That's what I'm talking about PogChamp
I downfragged myself so I wouldn't be left out
Let's calm down now
I love the logo. It's very whole and colorful.
Pumped to root for these guys.
But what about FCTFCTN and Adam
I could see Esca maybe taking a coaching position
In addition to the correct rumored roster, SPREE and Rawkus are also on the team.
And MESR is a coach yay!
I will admit I'm worried about FCTFCTN. This team being a mini team USA, I'm surprised FCTFCTN and Rawkus weren't taken together. I really hope he's in OWL.
Confirmed! Let's goooo
Their logo, name, and rosters are all PogChamps
Good group of DPS players, lots of flexibility
Yet you never nano boosted me
Here's mine:
1) Dallas Fuel
2) Seoul Dynasty
3) London
4) LA Valiant
5/6) Houston/NY Excelsior
7/8) SF Shock/Miami
9/10) LA2/Philadelphia
11) Shanghai Dragons
12) Boston Uprising
literally perfectly said
sure there are plenty of standouts in APEX but they're not mechanically better than any Westerner, in fact, there's many westerners better than the folks you mentioned, or at least even with them. TyDolla flexing on any NA player? gtfo of here
Haksal's genji is fantastic but doesn't touch shadowburn's
Libero has great flexibility but his proficiency on those heroes doesn't touch the best Mei's or Hanzo's of the west
Profit's a great tracer, but no better than Sinatraa or Logix
Birdring/Rascal are great, but so is TviQ/Linkzr/S4/Taimou
Yaki? with his pharah? lol
Timeboy? If he was good enough he'd make most top 10 lists of best tracers, but he doesn't.
Saebyeolbe is in the same category as Profit here. They're both amazing, for sure, but not utterly better
dude are you out of your mind today or something
Stop arguing with him, he's not worth the effort.
Winter Premiere, Contenders Season 0, World Cup 2017 (yes I can predict the future)
Well I do. I'm still in school in the US as well, but I still watch. My point stands.
That's legitimately false but ok
I mean for real, a lot of people don't understand. Everyone says "NA is trash" when there's been very small amounts of international competition to gauge that. Korea is an eSports hub. Miro and Lunatic-Hai are celebrities for gods sake. ESports is worked into the very essence of South Korean life, unlike the rest of the western world, so talent just pops up in every street corner and PC cafe and alleyway.
If that same cultural respect was applied to North America, do you really think brand new talented players wouldn't show up? I mean gee-whiz, Guinea or Victo could become pros for all we know! Scrubasaurus would end his famed writing career to sign that Valiant contract! Koreans aren't better humans, they don't have something the rest of the world doesn't, they're simply in a better environment to go pro and be respected for that eSports dream.
Sorry I'm ranting at this point, it's just a topic that I care about strongly.
They're very good, indeed. But they're not the gods of the world. "Oh a Korean is on your roster? Oh you'll win everything!" said everyone when C9 got Kaiser and Xepher.
"Oh, your whole team is Korean? Ez win for OWL!" Said the owners of New York and London.
"Oh, South Korea in the World Cup? Why are the other teams even playing?" -said every person ever
It's all FAKE NEWS. They're good, yes! They're great, in fact! You know who else is great? A lot of other players!
Just because the region of Korea has dominated many eSports doesn't turn them into gods. Their region is strong because they consistently produce more talent, not better talent. They have a better work ethic and more strict system which has players practically undergoing a military camp at many orgs just so they can win. It's the Korean way of life, I know it from my grandparents.
But they're extremely overrated by the community. Thanks for this post btw.
It's not my fanboy hat dude, it's just my realistic view on OWL, and I know that in time I'm gonna accept it anyway. I'm allowed to rant
Things and rosters will most likely change by season 2, so it's good to keep that in mind.
I know you love ranting about these things, but let's see Season 1 plays out first before we jump to conclusions about how no one will support these teams.
Despite what I say about the NY team, and how I'm not happy that it's all Korean, I'm still gonna support them. I'm a New Yorker, and I'm gonna cheer for whatever team represents New York. We just have to accept that this is how the first season 2 is going to be like.
This game is extremely winnable. JAKE's mechanical skill may not be as impressive as Flow3rs, but he's a talented player who's unquestionably a great leader for them in game. Adam and Rawkus will unquestionably be the stronger support duo this time around, while FCTFCTN and Coolmatt seem to have developed a great duo chemistry that should be enough to take on Miro and Zunba's recently lackluster play. Sinatraa and SBB are around even, but I give the edge to Sinatraa because of his flexibility to his terrifying good Zarya and a solid genji.
USA's got this. It'll be close, but I say USA wins 3-2 or maybe even 3-1
I think the DPS duo of Saebyeolbe/Libero is fantastic, or even if it becomes Flow3r in the future. All those players are incredibly talented and I'm pumped to have them on the roster.
I think the rest of the roster is extremely mediocre and unproven. Doesn't matter if they've played with LW Blue- lots of them have very little experience playing in the pro scene (maybe barring Mano) and I just don't think the roster will succeed, even if they've been together for a bit. If they had kept Libero/SBB/Mano an de then added in the best NA and EU support and flex players, you could've had something special.
And yes, I am annoyed about how another massively diverse city is once again simply putting out a full Korean team that was bought out just because the New York owners assumed they'd be better and were lazy, without putting much thought into crafting an all-star, OWL-caliber roster. Being a New Yorker, its just not a team I see myself rooting for, and I can tell a lot of fans in London may feel the same way.
Just my opinion though.
What do you think?
I love the name, hate the logo and absolutely hating the roster.
Its the way they approached it and the sudden notice without even discussing it with him that was the problem. Changing a roster is fine if the team agrees to it, not excluding one member and then telling him the bad news.
#JusticeforReinforce
I like that
We fucking got this.
For sure the Zunba clip.
WE GOT EVERYTHING YOU WANT
dang it i was wrong
YOU KNOW WHAT IDEEKAE YOU CAN GET ON OUT OF HERE
I saw something on reddit about over.gg being denied passes to the World Cup, and I presume this will likely continue into the OWL. Is Blizzard trying to start their own website to be the official Overwatch eSports hub? I could see why they would want to, but trying their best to divert attention from other websites that have helped grow the scene so much is stupid and just plain ol' rude. I'll of course use whatever site or app they end up making, but the first page I'll always come to for Overwatch is right here, and that's never changing.
Remiska, Robokun, Clickbait, Accountseverywhere and Trashplayer are all the same person!
I don't think they confirmed LW Blue to New York though. It's likely, but not confirmed.
