, I auto downfrag myself for a week.
What a hold! Faze got ran over since Buds switched to Sombra, but they somehow held it.
SDB FIST ME!
Retzi's not to blame for the last two maps (only ones I watched). Is Mykl doing anything ? Besides the nanoblade, fuck no! Singling somebody out in a close game is pointless.
His ults were bad but he constantly put Bischu and Remiix in check. They lost KR and VI to two bad plays, feelsbad.
I believe Pookz fat fingered his, but Jer's was just garbage, they would've won that if he held on to it for like 3 more seconds.
Pookz got a lease on life after that Jer sound barrier. Chokerino.
EDIT: I'm gonna break something.
Alright I'm pissed. I know Mangachu had to go in after Zachareee grav'd but Primo whiffed it.
LFT quarterback

Give me more King's Row please, so many phat games on this map
Logix, Davin and now Snillo. Are EU tracers on steroids this weekend ? Snillo's tracking is fucking crazy.
I guess whoever pulls out Doomfist first wins this.
Ma boi Fact let's go! And Rawkus said SDB Carpe duo is nutty, can't wait.
I think casters play a role (albeit small) in viewership as well.
No DoA and Monte, no Uber and JKap, no ZP and Hex. Bren did a great job but he's not known much to the casual viewer base who are more used to seeing ZP with Hex and Uber I think. And even though I kinda liked GB on the OWWC desk, him and X were meh to me tbh, missed many plays, they hype for big plays was not really there, didn't get me hooked up.
I was thinking the exact same thing. French is my native tongue so I watch a bit of uNKOE, it would be jokes on another tone, but it was borderline arrogance and cockiness at one point. They'll definitely wake up now that a perceived T2 team took em down.
NiCO so underwhelming throughout the whole series, uNKOE not the fragger we know, aKm was doing all right but still not THE aKm. Only Soon and Knoxxx brought it in my eyes. Great upset, totally deserved win. GGs
Eunited game was a 3-1, sure series was good but it wasn't as close. And as I said in another post, the players themselves said they barely prepared for OWWC so I don't count those (they lost 2 maps out of 16 btw) but even with, that's like 8 games in what, 7-8 months of total domination ?
I don't know about always, the only maps that were close were the 2 Selfless finals, the Arc6 Semifinal, KDP and LH.
What a hold! Still don't know how Rogue threw that big of an ult advantage away...
Pawg fucking Champ. Jaru and Chris are beasts. I don't know dude, Overwatch is too good.
100%. And it was mostly a reply to me anticipating a 3-1 for IMT, couldn't have been more wrong.
Not saying IMT is garbage or anything, but nV never stops amazing me..
