No official word. That leaves us to presume it is the same

Historically they had a huge public falling out. Will be interesting to see how they work together.

Yeah. You could almost say "LA glad"

If we are talking about captains in the sense of carrying I suppose that fits. But if we are talking about leadership I doubt there is anyone who challenges SBB in the leader(captain) role.

Ugh.. dynasty. So many good things. I really feel this is a miss-step. At least he is not seemingly headcoach from the announcement.

They are actively being shopped on a trading block most likely

Just a tiny edit. Coach moon name is backwards.

I dont get it. They sign a bunch of Koreans. Then they proceed to fire their only Korean coach. Seems weird. I trust Bearhands knows what he is doing.

I wonder if any of these players are looking to be picked up ;)

So would this be official confirmation that Panker is not in OWL?

They need Runner for a KappaPride.

He probably chose to leave himself knowing that his teammates would be kicked. I assume management would tell him that they were going to release some other guys and manneten didnt want to be a part of the vision for the new team. He can be pretty confident that be would get picked up. Tviq will likely just be either a backup/mentoring player or a full fledged coach. I have no doubt that would be a good fit for him. Of course it is his choice given that so far as we know the team wants to keep him.

Those appear to be the most obvious possibilities. I feel like boink and spree could also be on the chopping block for newer perhaps less specialized players. There is a huge amount of solid players comming out of contenders who should get a chance over these two who left a lot to be desired

He may have wanted to be let go. Or maybe because SHD need a BIG shake up letting go of those you view as your strengths is the right thing to do. For example if a player develops a habit of playing a certain way to make up for the shortcomings of their teammates they may continue to do so when not necessary thus adversely affecting the future performance. We will likely never really know.

You mean benchmeister?

It is pretty funny how few Canadians play on Canadian professional sports teams. We are all pretty used to it.

They have to play him for him to #throw4dafran

Bearhands (team usa gm) did an interview on high noon podcast where he infered on seagull and jake as well as others. Nothing specific was said but if you listen then you can judge for yourself.

At least my 2 cents regarding Junk on Kings row is that Kings Row is one of the few maps that allow for many different Meta comps. This means that a comp that counters junk comps would be more successful. Perhaps Houstons plan was to not play their typical comps in an attempt to negate what they anticipate NYXL was preparing for. It clearly backfired. Either way even if they changed comps they were just being outplayed. Better to put it behind them and concentrate on their next game vs LAV.

Always enjoyed this guy playing in apex. Thats a big Feelsbadman.

The map pool appears to favor NYXL at least based on historic past wins. However this is still more Londons game to win than NYXLs game to lose.

Agreed. Fctfctn should go to fuel to relieve Mickie in DVA. While Florida should be looking at a tank like knoxx or mowzassa.

Gigantti FINNISH roster ahead of contenders.. Come on now. Oportunity missed

Xqc well being in question is dallas fuel's responsibility. Blizzards responsibility is to uphold the integrity of the game. Therefore the punishment. Dallas needs to pull up its boots and make a statement that they are actioning Xqc through punishment or treatment or whatever is the best for him and the team. He should also be cutting back on his streaming time. The community in his stream is clearly not helping him.

In the end you can argue that one player is better than the other on any given map or even any given engagement. The fact lies that what separates the best from the others is adaptation. What makes envy a cut above all other NA team is that they can adapt to almost any scenario. When one player appears to be playing poorly it is because they are purposely enabling or protecting another teammate. Envy understands more than any NA team how to adapt when each of their heroes is being pressured/focused by the enemy team. It may be that for example cocco on winston is being focused so effect on his zarya he showed off today has to protect him. Or maybe harry gets into a bad spot fragging as lucio while a flanking dva jumps into him so taimou on a soldier has to turn around and focus the dva to force the dva to retreat. Thes may be bad examples because I do not play competitive OW. But to a trained eye those seconds of diverted attention can cause you to miss out on a clutch one shot to a zen or a sleep dart to a genji blade.

Long story short some players have bad games. But a team as conditioned as envy have it down to a science. Neither player is necessarily better than the other because each has their specific job. Taimou probably would be a bad mercy like cocco would be a sub par widowmaker. But because they can play to not just their opponents weaknesses but their teammates weaknesses to fill in holes NV will be dominant in NA for some time to come. It is the cohesiveness that makes them win. Not just individual talent. As far as seagull(since he is new) is concerned he is a good addition so long as be is flexing appropriately with the teams already developed flexibility. While this FNRGFE is not a huge challenge he has shown to fit so far.

Truly admirable

Widow changes to venom mine are really great imo. The addition of the visibility just to the widowmaker player ensures that smart widow players will be rewarded through team communication which is always welcome in non professional competitive. GJ blizz.

Perhaps I am too harsh on Jake but my ephasis is on the quality of play on the flex heroes. The fact that he is playing other heroes in not good enough to say he is "flexible." I feel Jake is always spot on at 76 but very hit or miss on even some of his most played heroes like pharah.

posted about 7 years ago

I would like to "correct" (at least in my opinion from viewing almost all of the teams games). Jake is a phenomenal player with massive mechanical ability. When you have a player like that the team's strategy is built around the player. I can think of multiple examples of this. Think Taimou, or Dafran etc. The main goal of some teams is to prioritize keeping their mechanically gifted player alive and in the proper position to do what they do best. I believe Jake to be a part of this meta. While Jake has the appearance of being a flexible player he has largely been force to play the Meta hero due to his mechanical skill. You even see it in the world cup where he will basically be playing soldier almost all of the time. While I agree that Jake is one of the most mechanically gifted players in OW. I disagree wholeheartedly in the quality of his flexibility. Players like Train, Sinatraa, Emongg, Surefour, Tseini, and most of the players on misfits are huge pickups for any team looking for players with a wide pool of heroes. Jake misses the cut on that one. More flexible players will always be desired as they can shift with the meta. We shall see if the next meta dumps anyone off to mediocrity or causes them to rise a new superpower.

Looking at how Canada has struggled to perform to their expected dominant potential in my opinion. I expect the dutch to take a map.Perhaps even two as they would have had expected since the group stage announcements to play either Canada or Russia. I hope that if Canada moves on to blizzcon that they get a lit more practice as they look to be struggling with their coordination. Love my Dutch brothers. Hope they do well.

S4 is unmatched in pharah v pharah duels at least in NA. Assuming there is a map where pharmercy warrants I would say agilities stays on the tracer/genji while s4 takes the pharah.

Whether a glitch or not, Agilities a noble Canadian, when listed under the stream list has a USA flag.. Pls fix.
