EnVyUs’ Taimou has been fined for the second time by OGN after leaking the identities of the other APEX Season 2 invited teams over Twitter. The fine comes as a monetary penalty as well as a written warning, according to the announcement, as a result of violating the confidentiality clause of the OGN APEX contract.
Taimou’s tweet, quickly deleted, was spread on discord and eventually picked up by reddit and news sites. It confirmed that the four Western teams invited to OGN APEX Season 2 were EnVyUs, Misfits, Cloud9, and Fnatic.
The news hit mere hours after Taimou had enjoyed his Korean BBQ, but it is assumed that this fine will not affect the player or team in any major way.
OGN evidently take their announcement of details very seriously and this fine is meant to reflect that. The translated post from the APEX production team states: “Our APEX crew will communicate more closely with the players to prevent this from happening in the future, and I hope Taimou will become more mature as a result of this work.”
Taimou was previously fined during APEX Season 1 in October 2016 for making lewd comments towards an interviewer in Twitch chat.
Taimou and EnVyUs play their first game of APEX Season 2 against promoted team MVP Infinity on Tuesday, 17th January.
