Everyone expecting Tanks but I reckon after a while Widow will see a lot more use than she does now too.
(Widow at 24.68% pick rate in OWL right now for reference)

Excited to see fiveking get some play time.
Not sure how this will affect the OWL teams as most teams have players who are better at Lucio than Mercy.
FINALLY, can't wait to actually play Overwatch again now they've fixed D.Va's face and hair textures
I'm sure the money is good but from the player perspective, it is probably better to be in an Academy team than a regular Contenders team.
Better facilities, most likely better money, plus you will likely have direct interaction and practice with OWL coaches, players and teams. The last being the key, you can't underestimate the value of being directly connected.
Also, bear in mind the new Lunatic-Hai looked good but were never elite level in Korea. So I don't think it is a massive step down for either Alarm or WhoRU.
Good stuff!
Glad zunba got the love he deserved for an outstanding year.
Shame not to see more RunAway players after their strong S2 and S4 performances though.
Alarm and Aero the MVP pickups here
You are correct, fixed.
Random capitalisation of names (:
Dallas super ready for the upcoming quad Soldier 76 meta
Made another one https://www.reddit.com/r/Competitiveoverwatch/comments/7tlawm/different_approaches_episode_3_dorado_point_b/
Made another for attacking Horizon Lunar Colony Point B: https://www.reddit.com/r/Competitiveoverwatch/comments/7sq72e/different_approaches_episode_2_horizon_lunar/
Shorter this time too!
Big fan of Mystic, they have earnt the spot
Hey guys,
Put together a video looking at the different approaches teams took to defend the first stage of Junkertown in their OWL Week 1 matches.
Current plan with future videos is to make them shorter and more focused, as well as working more on my presentation skills. Still happy for whatever feedback anyone has though.
Hope you enjoy them!
Different Approaches
Episode 1 - Junkertown - Point A - Defence
Episode 2 - Horizon Lunar Colony - Point B -Offence
Episode 3 - Dorado - Point B, First Corner - Offence
Episode 4 Houston Outlaws - Temple of Anubis, Point B - Defence
Episode 5 - Temple of Anubis, Point A - Defence
Episode 6 - Numbani, Point A - Attack
Episode 7 - Watchpoint: Gibraltar, Point A, Defence
Episode 8 - Hanamura, Point B - Defence
Episode 9 - Volskaya Industries, Point A - Offence
Episode 10 - King's Row, Point A - Defence
Lots of good players here, hope they land somewhere nice
Loving these insights, great hearing them talk about other players
In a shocking and unexpected turn of the results, the Korean teams did better than the other teams.
As an event though it was incredible. When I think back to all the scepticism, doubts and concerns there were throughout the build up over the last year, seeing it all come together so well was fantastic. It surpassed my expectations, and I am very much looking forward to the next 39 weeks!
You are my Overwatch google Mert
Sad there wasn't space for Element Mystic but this should still be a pretty sick tournament
yeah 100% was sleeping on poko, he played great today
Since posting that some people have mentioned that the money you can make off boosting is actually pretty huge, higher than a lot of wages anyway. So I think that would also contribute to the large amount that we hear about.
Combined with other factors people have mentioned.
PSA: Mert is holding Scrub captive against his will and forcing him to credit him on content he writes.

LH have other people who can play his role but a growing concern that more and more pros are involved in boosting. Are wages not particularly good for ow players? Is that why so many go in this direction?
Thanks, yeah I did struggle a bit balancing the audio. I feel Overwatch is difficult to watch with no in-game sounds but the level on the Chinese duo was fairly high, so a bit of a catch 22. I turned down down the VOD volume a little bit from Lower Bracket Round 3 onwards, not sure if that made a difference.
(Hopefully there will be a real replay system soon, pls Blizzard)
Added the Upper bracket final and lower bracket games, grand final rendering now
Hey guys,
Had a bit of time and wanted to do some practice casts so figured I would do the most recent Nexus Cup games as they perhaps didn't get the amount of attention they should have done for the calibre of the tournament.
The recordings are quite rudimentary and I could only get so much quality out of the bilibili VODs. The casting might be a bit rough around the edges too but hopefully, I get better as I go along.
Check out the list of VODs in order below.
Hope you enjoy them!
Upper Bracket Round 1:
Lunatic-Hai v RunAway
Foxes v Element Mystic
Seven v X6 Gaming
Kongdoo Panthera v Meta Athena
Lower Bracket Round 3:
Seven v Vici Gaming
Foxes v Meta Athena
Upper Bracket Round 2:
Lunatic-Hai v X6 Gaming
Kongdoo Panthera v Element Mystic
Lower Bracket Round 4:
Vici Gaming v Element Mystic
Meta Athena v Lunatic-Hai
Lower Bracket Round 5:
Lunatic-Hai v Element Mystic
Upper Bracket Final:
X6 Gaming v Kongdoo Panthera
Lower Bracket Final:
Kongdoo Panthera v Element Mystic
Grand Final:
X6 Gaming v Kongdoo Panthera
LFTOWL settle for Squid
Really enjoy this kind of content, starting to become a big NYXL fan
Purely speculating, but losers pick with 'home' team picking the first map. Or something similar
VODs go up on the OWL website after the broadcast. Not sure on timescales but think it is fairly prompt.
I believe there is a set pool of 9 maps for each Stage. To give the teams more manageable practice but still keep it fresh.
Corrected, ty for the spot :)
Lore revision for me tonight :'(
The San Fran staff confirmed on Around The Watch that babybay and danteh would be starting. Though i think all will make an appearence during preseason.
The league is full, no space for me :(
Enough other people interested that's it's worth me creating a secondary league?
Edit: Just messaged the creator on discord he is going to message Pixel t up the limit hopefully :D
The Tokyo team should be called the Tokyo Drifters

Should be able to cover any meta plus enough quality players to start with an English speaking lineup and integrate the Eastern players in once they are more comfortable with the language.
Really good piece. Hope everything works out for the RunAway family, they deserve it
Great comeback from Canada but I think they will be exposed by Sweden
One of the better branding reveals, hope the roster is up to par too
Not a huge fan of the logo itself but like the idea and thought behind it.
Great announcement and roster overall, I don't think they'll win Season 1 but they'll surprise a few of the top teams.
I imagine this is fairly accurate even if not 100%
JAKE and LiNkzr are as good as any other DPS duo you could get and the rest of the roster is pretty stacked too.
Excited to see this roster and what Kyky does with it, so many good options
Best name yet
This is certainly a thing that is happening.
They did it!
Incredible series definitely worth watching if you missed it live
