if you get nitty gritty into the game, call them coaches or assistants, breaking down vods (not commonly done but will be in the future), theorycrafting comps, exploring advantages/disadvantages, etc, will be the future.
that's how im seeing it.

Nope, seagull gets all teh filthy casuals, who've never heard of TF2.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAt_NkdggUU
According to Thorin's report, Seagull's girlfriend (Shayed) was having a shit ton of influence on the team's decisions.
thats literally old news, like LG seagull old, not NRG new, not NRG post management shuffle new.
As to the "real" reasons why, Seagull left, we will probably never know, I feel, from what I've heard from people that know about the situation, its easy to say money, lack of comp. I think internally, there are more but something he wont ever say, until he gets that BOOK DEAL $$$$. If you see the history of popular athletes and the decisions they make, theres usually more to the story than what is stated, and i feel its like that in this situation.
im more curious what team will take him when he comes back when OWL launches and the teams that get bids are announced.
surprised after NV said they will not go, citing a break, being away from home for so long etc etc etc
hope theres some bonus $$$ for the NV boys to go back to KR for another 3 months. GL to them.
thats a scary duo to go up against.
even the love between IMT Grim and Sinatraa? <3
that needs to be shipped
From what they've said, since the squad was officially formed, they havent played much. Harb, Seagull, Iddqd have all said so on their stream. They've only started scrimming every day hardcore for the past 2 weeks roughly, iddqd moved to Vancouver, numlock finally got into the US, so they're basically all on the same continent. Seagull leaves, they sub Mendo who is in Sweden and has been scrimming with them for 4 days. Prior to that time frame, they havent scrimmed much at all, correct me if im wrong since I'm not privy to scrim times, so as a player fan, sucks they are doing poorly, but considering what their situation has been, not surprising. I do expect them to pick it up from here on out though now that the team is in, the house will be in LV and they're gearing up to move there, and OWL is couple months away.
Maybe NRG is more of a LAN tournament team instead of a online one.
Where did i heard this one?
faze
yep, hope Grim whips out the mcree and puts all this pharmercy to the grave.
Yeah they were going to be in Group B as well, but stepped down yesterday reportedly to give their roster a break. Unfortunate bc imo it might make these groups quite unbalanced in terms of difficulty
they will be back OW Rumble, so not much for a break, but hopefully they took few days off at least.
Damn Brandon....
but them pharah physics tho......
With OW Pit EU/NA and OW Pacific just starting (going to be as long as an apex season)
Unless teams drop out of PIT/Pacific, its hard to see any team going to S3. Top NA teams will skip s3 for a break and gear up for OWL.
I'll give Haksal the nod over Whoru, and cant forget Nicodgh from Rogue, who is dumpstering everyone in NA with his genji.
I do wonder who the 2 western teams will be. Since eUnited is in Korea, I'd expect them, and unless a top team drops from OW PIT NA/EU don't see a viable 2nd team going that will make it a good showing.
I like ZP/Hex better. monte doa/uber-jkap pretty much tied for 2nd.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
JKW was Rein for CoL, is now lucio for Tempo Storm, ¯_(ツ)_/¯
if dummy's ana montages are anything to go by.....
pretty much.
lets hope good aimer actually practices for this.
girlfriend experience?
that's so toxic - dummy
lol
the investment amount was 3 million (2.75 or something around there i forgot, when this dropped i saw the doc right away).
The flags should represent where the team is from, not where they're living. It doesn't make any sense. Envyus spent more time in Korea than in their gaming house so why didn't they get a Korean flag? It's just not a very good idea, I like this website a lot but it's always bugged me
just stop. This is not a thing. BE the SOLUTION, NOT THE PROBLEM.
they shouldve signed Dcop, a tank that really seemed to work well with them and tried to keep Nesh.
Meza and Bischu were ok in their roles. That would've been ideal. I think Dcop/Bischu were better than Nesh/Meza but if I had my way i'd split the 2.
lol
i know you're joking but this is better than that in a multitude of different meme levels
NRG org pushing esports further
man, the haters are going to have a field day still though.
that was savage af
Cant believe Selfless didn't get an invite....feelsbadman smh
Cool in seeing Selfless and their aggressive play.
Sucks that KR/BR would play, just due to the whole team being on a terrible ping, I think, 1- 2 members would be ok, but to have all 6, to me, makes the game unplayable.
Will they address this to make it more fair for the teams involved?
you listen to reddit? feelsbadman

great match, best of S2 of Apex. To me, more of a overall picture of grit/determination of one team, and another that needs more maturity to finish off that V.
Bronze/silver/gold/some plats just dont know how to play around/with a lucio.
This majority doesnt understand how speed kills, how speed can get past choke points (hello anubis/eich/kings row etc).
When to engage/disengage with lucio, players dont understand, so you wonder why lucio isn't "fun to play" when players can't "see" how lucio is critical to smooth great coordinated play.
Your asking to have a coordinated team, and simply put, thats just not going to happen in the lower tiers.
