Yup tickets sold out

posted about 7 years ago

Last season had longer final with more fillers which took place at the simillar time (everything simillar) thats why what #17 listed shouldnt have affested viewership and korean it didnt but western viewers were far less

posted about 7 years ago

still korean viewers were simillar to last years, its whats been happening to western scene (what blizzard been or rather havent been doing) caused this

posted about 7 years ago

:( so my plan is ruined (every type? 1 day for every day and 3 day tickets?)

posted about 7 years ago

yea i also thought so but its prodably most popular day so tickets are least likely, well ill see if there are even any tickets available

posted about 7 years ago

Realy? Ive seen only that they were available at ticketpro points nothing about them beeing sold out? Oh well tomorrow ill be at one of them either way so ill check

posted about 7 years ago

Well i compared it to last season when also tgere was no western team in final and numbers are a lot smaller (im repeating myself:

posted about 7 years ago

I might actualy go to katowice, anyone knows how much are tickets and were in katowice it takes place?
Also which day should i go coz i can go only for 1 day

Edit ok i found prices and place so which day is best, what do you think?

can someone explain why bigbads comment is downvoted so much? anyone who sais he doesnt like something will get downvoted to oblivion? He shared his opinion in completly civilized way and i realy dont see reason for this

posted about 7 years ago

last time i think karaoke was even longer, at least it felt so but some run away players had realy nice voices :P and in general these segments between matches i feel like theyve been longer in season 2 final although it might be just my feeling

posted about 7 years ago

all bad excusses

last season it was the same time and it was not delayed

posted about 7 years ago

im interested in western viewers and as already said korean stream had simillar number of viewers as last years its global stream that had considerebly less and i dont think western audience switched to korean tv channel or korean sites ;)

what has the language to do with nicks/names? (i just started watching cs go when ibp got banned so i never realy cared about them and thats why i mixed swags name)

and if i misinterpreted something it might be because i just glanced over what was written and missed something not coz of language. I usually do few things at the same time so it might happen

posted about 7 years ago

i cant remamber single time i misinterpreted something (also what does it have to do with this post anyway? and just for you im gona tell you im at an english uni) if youre talking about spelling mistakes (which i make a lot) i make them in every language i know (also native) other thing is, im terrible at writing,

back on topic comments such as "So Swag himself confirms it and people here are still crying it's not been "confirmed" by AZK? christ." who the fuck is swag to confirme something for azk? because they played togather OVER 2 YEARS AGO they need to be in good touch? so far best confirmation we have is fro shadder who actualy is on team with azk so we can be sure he speaks to him

oh grow up

so far these are only estimates, not sure if my usuall source will release detailed info

ggs could have been anyones game

Final of season 2 apex had over 80k viewers with 40k-50k viewers on the global stream and 30k-40k on korean. I dont want to sounde negative but people who were not happy with what blizzard has been doing seem to have been right because this seasons final has had around 33k korean viewers (simillar to last year) but only around 20k global viewers (less then half of what was last year) and peaked at around 24k (only near the end) peak around 64k overall (16k lower then last years)

posted about 7 years ago

and i order you my minions to fix it ;) owner doesnt need to work

i dont actualy care coz im watching stream but its a bug even if not for everyone (maybe add 2nd row and put next maps there?)

posted about 7 years ago

it doesnt for me, and it shouldnt require tweaks by user to see maps
pls fix

" him feeling the burn out more than him not caring about winning" when you feel burn out you dont care about wining

posted about 7 years ago

taimou could not care less even before they got to semis just go see his tweets and he is star dps of envy so they knew they wouldnt win

posted about 7 years ago

envy havent realy cared (specialy taimou) about this tournament after group stage and rogue got suprised in my opinion (according to korean teams they were wining all the scrims in korea)

posted about 7 years ago

kdp will take it

posted about 7 years ago

i wont be suprised when he decides to play once owl starts

posted about 7 years ago

we should run over.gg

no kappa

im curious how far russia will go this year, their roster doesnt look super impressive but you could have said same last year they but had great plan (everyone do everything for shadowburn to have good blade) and it worked realy well

posted about 7 years ago

you can call it whatever you want even 3rd world war

posted about 7 years ago

not sure if anyone would come back to this thread for this info but good one

posted about 7 years ago

yea but earlier theey still had it even if with only 3 players ( https://www.over.gg/4897/mvp-squads-undergo-major-shuffle )
prodably should have made it clearer

posted about 7 years ago

shufle seems to not be the unswer and mvp drops overwatch roster all togather
https://dotesports.com/overwatch/mvp-drops-overwatch-roster-16220

edit: they drop infinity and have only space now (to be clear)

posted about 7 years ago

actualy dont even know whos that (im realy bad with names and thus also nicks)

posted about 7 years ago

none convinced the other side so none won this discussion (and frankly you cant convince anyone on the internet so its preaty much impossible to win discussions)

i represent minority of over.gg users that are not necessarily negative but sceptical towards owl and not sure you noticed but over.gg doesnt like when someone doubts "the great owl that will save esports and which everyone on the planet will watch" (kappa)

while kuroi represents people who are positive towards it but he also lost his temper at times ("you're not able to comprehend what I'm saying") so lets not make a saint out of him but i think even if we dont agree we have a nice discussion going on and for the internet standards pretty civilized

posted about 7 years ago

(i never make statemant in rl even about most obvieus things, not sure how i write coz i dont focus that much)

