German is correct as well (I believe it is a Russian name), but I think I remember hearing he preferred Herman. Forgot to fix it before so thank you for the reminder.

I put more time and effort trying to reformat Blizzard's player list than I probably should have

At last, our final form: over.au

Unfortunately, I don't think that will happen until teams move to their home locations. With every game on the west coast of the U.S and it being a necessity for times to be as friendly as possible to their potential live audience at the arena, it will be difficult to schedule games at EU friendly times. They can possibly schedule matches early on Saturday, they just have to be careful with which teams they schedule when.

TiZi was signed before Susie became GM. She must not have wanted to take the team in the same direction it was going before

I don't know if that person is or isn't a woman, but I do know that Contenders China had at least one woman competing within it. 177, support for Lucky Future, has been a Chinese pro for awhile: https://www.over.gg/player/1498/177

I had no idea the Valiant had such an advantage in head-to-head matches. This one should be good!

I imagine he'll be in Contenders this season and then be picked up during the free agency period in the fall

posted about 6 years ago

He can't join an OWL team until Season 2 so it was either play with a Contenders team or not play at all until next year

posted about 6 years ago

This is likely the case. While I am unsure if there was any legal followup to the incident or not, I do know that he wouldn't be in prison already if there was any legal action taken against him.

Unfortunately, most, if not all of the writers, are students and OWL up until recently has been during the semester. It was too much of a weekly time commitment to be able to make sure the power rankings could go out every week and it didn't make sense to randomly start them back up again.

We will likely do them again next season, and I'm thinking it will be much more doable if we release it in between each stage rather than once a week.

The Australian Financial Review has reported that Melbourne is being discussed as a potential franchise location for Season 2.

How realistic do you all think this is? Are there other Australian cities that should be considered before Melbourne? What is the most OWL-ready Australian roster? What would there team name be? How would this affect Mert's OCE power rankings?

Oh yeah of course. I think some kind of change needs to be done to make teams more stable at this level. It's a shame teams constantly fall apart from lack of support.

posted about 6 years ago

I don't think they made their changes right before Trials, they just waited to announce them until right before. Additionally, there is little stability for teams without an organization at this level and they can do nothing about players choosing to leave. Not every team changes roster by their own choice, sometimes they make changes because they're forced to after departures and the like.

Realized the list Blizzard was incomplete. Confirming the casting lineups for different regions now and updating the list if there are any omissions.

I propose a Team USA roster that is entirely different from Team USAs of yesteryears:

Danteh
ZachaREE
Dalton
Space
Muma
Moth
Sleepy

In talking to some Europeans, it seemed like some countries put it before and some after, so I didn't really know where to put it.

HOWEVER I have learned from additional research: "The European Union did indeed usher a guideline on the use of the euro sign, stating it should be placed in front of the amount without any space in English, but after the amount in most other languages."

So I'll fix it

All of the three suggestions you mentioned (map stats, hero usage/pick rates, and team compositions) would all be fantastic if they're possible!

They most likely were invited and declined. I couldn't tell you why, but it's likely so the players could rest or because the team has a prior commitment.
