In Stage 2, silkthread saw no playtime, with SoOn, Agilities, and even KariV seeing playtime on DPS heroes despite primarily filling the support role for the Valiant. Additionally with this transfer, silkthread will reunite with Hydration, both of whom competed together during their time on Counter Logic Gaming.
"We’ve done a pretty good job of using multiple players at a given position effectively," said Head Coach David "dpei" Pei in the team's official announcement. "Silkthread will add more flexibility to the DPS lineup we’ve utilized in the past two stages. We’re excited to have him join the team."
The Gladiators fought hard to prove themselves as a team that should be respected by their competition, with their zenith of Stage 2 arguably being their 3-1 upset over the London Spitfire. They ended up missing the stage playoffs, finishing fifth behind the Seoul Dynasty.
Alongside the acquisition of Void which was announced previously, the Gladiators are looking to continue to perform well in the upcoming stage, which will be played on a new game patch and will see the return of maps seen in Stage 1.