well reinventing wheel havent realy worked out so far, so ill stay sceptic and while its not impossible its unlikely blizzard will menage to do it (so far they havent actualy made any of their esports games that successful when compared to lol dota and cs) note im not saying they ll fail at making overwatch succesful esport rather at coming up with new way to make esports

posted about 7 years ago

i dont doubt they will build great tournaments and ecosystem but as i already said its not how great the production and prize pools are if viewers dont enjoy overwatch as an esport (and blizzard actions havent helped it) it all doesnt matter thats my main point

and why should owl give bigger sense of pride? in owc you are even involved (well kinda) in chosing who represents your country also i think most people dont feel special conection with the city they live in but nearly everyone does with the country they are from

wait for poland and usa qualifiers ill make thread about viewership like for the last 2 but there is no way blizzcon breaks 1 milion, last year it was 100k-200k and these years qualifiers peaked at around 80k (shanghay) and 70k (sydney) its not that much

posted about 7 years ago

i dont think its that bold,

can they realy do something amazing and amaze us all? esports are around for quite sometime so i dont think they can reinvent it somehow else

posted about 7 years ago

thats how i am (why i reach for stars so slowly :'( )

also lets call it discussion

posted about 7 years ago

they focus too much on "potential" players and ignore current
my point: owl will not change that much from how pro overwatch looks now for the avg viewers perspective so it starting will not increasy viewertship drasticly (yea it will start high coz of interest in what blizzard was doing so long but later it will drop little bit just because this "new thing" hype train will die) and people waiting for owl like it will suddenly make overwatch top 1 esport are dumb and OWC is a good representation of owl. So far blizzard hasnt done much good for pro scene and in some cases they hurt it (for example not allowing more monthly melees), they should first make it popular amongst people who play their game and realise they will not fill stadiums at first. This whole thing with stupid sums of money for owl spot is not viewer friendly either (nrg has a spot with 2 mediocor players while top na teams dont coz they paid, nrg isnt even that popular)

if overwatch will be interesting and with good production and marketing it will grow but blizzard needs to realise that poplarity of game and how much they enjoy games (monthly melee didnt alweys have best games or production quality still it was one of the most popular western tournaments coz viewers enjoyed it) and not about money and prize poole
enjoyment will bring them viewers not money or production quality, yes they can be part of it but not need to be look (aagain :P ) monthly melee

posted about 7 years ago

have you seen later games of sydney qualifier when they were explaining basics of overwatch? thats why they did it but for me (and i think every) player who knows how overwatch work it affected comentating in a very negative way. I dont want to hear that "tracer is a fast flanking hero that flanks". the thing is they have realy big playerbase but not many people from it watch pro overwatch or prodably be interested in going pro in this game and thats where big problem lies

also while overwatch is easier to watch for someone that doesnt understand game then mobas (at least in my opinion) its still very confusing so its easier and just more logical to 1st atract players and then people that dont necessarily play it

posted about 7 years ago

tell me what from avg viewers perspective (because thats what determines number of viewers) will change when owl starts?

posted about 7 years ago

no you just dont understand that owc has a lot of what was promised from owl: "big" lans, localization, backing "your" team its supported and promoted all over website game and social media, has great production quality, top teams (a lot of the players will be 100% sure in owl) and it still is not that popular

i see too many people stuck on some dream that now its just some random games on internet but when owl apears we will have top teams full stadiums, milions of viewers and so on but the thing is not much will change from viewers perspective and thats wjat determins how many viewers are. There will be pretty much same teams and players, same casters same production quality as during owc (its good and there will be some changes obvieusly but not significant for most of the viewers) and lets be serious they will not fill the stadiums (lets be optimistic and say in the beggining) so localization and home team wont matter that much, we live in the age of internet and people in esport dont realy care about "home" team that much. In "real" sport it worked because back in the days not many people had money to travell to other city or country to watch teams, and there was far less to do then go to home stadium and watch people play not so more now. Im for example fan of rogue (or more accuratly akm) but i live on the other side of the globe so ill never go to vegas, its not my "home town" team but its the team ill follow

also my argument about owc beeing "localized" by a country so it should have more viewers when 2 countries play then when 2 teams from some city play is very true and serious

not sure if you noticed but i keep track of viewers during owc qualifiers and share some thoughts about it on forum and when specific countrys team play their national stream gets nice boost of viewers the biggest ive seen was during china vs thailand match for qualification to blizzcon china got 15k (peak) instead of 2k and thailand 12k (peak) instead of also 2k so overral it was 23k increas WHEN 2 NATIONAL TEAMS PLAY ONLY 23K VIEWERS FROM BOTH THESE COUNTRIES GOT ON STREAM

edit: ok its not like i belive owl will fail, just what blizzard is and was duing is not viewer friendly, not letting tournaments take place (even so popular and well established as monthly melee) so i stay sceptic towards owl
the thing that triggers me is some stupid belife and when owl starts it will be something completly different then is now, it wont be for the most part

posted about 7 years ago

well, "the area" is gona be preaty small compared to country so owc should have more viewers then owl will have

posted about 7 years ago

i on the other hand dont understand this distinction of "the league" like wtf? its esport now and then, only difference will be the organizer of events, nothing else changes so why would viewership change? yea support from blizzard will help, but you can see how many viewers event all over blizzard website and game gets during owc
