Vallutaja is not in the OWL...teams stop searching for players...he will try to form a team with other tryharders for OWC season 2. This is a shame.

Unfortunate, but expected with the limited spots available in OWL. Hopefully Contenders and the rest of the tier 2 scene will be viable for both Orgs and players.

Yep he is really able in finding talents and form good teams....hope he will be in OWL in some way....he absolutely deserves it (also as a player)

Also if teams are not searching anymore players plrobably Boombox is in the OWL as is status leave to intend.
Seems like OWL will be not a total failure.....

If OWL scouting is mostly over, are GC Busan not going to get picked up? What about Gigantti, I can't imagine Linkzr and Shaz not getting on a team after their performance in contenders.

Shaz never really had a chance to shine in the spotlight on hammers and Chavs so Gigantii was the only stage for big eyes to notice him and Linkzr is probably being scouted right now

I doubt GC Busan was part of the conversation much, if at all, since their massive success has been limited to just the one recent tournament and relatively few games, even if they were huge wins.

Don't get me wrong, I'm 150% retracting myself sleeping on them, three times no less, but you don't just want a team that's good right now (see the most recent iteration of eUnited), you want a team with staying power, and we don't know if that'll be the case for GCB in the long run.

LH and KDP did get rocked but both have shown that they've been strong over large periods of time, more so in the case of LH.

I agree. I think GC Busan, Gigantti, and Miraculous Youngster are the teams that are strong enough to compete in the OWL. FaZe is also pretty strong but needs some new members to fill in their weakness to compete with the top teams. RunAway, X6, Afreeca, Rogue, C9-EU, and 123 would be great starting place to build a team around.

Realistically speaking though, I don't think GC Busan will be picked up because their prowess was only recently shown, and I think most of the teams are finishing up their roasters now. If GC Busan can continue to show their strength in the next season of APEX, I certainly hope to see them getting picked up. If somebody can buy Busan spot and sign GC Busan? That would just be amazing.

For Gigantti, Miraculous Younster, and FaZe, I would be confused if most of them are not already picked up. For Rogue, C9-EU, and 123, I hope to see most of them picked up as well. For other Korean teams though, I don't think it is likely to see a lot of them, probably just a few star players.

If all the teams you mentions stick around they make compelling choices for S2 possibly adding more teams to OWL. They'll need to stay at the top of their respective scenes for that to happen but it could be the fuel needed to keep the pyramid stable.

I've had the impression majority of gigantti, if not the whole squad is reccruited already, or in the process. I've just been reading between the lines and the smile on linkzrs face in some interview.. Cant remember which :p

What purpose does it serve these teams to wait another 2-3 weeks before they announce their rosters? Is there some strategic marketing advantage to be gained? There definitely isn't a competitive advantage. Unless they are all scrimming in secret. But you'd think we would have more leaks if that were the case.

There is some optimism to be had for players that won't be making OWL this season. It seems apparent that there are teams interested in being a part of OWL in future seasons (namely Rogue since they explicitly stated their intentions to be a part of the second season) that will likely want to build Contenders team to try and get a jumpstart on roster building. There is always a chance Vallutaja, 123 (who stated on Twitter that they are still looking for an org), or any other org-less player or team could end up on Rogue or some other endemic hoping to squat their Contenders spot and begin building for next season of OWL.
