Wow for once its me in the US east having to deal with super painful game times. 11 pm 12:45am 2:30am 4:15am and 6am. At least I'll stay up and enjoy the first 2 or three games though. And agreed elendil it would be super cool to see CAG pull out a couple wins here!!!

I have to say though he has a decent point about iddqd being the most complete hitscan. Neither sinatraa or danteh have a very good widow or mcree as far as I know. And babybay while he has very good mid longrange hitscan, doesn't have a good tracer or genji like sinatraa and danteh do. Iddqd is just good at all hitscan roles. But I also tend to think that he will be let go. Just saying I get his point.

  1. I would rather 10 out of 12 OWL teams not be based in NA because they are not actually NA teams and yet fill up a shit ton of NA spots in Contenders. They even have like city names and shit even though they are all based out LA. To say these "NA" teams are all getting sponsored while other teams aren't is kind of silly because there is only like one entirely NA team that is getting sponsored. What I'm saying here is that blizzard screwed this up, and it could be better for LITERALLY EVERYONE if the OWL teams weren't all based out of NA. And you can sayyy oohhhhh well what would the poor players do if they had to fly around everywhere, but it looks like thats what is going to happen anyways. Maybe this just a drunken rant but the whole path to pro system is flawed. And whether it ends up being path to pro or OWL that is flawed either way one of them will be unless shit changes.
  2. I think we have already agreed on this.
  3. I don't think you understand my point. Philly schedule was way easier than Houstons. Houston missed Valiant 7-3, Fuel 2-8, Dragons 0-10, Dynasty 3-7. They would have won all of these matches even the Valiant considering they were very good in stage 1. Fusion missed Dynasty 7-3, Shock 3-7, Gladiators 6-4, and Valiant 9-1. Arguably they would've lost all of these except the shock game. So yeah Houston probably would've made it if their schedule was as easy as phillys. Why even mention mayhem unless you totally missed my point.
  4. I feel like you wouldn't be too happy if a third of eu contenders wasn't eu, but I'm probably wrong and don't know you so w/e.

I mean listen its not like these korean players are only better than NA players. They're better than the players in any of the other regions as well. Its not specifically because they are better NA players. But you don't see nearly as many in other regions. Its because NA has 8 out of 9 of the total academy teams in it (Kind of fucked us there didn't you blizzard by allowing so many teams to be "NA" teams). And if they have these top tier korean players on their academy teams, 1 like you said their chances at a return are higher, and 2 they will get opportunity before anyone else to put these players on their owl teams. And 6 NA player in the playoffs? There were only 8 eu Players that is not a big difference. Not only that, but if the outlaws had nearly as easy a regular season as philly there would be many more NA players than Eu. So I might be biased here but I think you are a little bias as well.

Yeah I mean the NA contenders scene isn't really that fair to NA players, I checked once and it was like out of 84 players, 53 of them are NA. The other 31 are Eu or Korean. And thats with a lot of NA subs that aren't actually playing. In korea its all Korean players. In EU its all european players except like one or two. In China its all chinese players except one fully korean team. In AU its all players from Australia and NZ, except one NA player. In the pacific region however I think all of group a are fully korean teams. So yeah its fair to koreans who are getting these spots because of how talented and smart their play is. But at the same time it eliminates a lot of opportunity for other players from these regions who would have a chance to prove themselves but aren't getting it. And I don't think its healthy for the Korean players who are essentially getting worse, because their competition isn't as good. I don't know what the answer is though. I mean maybe allow Korean contenders more teams? I think the main reason that NA has so many foreign players is because its almost all academy teams.

I definitely think Canada will beat US, and I think Norway could have a chance at getting through. I think US could've put together a better roster.

Yes and I'm sure someday when helsinki gets a team they'll be the Helsinki Whooping Swans, Or the Helsinki Valley Lilies.

posted about 6 years ago

hey, its shitty I know, but at least you have paris to root for now! would be hilarious if it was an all korean team like london tho. It could definitely be an all french roster though so you never know.

plus that montage was actually so sick. I feel like usually the montages aren't as well put together like that with owl.

Yeah probably the smartest strat I've ever seen as well, and they even kept him on brig in spawn so when the 30 sec or w/e was up they would still see brig as part of the comp. Although I have to say I almost wish they'd saved that strat for later.

I like Space and Muma for tanks. I feel like the dps lineup could be better. I think it will be Muma Space Danteh Hydration Zacharee Sleepy and Moth for the final 7.

Oh as a side note I find it amusing that fleta is the only player on this roster of 12 thats not in the OWL playoffs.

posted about 6 years ago

Mano Janus and Pine feeling down XD. Foreal though I think this could be the strongest roster of OWL players they could field. Maybe bdosin over Kariv. And yes I can see profit making it over fleta, but they already have great tracers and fleta brings a widow and mcree that profit doesn't. As for Fate I think he definitely deserves this. It would be gesture or fissure I would be making the decision over. And while gesture is great, I think fissures primals are some of the best in the game.

I mean for me I'm surprised Kariv made it over Bdosin as good as Kariv is.

Can talespin play a good genji? I thought he was a tracer pharah main. Because imo buds is better at hitscan than projectile.

confirmation I can't read lol, can't believe I didn't think of that or read it

posted about 6 years ago

Same, I love the korean pickups they have but deep down I want an all chinese shanghai team, and for those pickups to go to a new team or something. Especially ado, his genji was monstrous I thought. This WC team seriously seems like it would be better than the original shanghai roster, although I know they were limited by age. Oh also is Kheart as good as eileen? I haven't followed the scene for a bit.

So whats interesting they only had 13 balls in there. And only one ball was left at the end which means 3 out of 4 of Hollywood Horizon ilios and blizzard world were all missing from the original pool.
