Carpe vs Soon, the only match up I'm looking forward to in this game. If Rogue manage to win this they have an actual chance of making it back to the top 4 if they can win all their remaining matches save for the one against EnvyUs.

That being said, I think FaZe wins 3-1.

Even though Rogue showed some new looks against IMT it probably won't be enough to take down the insane duo that FaZe is sporting.

Rogue can upset them, but I think FaZe has the upper hand here. FaZe are the favorites to win 3-1 or 3-2 (4-0 is not expected from neither sides) but if Rogue can clutch it like they did against IMT and have done in the past, I reckon they can beat everyone in Contenders that they will face for the rest of their 7 games except for EnVy. Their best bet is EnVision crushing Kungarna (which before was pretty likely but since Fahzix won't probably be in it would be much more close). However, Rogue did bring out some new comps and did pretty well on the comp they ran on Lijiang (winston zarya but also rein zarya). My brain says FaZe 3-1 Rogue but my heart says Rogue 3-2 FaZe.

Welp, I feel like Carpe won that duel hands down. Even more so because he actually won several 1v1 against Soon. Oh and for what it's worth Soon isn't one of the best when it comes to Tracer 1v1, in fact he usually tries to avoid them as much as possible. The one he lost on Nepal ended up being the nail in the coffin for that map and it shows that if teams can shut down Soon they have a very clear path to victory.

Because AKM gets manhandled by the enemy D.Va and Nico, while better on that hero than AKM, has a long way to go to be "effective" on her, I feel like they as a team will continue to struggle for a while. Either until they change up the roster, or until the day where triple DPs is once again viable.

Looking forward to seeing what the incoming hero reworks do for these guys but in any case I really feel like they need a more versatile flex DPS, so that Soon can stay on Tracer, or flex to niche picks when necessary.

The only way Rogue wins this is if they stop relying on Soon to do all the work. Unkoe and AKM are supposed to be the world class stars in this team, and neither of them have performed at all throughout the first 3 weeks of contenders. Nico, Winz and Knoxx all have their limits, but the other 3 are what makes Rogue the difference between how they were before the World Cup and how they are now. If they can sort their shit out then Rogue can win this one comfortably.

I don't think they will though and still see Faze being clear favourites for this one. 3-1 Faze.

If everything continues as is, this may likely be a 3-1 or 3-2 for faze. However, if Rogue do indeed "bring it" and fix up the mistakes they were making previously (and apparently not on proper setups), they could win.

Most likely: FaZe 3-1/3-2, because Rogue is still playing from Canada with 100+ ping

That's interesting, I play from Canada and usually get 20-30 ping on average. Honestly ping would be the least of their problems considering the set up they would be in and their lack of effective flexibility.

If Rogue lose it won't be because of arguable ping disadvantage.

why do you say they are in canada? winz posted this: https://twitter.com/Rogue_winz/status/904526322466136064 on twitter only 3 days ago and the phone number on the cart has 702 in it which is a nevada area code.

And also why would they be in canada?

I think it will be a tough game for both teams. I guess it will end up with a 3:2 score with a crazy individual play in tie breaker

FaZe 3-1, they're just better than Rogue right now.

Rogue 3-2 Faze. I like me some upsets and this game is also SoOn v Carpe, aKm v SDB, Knoxxx v FCTFCTN.
NiCO and aKm have to bring the A+ game for this one.

not really aKm vs SDB, because aKm is playing hitscan, not projectile. If aKm, NiCO, and uNKOE bring it back (akm and unkoe to the level they were playing against the 2 best teams in the world) they can definitely win, I want a close upset (Rogue 3-2 FaZe)

It'll be aKm's job to shut down SDB whether he's on hitscan or Dva. Genjis are not supposed to shut down Genjis

I thought you meant as in 1v1s, like how well they perform compared to their counterparts. If you were talking about aKm trying to shut down SDB, then I agree with you.

I'll go big and call a FaZe 4-0, but by no means do I think this one won't be at least kinda close in the end.

I think Soon is a talented Tracer, but only has so much of an impact. So many players have caught up to him and surpassed him. Nico has started doing less and less every game. Winz is a liability.

Get some N E W people Rogue

Also I think an awesome roster for next years French World Cup team would be: Hqrdest, Leaf, Knoxx, Kryw, Pipou, Hidan/unKoe

Is this game worth the watch or nah ?

Also I think SoOn has less of an agressive playstyle than his competition. I've never seen him be interested in 1v1ing tracers unless she's last alive. If the enemy tracer chases him, she's not on his supports is my guess for why, but I could be wrong.
He harasses the backline and stays alive as much as possible to buy cart time/make space for Knoxxx to come in.
I agree that although very strong mechanically, he definitely is not the scariest in that regard. Guys like Sinatraa, Logix, Davin, SBB and Snillo look much more polished there, but they don't do as much scouting as SoOn does imo.

I imagine it's just a lack of confidence. When your team is performing as poorly as Rogue are, you don't want to be the one making the mistakes and getting picked first. Before their slump, Soon would always be on the backline getting the first pick in matches and winning them fights. Now he'd rather just be a nuisance and hope that either AKM or Nico get the pick. It's a bit like Vallutaja on eUnited.

I'm sure lack of confidence has a big role to play in Rogue's slump, but the way I see it is Rogue became too predictable. This is why teams have an analyst and/or do VOD reviews. They start picking up on patterns teams use to engage in fights, among other things. Rogue dominated the NA scene for quite some time, and teams definitely looked at their games the most to know why and more importantly why.

I also don't think it's fair to put Vallutaja and SoOn on the same boat, for the sole reason that the latter is a constant in terms of pulling through when the team would look totally disjointed.

Soon would always be on the backline getting the first pick in matches and winning them fights.

I think this is a good point you brought up as I noticed teams being way more agressive against Rogue. Here's my take on it.
Obviously a player can't become bad (or not as good if you want) in a matter of weeks. Logic would want this to be more of a team failure to renew itself (or, and imo more accurately, enemy teams upping their game). You can't, especially as a flanker, be effective in the backline if the rest of your team is getting outpressured.
All of us here know that aKm and uNKOE will stick together, or that Knoxxx will primal rage to buy cart time if need be, etc. There are many more small details that we can't pick up on unless we do an in-depth analysis of Rogue's games.
All this to say that SoOn not being as pesky as before doesn't necessarily mean he lost his edge, only means they're getting outplayed because most of the teams can see them coming.

As for the solution, who knows honestly. Maybe bringing in some new faces will help them find that versatility they desperately need, maybe they'll grow stronger by sticking with their group and pulling through the slump.
