Nevix joins the team after winning the 2019 Overwatch League championship with the San Francisco Shock. He is the only player from that roster to enter free agency this offseason.

He was with the Shock for two seasons, and in fact was the only player from their opening day lineup in 2018 still be on their roster during their championship run. Nevix parted ways with the team in October.

The Defiant have built a mixed roster that is predominantly western this offseason and now have nine players on their team. Four of their players are North American (and three of which are Canadian), three are European and two are Korean.

Currently, their tank line is made up of main tank Beast and Nevix. They have no other tank players on their roster at the moment.
