ANNOUNCEMENT #2 - Roster Additions
— Chengdu Hunters (@ChengduHunters) January 15, 2020
We are happy to announce that our signed streamer Xin “Leave” Huang has turned 18 and will officially join the Overwatch League as a player for the Chengdu Hunters. There are three additional players joining the Hunters. #LetsGoHunt #OWL2020
Shao-Hua “ATing” Chen, former player for Nova Monster Shield, has transferred to the Chengdu Hunters playing the Tank position.

Chengzhi “Molly” He and Jingyi “Lengsa” Chen, both former LGE.HUYA players, have transferred to the Chengdu Hunters playing the Support position.
Leave joined the Hunters in July last year, but not as a player, instead as a streamer for the team. This was due to his age at the time, as he was too young to sign an Overwatch League contract. Having since become eligible for the League, Leave will be joining the Hunters as his first organization after Miraculous Youngster disbanded in December of 2017. Leave was a part of the Chinese national team at the Overwatch World Cup for the past three years, however he had to sit out in 2019 due to health issues.
Leave played in the Esports Shanghai Masters tournament for the Hunters, where he and the team fell in the grand finals to the Shanghai Dragons.
Leave will be joining ATing, Molly and Lengsa as new additions to the Hunters. All three have been a part of the now-defunct LGE.Huya, Chengdu's former academy team, however ATing never played in any Contenders matches for the team. Prior to joining LGE.Huya, ATing played for Hong Kong Attitude, where he clinched the championship title during Contenders 2018 Season 3: Pacific. ATing also played for Nova Monster Shield in the latest season of Contenders Pacific, falling in the semifinals to eventual champions Talon Esports. He has also represented Taiwan in the past two iterations of the Overwatch World Cup. ATing will be joining DPS player Baconjack as the only two players on the roster that are not from mainland China.
Molly and Lengsa are long-standing members of LinGan e-Sports, having been with the team even before they partnered with the Hunters to become Chengdu's academy team. In 2019, the two achieved two domestic titles with LGE.Huya as they won both seasons of Contenders China. However, their domestic success did not translate internationally, as LGE.Huya failed to win a single match at both the Pacific Showdown and Gauntlet. The trio will be joining JMAC as LGE.Huya alumni in the Overwatch League.
In addition, the team revealed their new coaching lineup for the 2020 season, with Ray and Dokkaebi serving as co-head coaches and Garry transitioning to a new role on the team as assistant coach.
ANNOUNCEMENT #1 - Coaching Staff
— Chengdu Hunters (@ChengduHunters) January 15, 2020
We are proud to announce that Chia-Hua “Ray” Chang, former assistant coach of the Chengdu Hunters, and Xiuqing “Dokkaebi” Wu, former head coach of LGE.HUYA, will be acting as co-head coach for the Chengdu Hunters.
Li “Garry” Guan, former Support player for the Chengdu Hunters, will stay in team as an assistant coach. #LetsGoHunt #OWL2020

The Hunters will have both Ray and Dokkaebi serving as co-head coaches for the team. Ray was previously an assistant coach for the Hunters, while Dokkaebi coached the Hunters' academy team. This will not be the first time an Overwatch League team have had multiple coaches serving as head coach. In 2019, the Philadelphia Fusion appointed Hayes and NamedHwi as co-head coaches for their team. The two will be replacing head coach RUI, after he retired from coaching due to health issues.
Garry will also be moving over to the assistant coach role on the Hunters. He had extremely scarce playtime in the 2019 season, playing only three maps over the course of the entire season as he was largely benched in favour of Kyo and Yveltal. A seasoned veteran who has played competitively since early 2017, this will be Garry's first stint as a coach.
The team previously bid farewell to YangXiaoLong and jiqiren earlier in the offseason. The Hunters now stand at 11 players heading into the 2020 season.