I think this is the greatest symptom of the game since its been out, players don't understand how to play this game in a coordinated matter and there are things the OW team can do to help the scene greatly on this point. If this happened, guaranteed this would never be an issue, a rework of one of the most critical characters in the game. You can balance lucio, sure, but rework him like a symmetra because of his pickrate/not fun? Look at the greater game design before you look at the nitty gritty.
so many vods, not enough time...
LGE will stomp Loyal so badly.
if you Zen, you basically need a perma flank, since discord through shield will need a strong flank to kill shit on time/move payload/cap pt...
...which requires teamwork...
teamwork in OW in a region not KR.....::thinkaboutit::
You gotta look at the game 5/10/15 years down the road. OW is the best selling game ever and this ambitious project is trying to create a league that will support a blend of a traditional/esport model. From monetizing streams, to launching their own streaming services, IRL esports stadiums tied to arenas in major/mid market teams and tying that into traditional sports teams is huge.
Hypothetically, LA Lakers buy whatever team wins the LA city bid, spend 10-15 million (Fnatic has a team house here, C9, Hammers soon with chavs etc) and market it through their teams (Lakers valued over 1 billion dollars+) and fans will crossover, boom their money is already made back. Money they can get from jersey sells, in game items (x team skins, ala CSGO), TV rights (maybe a match gets broadcasted before a Laker game) etc etc etc. That is huge and that's where the value will be for major/mid market teams, amongst other revenue avenues that may not even exist yet. That's why I see LA team bid as chump change at 10-15 million for the LA market because the upside is huge. As an investor you will get 10-50x return if you ride it out.
So as long as Blizzard doesn't fuck it up, I think history will look upon OW and see how this was the 1st game that broke "mainstream" coverage and the NA market sees "OW/esport" as an actual thing compared to traditional sports.
No, just you it seems so far?
And to each their own dude.
Once the OWL establishes itself, and matures, you will see the rise of the player AND org grow.
The Org will build fans due to X player, but X player leaves, but the fan will follow the Org still and X player in new team.
How orgs establish their own unique identities will remain to be seen, but thats crucial for long term growth/health of the esport. How the org establishes themselves in their home base and how they market themselves to the world (through the team play etc etc) will take time.
So its NOT oh Rogue is an EU team.
its OH Rogue is a great team, playing at the highest level (OWL) that has a bunch of French dudes on it.
All 3 labels can coexist and grow. These labels exist in other sports, like F1 (Lewis Hamiliton/ Valteri Bottas, an (black) English dude with a Finnish driver DRIVING (playing) for a German Team (Mercedes Hq in Germany but F1 hq in UK) that is in F1 (top league for Formula cars aka "the world").
so its Mercedes, its not German Mercedes, its not EU Mercedes. Its not EU Mercedes. it's F1 Mercedes. its not French Rogue, its not EU Rogue, its Overwatch League Rogue.
It's F1 Mercedes racing in the Australian GP.
Its OWL Rogue competing in DreamHack (or whatever)
You can have Rogue with french flags on their shirt to show off their nationality because as an Org, it will just grow your business, so why limit yourself? Builds value all around.
but what do i know................
We will see once bastion patch hits apex (should be 2nd matches) and when the orisa patch drops. I do agree they need to have a better defense against dive but thats every team regardless. Once all the teams come back, it will be fun to see how the NA teams compete leading up to OWL.
I did like how NV switched it up, they had a plan, and it somewhat worked, you can see it, just too bad it didnt go their way.
jkap was playing bastion, and self healed while being outplayed by a tracer, so thats the story he pointed to as to why the Bastion got nerfed. Everything else is hyperbole. As it stands, bastion is in a good spot, very killable, gotta treat him as a s76 in some respects.
thought Fnatic would take it, but they got dumpstered, which was a surprise since I thought their coordination/teamwork would prevail over raw DM. oh well. Learn and get stronger hopefully for these chaps.
Team Korea:
Esca- DPS
Rascal- Flex (from KDP)
Miro- Tank
EVERMORE- Tank (KDP)
Bubbly- Support (KDU)
RyujehongI don't think I need to say much.
Since i follow KR OW scene close enough
DPS: Nanohana - kid can play hitscan and projectile at a very high level, but i'd put him on projectile (pharah genji)
DPS: Recry - as my mcree, nanohana can tracer as well, hes more consistent and isn't as fragile as Esca
Tank: Panker (best in korea)
Flex: Birdring (why no Miro, birdring can hog and play dps so you can triple dps and panker can winston)
Support: RJH - 'nuff said
SUpport: tobi
i'd rather getr someone worse than deal with that guy
just dont run sombra, problem solved
Land of the Free:
Hitscan DPS: Grim Reality (as my mcree/s76)
Projectile DPS: Seagull (Genji/Hanzo/Pharah and pocket pick Zarya)
Main Tank: Mesr (great rein, good winston)
Flex Tank/Dps: Harbleu (Road hog, super aggro zarya and his tracer is ok but can use work)
Support: Shake (he is an ana-zen god)
Support: Adam (his mercy is great, his lucio needs work but its workable, great symm)
This team can own in dive/triple tank. Triple DPS will be hard but i think if they run cross fire defenses ultilzing high ground they should hold since theres enough flex so they can run dive defense/torb-sym (or sym only), honestly they can run quad tank too tbh.
