Recently Misfits announced that they would be making a change in the support department through their website and twitter. Former Luminosity Gaming Loyal Lucio Mineral is to replace his former teammate Zave in a straight role swap. Misfits went into more detail in their full press release, stating a need for an in-game leader as key factor behind the switch - one that has become a trending topic when building professional Overwatch teams.
Today we say goodbye to @MisfitsZave from our OW roster and welcome @Mineral_OW!https://t.co/nHOqSgxUWf

Despite gradually improving since their inception, Misfits have achieved underwhelming finishes in IEM Gyeonggi (5-6th), APEX Season 2 (Eliminated at Group Stage) and the Overwatch PIT EU Championships (4th). While they showed glimpses of their potential, they were often upset by less-established teams. Mineral is the intended remedy for these woes. The team is hoping that a strong in-game leader in the Lucio role can bring stability to their performances. Mineral is now the third player from Luminosity to be recruited by Misfits following the three way shuffle in December last year.
Mineral has been a free agent since his departure since the start of March. While the Swede has always performed well for Luminosity, the roster never had a meaningful impact in major tournaments. Joining Misfits presents a new opportunity with a team full of world class players and strong backing from their organization.
With no major upcoming tournaments on the horizon for the all star Swedes, we may have to wait a while to see if Mineral was the missing ingredient. In general, it's clear that Misifts need to return to their previous glories. If not, they can always try recruiting another one of Luminosity’s supports.
The Misfits roster is now:
- Jonathan "Reinforce" Larsson (Tank)
- Andreas "Nevix" Karlsson (DPS)
- Kevyn "TviQ" Lindström (DPS)
- Tim "Manneten" Byhlund (Flex)
- Sebastian "Zebbosai" Olsson (Flex Support)
- Vytis "Mineral" Lasaitis (Support)
