HUD makers in overwatch

Do you think once it goes public they will let people customize their own huds to whatever they want (same way tf2 does it maybe better) and if they do what would you guys be looking for in these huds(more minimal etc....) based off what you've seen so far in the game

I think overwatch will be a lot less moddable than the familiar and open source engine. Will it be possible? perhaps, but it is far less likely. Same with community servers, custom gamemodes and skins.

blizzard seems to be really big on everyone seeing the same thing and no UI advantage. They budged a little bit on the FoV, but I don't really thnk they're going to allow 3rd party hud changes, maybe blizzard approved ones you can choose from.

Blizz in general aren't very big on customisation in their games, with the exception of WoW (it p much became a staple mid vanilla - removing it would cause a shitfest).

I don't know if we're going to be able to customise much, if anything. Maybe just an option to move hud elements around would be pretty neat, as well as hud scale.

they better

i haven't gotten a chance to play yet, but i really dislike how cluttered and colorful the game is. i can see how huds would be a massive advantage though.

TF2 went about a year or two without having much customization either. Viewmodel fov was locked and forced on, no crosshair option (including no crosshair at all on the sniper rifle), no damage numbers/hit sound, as well as many other options that are almost essential today. Blizzard will most likely keep a tighter lockdown on custom options but I do think they'll open up on a few as they already have for fov.
