There will be a lot of terrible witting ahead, proceed with caution

With the list of teams for the inaugural season of overwatch league finalized i’ll look at history of different spot owners and rosters. I decided to start with envyus as it's probably the best established both rosters and organizations in overwatch and because starting roster for Austin-Dallas spot will most likely be the same as the current roster.

EnVyUs as organization entered overwatch already during closed beta by picking up Team Hubris on February 2nd 2016. Team consisted of coolmatt69, Talespin, Ras, Minstrel, Stoop and Esper.

Team Hubris was a top north american team with 6 straight tournament victories. After joining boys in blue they kept their good performance by winning weekly tournament organized by gosugamers on 21st of february placing 3rd-4th early next month and after switching esper for buds and role shuffle between players taking the trophy of gosugamers tournament once again in their last tournament under EnVyUs on 20th of march. April 17th team disbanded as players moved on in search of other organizations.

We did not have to wait long for EnVyUs to come back to overwatch as on 23rd of april envyus signed IDDQD (team not the player) and brought back Talespin. This time roster was nearly fully european and consisted of Taimou, chipshajen, TviQ who left in place of Talespin, cocco, HarryHook and INTERNETHULK. From here on EnVyUs became the most dominant rosters we have seen in overwatch taking nearly every title in 2016 and many high placings in 2017 all this with only two roster changes.

IDDQD prior to joining north american organization was one of the best european teams winning 16 tournaments out of 18 they took part in, and placing 2nd and 4th int the 2 tournaments they haven't won.

The first 2 tournaments under north american organisation were overkill and Alienware Monthly Melee for the month of may in which they placed 3rd and 2nd respectively. June brought them their first win in weekly king of the watch tournament after which they haven't slowed down for the rest of 2016 winning 15 more tournaments and 4 qualifiers. Few of the most notable tournaments they won were:

Operation breakout which started on june 11th and ended june 26th, During this tournament envyus haven't dropped single map winning in final against Cloud9 with roster consisiting of KyKy, Grego, surefour, Adam, reaver and deBett. Other notable teams in tournament were Rogue with 4 french players in winz, aKm, uNKOE and KnOxXx supplemented by swedish due in Reinforce and TviQ and sole spaniard ToxikeN. Luminosity with all american lineup consisting of Seagull, Gods, milo, Pookz, Esper and enigma. And REUNITED with best european talent in uNFixed, Winghaven, 2Easy, Morte, Kruis and Vallutaja

OG invitational on 25th and 26th of june this time defeating Luminosity in final and again not dropping a single map. Rosters were same as during operation break out as they were at the same time.

Overwatch APEX Season 1 During which they were actually far from favorites as they lost during group stage to best korean team in Lunatic-Hai with roster of Ryujehong, Leetaejun, Tobi, Dean, Miro and EscA. And with the Rogue looking stronger than ever after ToxikeN left Their match against boys in blue was supposed to end rule of european mix but unexpected changes to D.VA left meta in chaos and EnVyUs which just picked probably best D.VA player at the time in Mickie came back stronger than ever and took the first APEX season 1 with convincing victory over Afreeca Freecs Blue in final.

MLG vegas 2016 during which they totally decimated north american teams losing only 1 map and winning final against revamped FaZe roster now with only 3 americans in Rawkus, FCTFCTN and zombs and 3 european stars in ShaDowBurn, TwoEasy and Forsak3n 4:0

Only 2 teams able to take titles from boys in blue in 2016 were Rogue and Misfits winning 2016 ESL Overwatch Atlantic Showdown - Gamescom and Overwatch Open respectively.

During all this time only change to the roster was signing of Mickie on December 18th after Talespin left on November 16th which paid off in dividends during APEX.

2017 was far less successful for them as well as much less busy as they took part in only 3 tournaments and are now playing in contenders season 1. Their results are far weaker as they placed 5th-8th, 2nd and 4th nonetheless they still are one of the best teams in the world and their lack of results can be attributed to a long time spent in korea during seasons 2 and 3 of apex. With the dominant performance during online stage of Contenders Boys in blue might soon take their first trophy in 2017.

This year only change to the roster was pick up of korean star dps player EFFECT after INTERNUTHULK left and signing of north american dps player and one of the most popular streamers Seagull which was announced shortly after Blizzard confirmed that EnVyUs bought Austin-Dallas spot in Overwatch League

EnVyUs has one of the best overwatch rosters and with the boys in blue on the rise once again north american organization has one of the best possible lineups and they are likely to go deep in the upcoming season 1 of Overwatch League.

Apparently neither Muma, CoolMatt nor Flame have spoken to Wolf. Some people are kinda pissed about that article.
But leaks are welcome here, we can keep secrets KappaRoss.

Really good piece. It's hardly surprising that the two most successful OW teams (Envy and LH) are the ones who have made the least alterations to their rosters.
